Not sure if Nicks still carries them but they had some natural rawhide laces I threw on some black White’s boots and have liked how the laces have patina’d. Think they’d go well with the sole you got too!

I too thought that those were the new Nicks MTO "Chromepak Sage" boots, because of that sort of olive tint. A gorgeous boot, and you simply cannot beat the "honey-V soles." I do not own any strictly veg-tanned boots, but I do have a vintage pair of Tony Lama "Zindelo's" from back in the early 80's that are a "re-tan" leather upper, and the aging on them is very interesting indeed. In case you're unaware, re-tan leather is chrome-tanned, then veg-tanned for a second run. Supposedly makes for a very durable work leather that's ideal for boots. They've developed that same "spotty" or "patchy" undertone, that can only be seen in certain lighting. Very interesting indeed. I guess I would consider them to be the definition of double stuffed goodness. Ya like how I did that there??? No??? Ah anyway....in all seriousness, here's wishing you all the best Carl, my man. I don't have the double stuffed leather, but I do have Wickett and Craig leather. My first MTO boot was the Nick's Urban Loggers in Wickett and Craig bridle tan. A patina machine! That keeps on giving. I absolutely enjoy mine, almost 3 yrs old now. I have the unboxing video on my channel

Are the W&C too shiny? I’m looking at the W&C milled leather nicks and can’t decide

@ThaOfacemaker that depends on the conditioner you use. For the most part W&C comes out of the box like any other leather. It is a veg tan so seems to me more dry, the other leathers. And people like to condition it sooner than later because of that. If you just use the obenaufs grease it won't be shiny. If you use Saphir Renovatuer it will be, and Venetian shoe Cream. It's not too shiny to me, but everyone has their preferences. Another thing I think is you see pictures of the boots with W&C and the flash will definitely give it a shiny look
