You never rush the outro, and that is so important when you take us so far away. It's like breaking a hypnosis meditation - you have to count us back to the real world so we don't crash. Really fine work that continues to inspire and delight. Thank you again.
I really like how this somehow reminds me of the way a good classical guitarist coaxes all these different timbres out of a fine concert guitar. It's the same instrument / sound at heart, but with different articulations the tonal changes are like different instruments. So, there's ponticello harpsichord noises, woody sul tasto muted pizzacato plucks. Then, the subtle timbre changes add a lot to the arrangement, but the fact it's the same instrument, bonds it together.
man... I have discovered this video few hours ago and since then I have already checked your whole accound twice! I just realised that this is fresh creation :D I am one lucky bastard -> instant subscribtion
Absolutely Amazing Jay! Thank you for this wonderful music presentation. I have a Polybrute and will soon have. Cosmos! Lol. Mark Bensette Aux Bois 🇨🇦.
AT 3:30ish, the CLASSIC Hosking melancholy with a sublayer of hope comes in . . . and the journey begins. Been listening to your music for years now and I always look forward to the way you put music together with such emotion.
I just added both to my studio.(merry Christmas to me lol) Polybrute comes monday, cosmos got here yesterday. Both are superior in my style of music.(ambient & medatation) beautiful demo song btw. Kudos from Florida USA
excellent as usual.........I'm not sure if it was intensional, but you've listed the Cosmos as a Drifting 'Loop' Station (instead of Memory). I so rarely hear a Polybrute, esp. for ambient - the two pieces of gear are a great combo.....so beautiful - the way you've eased out of this, creating a dynamic shift in the intensity, top end, etc. .....a really Killer ending
Never had a synth, been playing guitar for decades but have been looking a different synths. This is the kind of stuff I would love to do. There is a used Polybrute on the local CL. I'm having trouble pulling the trigger as this looks very complex for a beginner like myself. I do love this composition you posted. Very Blade Runnerish. :)
Hey, that's great to hear! And thanks for the kind words. This one is a little complex for a beginner, yeah, and with the presets would mean that you often don't know what the parameters are dialled in at. My personal opinion would be to get something that is what-you-see-is-what-you-get, i.e. no presets. They sound just as good, and also teach you how to build synth sounds at the same time. Best of luck!
Very nice use of both the polybrute and the cosmos. I'm trying to get my hands on a cosmos but they seem to be as rare as "unobtanium". Subbed from this video alone.
Goddamn fine work here. I wonder if there is any solution that would duplicate functionality of Cosmos on software side. I'd love to give an ambient jam a try.
Hi Jay, love your work. COuld you add the name of the tracks here on YT so it is easier to find the tracks on spotify and bandcamp? your music has become a very important part of my day.
i am a modlar addict but this piece of gear was my fav on the last superbooth. i sat 3 days in a row on it. i don't own one yet, but i need to have it....no matter what. do you konw if their newer batch has the rythmic firmware on it??!! or do you stlll need to download it?? beautiful piece of music as always my man!!!
Video and music super very nice. Please, remember not all of us are english mother language, the text is disappearing super fast (to my skill and I speak english quite a bit), I had to stop continuously to read... give it some more seconds, please... GREAT MUSIC!!!

Stuff like this makes me so glad TH-cam exists. You’re very good Jay. Keep doing what you do.
All I can say is you’ve done it again!

Nice. You kept a theme to keep the chaos together.
I always come back to this channel and your videos. Thank you for sharing your mind.
This setup, played by you, really demonstrates how less is more.
Catching, brilliant, ambient flow!
Yes. Thank you. Your
creations are perfect from my pov 🙏🏼
Super!
that was so beautiful, jay. you beautiful soul, you! ;)
Lovely this, cheers
Flipping hell!! Loved it, especially the last few minutes - emotional and so much feeling. 👏👏
Absolutely Amazing Jay! Thank you for this wonderful music presentation. I have a Polybrute and will soon have. Cosmos! Lol. Mark Bensette Aux Bois 🇨🇦.
fantastic work on this, the Polybrute is a dream of a synth to play
I will never miss any of your video, and I love ‘em all🤩This delay is sooooo soothing, like rain drops’ echoes in the valley.
Because of you I need to find money for PolyBrute. very cool!
the reverb/echo really sets this in a place, misty, dreamy, far away.
Damn this is a nice synth. I was going to buy a prophet 6, but I think I might have to get one of these instead.

Wooooo, super beautiful Jay!
I am still very new to the world of synths and I don't understand how it's done but I enjoy watching your videos a lot!!
The root sounds like Philip Glass "An Opening" Which is a complement in my humble opinion. Love your playing Jay! PolyBrute is amazing too!
I have been wanting to get the Cosmos for a while now, and after listening to this, I’m sure of it.
Absolutely beautiful. Love it and even replaced it with my Andromeda A6. And that's saying something...
Very inspiring, great dynamics and shows off share depth of tone of the Matrixbrute. Thanks for the upload.
This one is the polybrute, it's 6 voices poly
just wow!
Brilliant. The last minutes are so delicade.
puts Cosmos on the shopping list - maybe someday
Always great to see on a Monday morning✌🏻
Finally something special out of this synth! well done ;)
What a cracking pairing of great kit. Both of which I have my eyes on haha...
And nicely played... a great journey
Wonderfull Jay! Your music inspire and relax
Love your jams!
Beautiful sound, it feels so short in time and it’s 8 minutes long. 🔥🔥🔥
New upload yesss!! Awesome piece :)
Loved this. Bravo.

Thanks for more subtle sounds that are a pleasure to listen to~

Very nice!
So sorry to see you had a knock to your Polybrute. But still you can get beautiful sounds out of it. You are very talented.
insane aftertouch moves there, sounds incredible! if only i were rich too...
So gorgeous Jay!
Beautiful.
Toujours au top ! Bravo

Fantastic !!!
Very good job, nice sounds 👍
This is great! Heard a little Daft Punk in there to
This is pure synth butter smooth and and creamy and fat as a hell. Amazing.
very nice ... thank you
very nice
Amazing!!!!!!
Very cinematic
If Soma had not done anything else, just the Cosmos, they would still be eternally praised for that.
Not totally sure where I went while listening to this, but could have hung out there for a long time.
This is my experience with the Cosmos. It just takes me places. My favourite jam tool right now.
Very nice use of both the polybrute and the cosmos. I'm trying to get my hands on a cosmos but they seem to be as rare as "unobtanium".
Subbed from this video alone.
I got mine yesterday from Thomann, waited less than a month.
Sounds like the arturia has beautiful reverbs available
✨🔝✨
Still my most holiest of grail synths. One day...
Goddamn fine work here. I wonder if there is any solution that would duplicate functionality of Cosmos on software side. I'd love to give an ambient jam a try.
you have an idea of an arrangment of an improvisation you bout to play, before u play it? or its just 100% on the spot?
It varies every time, but usually I have an idea of key, and/or a melody idea.
Hi Jay, love your work. COuld you add the name of the tracks here on YT so it is easier to find the tracks on spotify and bandcamp? your music has become a very important part of my day.
Looking forward to digging into this setup soon. So, are both master outputs from the Polybrute connected via TS cables to the Cosmos?
which firmware are you using on the soma?
Just the standard firmware it ships with.
i am a modlar addict but this piece of gear was my fav on the last superbooth. i sat 3 days in a row on it. i don't own one yet, but i need to have it....no matter what. do you konw if their newer batch has the rythmic firmware on it??!! or do you stlll need to download it?? beautiful piece of music as always my man!!!
Неожиданно красиво звучит
Been waiting for this one - this is great, thanks! (PS: did you drop something on your Polybrute?)
I did! Heartbreaking (but thankfully not Polybrute breaking)
@@JayHosking Just adds character then, hehe.
@@Tyetheberious Hah!
@@JayHosking I had to purge a fair bit of gear over the last few months, but I am picking up a Polybrute tomorrow - going to be a late night!
It reminds of Estas Tone music
So beautiful. What algorithm are you using on the Cosmos?
Video and music super very nice. Please, remember not all of us are english mother language, the text is disappearing super fast (to my skill and I speak english quite a bit), I had to stop continuously to read... give it some more seconds, please... GREAT MUSIC!!!
Have you scratched your polybrute? 🥺
Good old Cassette RFI :) But what happened to your PB’s ribbon??
Yeah, great patch! (Added a bunch of reverb, of course.) Ribbon got bonked by a stand! First time I've had it happen, too.
Crystal eye...
shoutout tron and daft punk
Ooohhhh….
Beautiful performance, thank you ❤
