I believe it's opened a whole new subchapter in the memoir category, of people moving to a different country, and I must say that I find these types of books very relaxing, like a palate cleanser that refreshes my spirit. Thank you for stopping by Elisabeth ❤️🤗 I'm glad you've enjoyed this !
Stunning as always Alexandra! That melon dish looks to die for. The books you mention remind of Chris Stewart’s Driving Over Lemons which is about his move to a small village in Spain but I imagine evokes similar experiences and feelings and Peter Mayle’s.
Thank you Jo 💜 they are quite similar in style, though Peter Mayle's was published 10 years ahead of Chris Stewart's, that's why I consider him a bit of a pioneer when it comes to memoirs about moving abroad. I for one, have equally enjoyed reading them both 😁 have a lovely week-end 🤗😘
Your video was like having a mini retreat at the end of a long day. The videography was very immersive and everything so well thought out. I will have to read those books and if I ever meet you please make me that melon delight. It was a work of art ❤!
Thank you once again. This video was delicious in all senses of the word. I am salivating and dying of envy at the same time!😄 Have you visited Carcassonne? The history of that region fascinates me.
Oh thank you 💜 that's so nice of you. No, haven't been to Carcassonne just yet, I'd love to pair it with Toulouse and maybe Albi for the cathedral... There's so much to see in France, you need to be well organised, or in my case find the right books that give you an excuse to travel and film 😂😂
Thank you for the virtual vacation 💜
You're very welcome, my dear Christina 💜🤗
This was just what I needed Alexandra! I read A Year in Provence last year - such a lovely escapist read. Beautiful video ❤
Oh I'm so happy you liked this, Jack 🤗 a bit of late summer escapism as we get out the trench coats and scarves for autumn 🍁🍂
@@TheRitualofReading precisely! It has turned cold here in England this week so it really feels like summer is over now!
Lovely! I have indeed read A Year in Provence. I read it before I went to France for the first tine, even though I didn’t go to Provence on that trip.
