Jay_Cee is an awesome runner and a great guy. If you guys haven't watched his streams on twitch I'd suggest going there and checking them out. He should have a lot more subs. Hopefully he gets invited back to do more castlevania games.
Even though the RNG at the start wasn't in the runner's favor, I definitely appreciate runs like this more than those that start with a pass code in order to skip the initial grind.

I don't get why this game has so much hatred when it was essentially the precursor to Castlevania symphony of the night in terms of gameplay mechanics.
Wait, you could kill Dracula just by throwing Holy Water on him twice from under the floor? :O And here I was, wasting time throwing Sacred Fire on him
This game is not as bad as people say. Beat it casually at around 4h. The only problem is that you absolutely need a walkthrough or guide, because otherwise the game is extremely obtuse. Other than that, it's alright. Definitely the worst Castlevania NES game, but I've played worse

Because the concept was very good but the execusion was bad.
Holy shit, the hours I spent trying to get over that wall as a kid and it did exactly what my 10 year old brain thought it would.
Ive only played Simons Quest until I got a GBA and a DS then I tried the Metroidvania games. I could never get the Simon Quests good ending though.
