I like the attitude of this. Because people should be able to express themselves in art and collections. I collect action figures from Japan- sofubi Godzilla s- vintage D&D- and more. Some of my collection increases in value and is considered contemporary art. If it gives a boost in happiness just do it. Live life and be happy. Sending blessings to all my collectors out there. Be who you are. Artistic with exquisite taste!!!

My wife is 100% in support of my collection. She’s watched it evolve into an art form, I went from 3rd party Transformers to customizing my FlameToys TF models and Gundams. She’s even helped with dioramas, and displays. The only catch we agreed on was my hobby must support itself. Which it has accomplished easily. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Keep up on the content.

First. Congrats on the prequel to this vid (around 31k when I last checked). You deserve the views and I hope it catches fire more and YT don't trip - you da realest. Second, it's amazing and contradictory that men/women that cast judgment on our spending on something we love clearly have their own 'appearance' hobbies/fetishes (wigs, lashes, hair color, chest, tucks in all kinds of places, even working out or whatever, jerseys, shoes) that I really could care less about and am glad they're enjoying themselves ... hell they mine as well be a LIFE-SIZE 1/6 scale in my moducase lol

I honestly think it's sad to see women and men who think it's better to have an alcohol or drug addiction. Same with gang banging and music that deteriorates the mind. Toy collections don't come anywhere near close to being bad unless it's draining your pockets but that's a different problem.

When I was a kid, my dad used to collect Star Wars fighters and action figures. Also had lots of model kits of things like battlestar galactica and aliens and stuff like that. Nobody would dare question him for that.
lol their purse collection be cost more than a collection of hot toys combined. These 200 to 300 dollar purses just sit in a closet after one or two use. Even worse if you combine it with their shoe collection that sits in a closet. Pull it out a year later and find a random dead crusty water bug in it. All, poorly taken care off and can't be resold. Unlike guys who collect Jordan's(for an example) take very good care of them and keep them in the box.

I’m 47 i collect video games and consoles..Marvel figures and funko pops so I don’t care what people think..I do sometimes go over board on certain things my wife be on my ass😂..

Great points, sometimes unfortunately it comes down to what's an acceptable hobby and what's considered a unacceptable one I don't get judgy about people who wear large cheese props on their heads I just see it as their passionate about their team......

I've had women question me about action figures, Js and firearms. I think women want men to be miserable and focus all your attention on them. Well some women. The miserable single or judgemental women. I have a 75 year old aunt who still reads comics and another aunt who loves Betty Boop. I'm 48 will collect until I die. Appreciate the videos mane. They don't respect you show them the door. That stupid stuff they collect is materialistic and a waste. If you were to put them down after they put you down they would be the first one to try and fight. Like you embarrassed or belittled them. People collect all type of stuff and the last time I looked it costs money. So if your collecting, paying your bills and have money to spend on them...where's the problem. Women and other people need to understand everyone has their own interests and things they like...respect them or get lost.

I think one unspoken issue is how the rise of the "adult toy collector" has coincided with the death of toys for actual children. As adults, we have let video games become the default "toy" for kids while actual toy companies now market to adults. So each "toy" made for an adult represents one that isn't made for a kid and that just seems like a capitalist dystopia that we unquestioningly accept. Its sobering to acknowledge, but "toys" are something adults have taken from children, which is the sense in which nostalgia isn't the attempt to recapture one's own youth, but rather the act of stealing someone else's.
@ericb9804 Adults that collect are not a new thing. I somewhat agree you depending on what we are talking about. If we are talking actual toys made for kids I can see that somewhat. But ultimately I disagree with you. I somewhat already covered this topic on my channel in a couple other videos but I actually got another video on the top is coming.

I certainly don't want to come off as blaming or shaming, but I also think we should be honest with ourselves about the extent to which our own behavior contributes to the very things we complain about. There is clearly a sense in which market forces manipulate our sense of pleasure to paradoxically create a social situation we don't particularly enjoy - and yet we keep doing it. For example, its important that we acknowledge that "toy" companies chase adult dollars by sacrificing toys for children. We tell ourselves that kids want video games more than toys, which is true to an extent, but only in the sense that children are even more easily manipulated than adults.
Kids have video games while adults have toys because that is world we have created for ourselves by an unquestioning acceptance of market forces that are not necessarily in our best interests. Its Ok to acknowledge that, for all the joy it may bring, buying "toys" as an adult is both a social and personal pathology.
You know what, you don't owe nobody an explanation of a completely legal hobby!
