Thanks for creating this...very helpful. I'm thinking about getting a Kaly. Have you tried the app? I hear you can tweak it a lot and limit the top speed. I do worry about "letting off" the throttle but as you said I guess I could learn how to throttle back smoothly. Have you ever had a situation where you've been surprised by a pothole or "something" and then had a knee jerk response where you have hit the throttle forward or backward suddenly and been thrown off your board?

Graeme Franks great questions. Especially the one about falling since it involves safety. First off just to let you know about the app, no I haven't used it so I can't really give honest feedback about that. It does sound like a very useful feature though. As far as being thrown off the board, no that's never happened to me but it has been a little alarming at times when I have hit something going a bit quicker and let off the throttle suddenly. Although it's never caused a fall it isn't a pleasant feeling either. That's one reason why I much prefer my Lacroix board to the Kaly. Although both have that slingshot effect, so do evolve boards and pretty much any powerful belt drive board I've ridden. The lacroix deck shape though is great for dampening that effect. I notice it feels more abrupt on the kaly due to the higher arch of the deck. I hope this gives a little more insight on the way these boards feel riding. Feel free to ask me any other questions you may have. Thanks for watching.

This isn't a fair comparison IMO. What you're testing is intentional in the software. Its the throttle curve. kaly has 100% throttle reachable very quicky but the other boards are programmed to ramp up to that throttle to provide a "smoother or safer" experience. You can adjust the throttle response in BLDC tool or the vesc tool....

Erik Sellgren you do bring up a valid point. Thanks for your comments. I do realize that the Kalynyc vesc can be adjusted, although I personally have not tried doing this. I was mostly trying to show the difference in the boards as a consumer might experience and that the kaly has quite a bit more power to offer than the more budget friendly boards. Sorry if I left out some helpful info. Thanks for watching.
