Erin is absolutely right. When there's an option, sleeping against a solid wall is always better than under windows. It makes whoever sleeping feel more secure and supported
He is also on view from the balcony when he's in bed. He would have a much greater sense of privacy had the bed been on the opposite wall.
Curtains are awkward when you have to account for a bed under the window.
100% the overall design fwlt cheapened by bons decision there :/

Hopefully house 17 will have better videos again. I don't know, this series didn't feel like it did justice to the house nor all the work that went into the renovation. It felt short, incomplete, and poorly edited. Still, beautiful home, from the bits and pieces they did show properly.

I was coming here to say the same thing!! To much energy from the window and from the feet pointing at the door
Yesss I kept saying that while watching them discuss it. I wonder if they factor in feng shui when decision making for bed placements etc

I had a bed under a window for a while ....and for Summer in Australia, its a huge no even with ducted air conditioning. But the room looks fantastic though.
Erin was right about the bed under the window.
I like Erin’s house because it’s not the most spacious but they utilized every angle of it. The styling is great as always.

25:05 I was even more surprised by how young Erin looks. It's like she stopped aging during her 20s. Looking at her with her kids, we could definitely mistake her as one of the siblings.

Literally only one thing I’d change about Erin’s whole house and it’s frosted glass on the butler’s pantry doors 😅 but that’s just my lack of faith in myself to keep it looking tidy.

Erins original thoughts about the bed is correct- Def bad fung shui to put bed under the window...also, when you're lying in bed you want to look out the window, not at a blank wall or cabinetry :/
I could never sleep with my bed under a window either Erin.. bad Feng Shui, promotes restless sleep and it's been said your dreams go out the window

I would of given the boy the room with the ensuite and the girls the main bathroom, so that means the oldest and the son would swapped areas
Why? Women tend to spend way more time in the bathroom.
I think you’re forgetting there are two daughters in that family only a few years apart. when the oldest moves out the youngest girl will want that room, it’s not convenient. The main bathroom is big enough to accommodate a large or two separate vanity for both girls. Rather than on girl getting an ensuite and the other two kids one being a boy and other being a girl share. And yeah if spending time is the bathroom is the issue the boys gonna be mad his sisters there for ages and he cant get ready. If it’s two sisters they can get ready at the same time, if you can have 2 bathrooms then the kid that’s the only gender should get that bathroom. It’s about practicality and function.

Love the soft cloud like serene carpet upstairs. Also works as a sound buffer. But for me, the carpet had better be NON TOXIC or heads will roll !!!! Yes, shoes off. I don’t know if i could swing it ( may be nice goal) 16 paws need to be trained to clean off every time. Need a good dog trainer.
What the heck is “too lolly” ????? “ Lolly is not a word used in America. Exception possibly may be short for “ Lollipop” , which is a candy on a stick.
I love the styling, but it seems like Marli is the only one with a practical-ish desk. These teens need shelf space for books and collectibles that lets their personality shine. They need a BIG desk for working on assignments. They also need a more comfortable office chair for long study sessions. Their rooms need to be more practical

You always do the tiniest desks, no drawers, no shelves... No desk look like that ! You need a computer, books, notes at least!

Well done Birds and Crew! It's stunning - and I love the practicalities. My favourite rooms are always the bathrooms with the gorgeous tiling and subtle colour play. I love all the architectural details that were centred like the showstopping atrium. The cohesiveness and taste throughout - so elegant. Love the curved built-ins in the master. And the blue bedroom has the most character. Another brilliant reno House 16 ✨
