ITZY always impresses me with their talents. They’re the standard that all K-pop groups should strive to be like
7:70 the authentic take comment is so on point, because kpop has been on a western pop trend for a while, and ITZY seem to be one of the very few groups that still have that kpop signature sound, more like a 2nd or 3rd generation sound. I confess I thought Gold was a little strange at first listen, but then I noticed that this song could have been done by f(x) or Red Velvet or even Wonder Girls, and at their peaks would have been an immediate success. ITZY has been doing really well doing their own thing and keeping it original.
9:50 that's actually Chaeryeong's voice, Yuna appears in the vider right after, but it's definitely chaeryeong's voice

I'm so happy you reacted to ITZY! ☺️ I've watched all your videos of vocal analysis of other JYP groups and was waiting for one for ITZY (I did watch your other video with NMIXX, BINI and ITZY, and loved the analysis you shared in just those few mins of Not Shy). Its so interesting to hear about how challenging GOLD is to sing, while imho ITZY has sung some other more really challenging tunes (Wannabe, Loco, Cheshire). Its like GOLD is just another day on the job for them 😄 but thanks for your reaction, I really enjoyed it! And ive grown more appreciation for their vocals especially as they do all that while dancing😮

Thanks for this reaction, I always love hearing what you have to say and how you analyze it. It's definitely a song that has grown on me, I wasn't sure at first listen but now I absolutely love it. Beyond this one, I'd say Imaginary Friend is the one I liked the most. And while not new, I really enjoyed the final version of the various songs from Born To Be that they redid with Lia in.
In the ITZY reaction video, they mention that they'd wanted to shoot more on the white flat set, but apparently it was too slippery.

Reddit's been very negative with the song but I absolutely love it. I actually loved it more with just the performance because the MV's visual made it feel like the song was cut into so many pieces and then just mashed together. I particularly enjoyed the intro. It was a banger!

itzy went full force after lia hiatus 10 month, it is not generic music i have ever heard but i like it right after listening repeatedly. i'd like to listening the song non-mainstream, it's so unique to put the element of the song and fuse it between hip hop and rock

Agree… however I am taken back by Imaginary Friend that will be their top song… that and Escalator
It is a two title track cb, so I'm assuming this was the more performance/hype title because Imaginary Friend (the other title track) has a better song structure overall
I think their production team have been going for the concept and message more than for the sound of their title songs. They got it all right with Untouchable, but not so much with Sneakers, Cake and Gold(though I think Gold sounds way better than the previous two). It's almost like they are promoting a musical theater sketch scene. Anyway, the thing is, although their titles have been taking a little longer than usual for people to dig them, their bsides have been nothing but perfect, so they still get recognition for that too.
@@Liviahel Thats crazy because I actually think Cake is one of the best recent releases, and sounds the closest to the rookie days ITZY sound. Like that entire album was very ITZY. Gold is really good though though it took longer to get into compared to Sneakers and Cake
