It is so nice to watch a video centered around useful tips instead of "buy this, buy that" then "declutter this, declutter that". My own fault, I think I had lost track of what drew me to TH-cam beauty videos. Thank You Emily!
A few things I would say I wished I knew when starting makeup. 1. I don't necessarily need to do windshield wiper motions on my eyes to define a crease. Every one has different eyes and it takes time to find out what eyeshadow shape looks good on you, not the 16 year old beauty guru. 2. Dried out mascara wands are good for taming my eyebrows,I have dark eyebrows. 3. Not to line just my under eye in eyeliner. I'm thinking all the middle school girls were doing it. 4. Not to be afraid to try something new, whether it be color, style or texture. Makeup should be fun!
I get what you mean! I have droopy-ish eyes and every time I played with my eyeliner or eyeshadows the way TH-cam gurus would it would look off, making my eyes look more droopy. Once I found my eye shape and face shape and applied makeup techniques toward my type of face and eyes, my makeup looked WAAAY better. Their's a video by sephora that helped me to identify my eye shape. It's very simple compared to most that I've seen, if anyone is interested :)
Cristal Villanueva Where did you see the sephora video? I have funky eyeshape too and I think I figured out a way to apply eyeshadow nicely on my eyes, but I still can't do the more "adventurous" eyemakeup. Maybe the video will help?
Inka Saraswati I have droopy hooded eyes and it took me years to find out how to apply eyeshadows in a flattering manner. I started collecting videos on a hooded eye playlist, and maybe it will help you too. My favourite one is video n. 7 from Wayne Goss. th-cam.com/play/PLlMgovIAcbo97KjrCwOmrmxaVwnuTDtOn.html
I'm the same. When I first started I didn't know about the TH-cam beauty community, I only had a mirror to help me and somehow I guessed what was flattering on me. Then I stopped doing eye makeup for a few years, and when I tried again TH-cam threw me off. I have big round eyes, slightly droopy, and the standard TH-cam crease work/lower lashes shading makes them look perfectly spherical. Not pretty. Now I'm trying to remember how I used to do it and improve on that.
Emily could you possibly do a video on what blushes and lip colors go with eyeshadow colors and how to coordinate that so it all looks cohesive? This is what i struggle with the most :)
Ashley Campbell there is no real way to do it. It really is just trial and error. There are "rules" i guess, like if you have a bold eye you should wear a neutral lip, etc. but colors are entirely based on skin color and other things. I know on my skin if i wear "nude" i completely wash out. My version of nude for my skin is brown. Still though make up has no real rules or real right and wrong way. It's all about trial and error and seeing what looks good on you.
Ashley Campbell That would be great. And match to your clothes, too! I never know what to wear with a red shirt. Plus, I'm not very daring. I usually just end up wearing a lip balm with no color. zzzz.........
I am 37 and just started getting into makeup. Before I was on autopilot. I know I'm a late bloomer lol but your videos have SAVED ME! I love how you help beginners. You're amazing! Thank you sooooo much!
I love this video. For the most part, I knew/do all of these tips - but I just love this video because you're just so compassionate and considerate of everyone. I am a single parent and in my 30s. I have just now started to get into makeup. I was in a post-partum slump and finally lost 65 pounds & got a new stylish haircut. I felt my confidence grow more and more. Then I started the whole makeup thing. Watching your videos has given me great insight and understanding of the best brands, and the correct way to apply them. Now, I am gaining even more confidence which I think is important. Not just for myself, but I have to set an example for my daughter. I want her to learn to love herself and take pride in her appearance. Thank you so much for what you do. Julie Doherty Yes!!! I have small lid space but big eyes. I don't think I got this point until my forties and now in my fifties I'm getting some Sigma smaller brushes and it makes putting on my daily makeup fun and pleasurable not frustrating.
Agree! Took me awhile to realize this especially trying to copy other people doing looks, the big brushes weren't doing it for me. Now I realized I can copy a look, but I need to pick up brushes that works for my eye shape and easier for detailed work
Cindy Bee Yes-- I've been thinking about this! I've tried quite a few more since my "affordable brush rave" video where I mainly focused on the complexion brush. Amazing quality!!
emilynoel83 Yes please...I second that! I would like to get a contour brush at Sephora but I am totally confused which one should I get. There are so many choices and not always the most expensive one is best...which I don't mind spending money on one good brush as long as it works perfectly and for yrs to come!
I wish more people would talk about the Up & Up brand brushes more. They are amazing. I do not buy e.l.f. products because of their unwillingness to clarify whether their products contain latex. Up & Up brand brushes are awesome and they just slightly expanded it, but if more people talk about them they might expand more. :)
Cindy Bee I absolutely looooove all of the eco tools brushes! i have a few tutorials and I use them in all my videos and in my every day makeup! They bled so well and pick up so much color! :)
I just want to thank you for this video! I've been trying so hard to do my makeup like these beauty you tubers and I just couldn't 😔 but watching this video really made me look at what I was doing and using. especially the eyeshadow brush tip! smaller ones help so much. my confidence and my makeup game is 100 %better. thank you so much you don't know how much you changed my life!! and that Milan eye primer omg!!!! I slept in my makeup by accident and my shadow was perfect in the morning! best stuff ever. thank you so much!! BTW I binge watch you everyday!! love you xoxoxox
emilynoel83 Thank you sooooo much Emily!!!!! You don't even KNOW how helpful this was. I'm 40 and after an almost 16ish year stint totally makeup-less I've returned to makeup and your channel is mostly responsible for me not looking like a hot mess haha!! I used to be GOTH GOTH GOTH! LOL And althought I still enjoy the "darker" things, I'm just don't feel that white foundation/powder, black lipstick and big black pits for eyes is attractive on me anymore. heh. I try your makeup looks a lot with stuff I have that is same and/or similair in tone/colour. That Milani eyeshadow primer is the BOMB dot com!!! It seriously doesn't BUDGE!!! I can be sweating like a mofo (I live in a desert) and my eyeshadow will look AMAZING from the moment I put it on til I decide to take it off some time later. I highly recommend the Milani eye primer IT RULES! haha I love your channel soooo much!!! I only found you 2 and some years ago but I enjoy everything you put out on this channel and your other channels so much. You're such a sweet person and also totally beautiful!!! Love you!!
I'm 56 yrs and always learning something new from your videos. How bout a video for eyeglass wearers or lipstick/make-up for those with not great looking teeth. Thanks for being YOU!
I have been looking for a video like this! I have watched tips but these were what I needed. I'm 32 and just started in makeup the last few months. Thank you:)
You are so talented and natural in front of the camera Em.... I have been watching you for 5 years now and I never get tired of you, you just keep getting better! Keep rocking girl!!!
I've been into makeup for a couple of years by now, and I still LOVE watching beginner tips, I always take something away from them, that I didn't know. Keep up the good work, Emily - you're an inspiration!
I think tip number 3 is the best of this bunch. It upsets me when people get caught up with wanting to use what so and so says works for them but then you're stuck with a product that does not work for you because we're all different! Also, FINGERS! If you're ever want to pack on eyeshadow and you do not have a sponge tip applicator, fingers are always there! Awesome video, as always (:
You are easily my favorite youtuber, I didn't have an older sister or mom who wore makeup to teach me and I like to credit youtubers like you for being my "big sisters" in teaching me how to make the most of my makeup with videos like this. I now have taught my two younger sisters how to do makeup and will have them watch videos like this with me, thank you💜
Wow...I learned more from your video than I have from 10 other people's video's. It's not only what you say it's it's how you say it and the detail......love detail. I want to get the false eyelash applier-thingy - I think it's just too awkward to apply with your fingers - for those who do - more power to them - but I cannot. Definitely worth a try!!! Thanks, Emily. Do you have a video for mature eyes and tips - even though yours are not mature eyes? I just need tips so I don't look older or tired. I try to avoid powder higher up on my lid and I minimize liner. I DON'T wear lip gloss but I LOVE lipstick. I Know you have more tips in your arsenal!!! Thanks, Emily!🕵️♀️
yes please do a video on a makeup starter kit. I need all the help I can get! I always learn so much from your videos and trust your reviews more than anyone else I have watched. Thank you thank you!!!
I am 52 and I use brushes now for about 5 years, I started using them by watching a lot of TH-cam videos an really happy with them. And primer also. When I started using makeup I was 17 and there was not so much information and I find that a lot of women my age still apply makeup the wrong way. I always watch you but also more mature you tubers because as your skin is aging you need other products. What I like about you is that you always mention if a product is suitable for a certain skin type. I do not always comment but watch everything, thank you Emily! Love from Holland.
I'm 46 yo and have only just really begun to get into makeup within the last year-year & 1/2. It was a "Bucket List" item for me, but I think I've gone way beyond thanks to TH-cam and people like you who've helped so much along the way. Thanks for the tips! #5 I do every night before bed with the elf lip exfoliator and a vitamin E stick.
Would love to see the starter kit. I am far from a beginner, but I love to see the most basics products that a person recommends! like the ultimate holy grail products
I would love to see a beginner makeup products video as well! I love watching your SNAPCHAT stories too! Looooooove this channel. You always put me in the best mood.
I love these tips! I would love to see you do a real time, close up video of eye shadow application. I struggle with placing shadow anywhere other than my lids but I love how your eye shadow always comes out!
Yes! I want to see make up starter kit! Also top 5 and worst 5 of every product from the drugstore, and a challenge: full face only drugstore using your #1 favorite pick of each drugstore product. That would be tough to narrow down. Loooooooove your videos!!!
All the young girls learning about makeup are so lucky that you create these amazing videos. Love these tips and I'll be buying the applicators you mention. Wish your channel had been there for me when I was younger.
I'm 50 years young and i just started getting into makeup about a year ago,i have a good collection now,my draws are packed full of makeup,i love playing around with makeup,i can't get enough.
Love watching all of your Snap Chats! I was wondering could you do a high end video on Lancome products? Also I'd like to see a video during the holiday season showing what store Ulta VS Sephora has the best holiday sets.
Emily, could you please do that updated makeup starter kit?? :D Pretty please? Because I want good quality brushes that can be multifunctional and do the job well without costing so much.
Amazing! I definitely wouldn't consider my a beginner, but I found the tip about using smaller brushes to be helpful! I have that problem with shadows looking great on my eyes until I start layering more and more shadows on top and then everything kind of gets muddled together. I've never thought to use smaller brushes to solve that problem. Thank you for another great video, Emily!
I'm so amazed with every video you produce. I absolutely love the fact that you demonstrate what you're talking about instead of leaving us wonder or redirecting us to another video just to see what you're talking about. You really appreciate n relate with your viewers n I find that amazing ! :)
Thank you SO MUCH for this! I don't consider used a beginner but I have found myself with a muddy mess when doing a dark crease and wondering how your creases always look so perfect! This makes so much sense thank you thank you thank you!!!
This video rings SO true to me! I am 51 years old and literally just a year ago started using face and eye primer, it has changed my make up life! I always wondered why my make up never lasted all day. I have learned so much from you, and these tips are wonderful! I never usually put balm on my lips while applying my makeup, this is a great tip and will hopefully help my lipstick last longer and look better! Thank you so much for all the tips! Oh, and am I too old for false lashes?? I've never tried them....very intimidated!! :(
Awesome tips. Some I knew and some I forgot about. Being a mom of 2 young ones and loving makeup with not a lot of time, returning to the basics that are quick is great.
All great tips, especially the eye primer (I am the Queen of Oily Lids & I invest in my eye primers!). Another tip I'd suggest would be get a good mirror and make sure your lighting is good. If you can, apply your makeup in natural lighting, it makes such a difference. Thanks again! xo Christine
Thanks, Emily, for emphasizing the power of the sponge tip applicator. I use them with less pigmented shadows or in place of the flat shadow brush for application when I want it to go where I want it to go! I tossed all of the applicators in my drugstore shadows and just recently purchased a pack of them to replace them all. They work really well and are underrated. Sandra
For the first time in MANY years, i bought and tried a foundation - the Rimmel Lasting Finish foundation, Match Perfection concealer w/Stay Matte powder. I used the Up n Up complexion brush and a damp blender and i was happy with the results. Since ive entrred my 40's, my complexion just hasnt been the best canvas for foundation. The difference this time was i used all the Emily recommended tools/techniques, but also the shade used. I tried a little darker shade and it was a perfect match!
Did you do the product 101 video that you mentioned in the very beginning of this video? I'd DEFINITELY love to watch. I recently started branching out thanks to stumbling upon your channel. I went from one little make up bag to now having Tupperware drawers. I thank you, my husband does not. 😜 That being said, I'm still very clueless on a lot of terminology and methods - I'm just having fun playing but I think it's time to know what I'm doing instead of just buying random stuff and hoping it sticks. You'll probably never see this comment, but a makeup 101 series would be awesome. Btw, I'm 36 just so you know your audience range when it comes to newbies.
The Milani eye shadow primer never runs out I swear! It such an amazing value, I've used it everyday for almost 2 years now and I'm just on the last ends. It works so well and is extremely affordable
For the buffing brush- I find the ones with slightly longer bristles to be the best because they're so multipurpose. They can be used for foundation, concealer, powder, cream blush, bronzer if you're careful, and really it only takes that one brush(cleaned between steps) to do so much of what's in your routine.
I already do #5, yay! And I would love a video on the best less expensive brushes for beginners and the video you suggested on makeup products for beginners! Your videos are amazingly helpful, thank you so much!!!
By the way, i love the idea of a video for a beginners makeup kit. Even if some arent beginners, watching such a video would be a great refresher or a "back to basics." So yes please!
I think we are due for an updated starter kit. With all the wonderful new products out there now, please do an update! I am not new to makeup, in fact, I went from a full face of Pinterest looking makeup, back to minimalist and basic, for several reasons. Some things I wish I would have known: - You don't need to cover your face with a full coverage foundation everyday. Despite blemishes and unevenness. A light or medium foundation to even things out and pin point conceal with small lip or eye brushes will do wonders. Full coverage foundations all over are great for special occasion makeup. - Just because a brush is called a crease brush, doesn't mean it has to be! I have a smaller face and smaller eyes, many brushes are too big, especially for eyes. Look at the brush and decide where and how it will be best used for you! Thanks for mentioning this Emily! - If you have a dry formulated mascara that hasn't expired, use eye drops to moisten it again, one drop at a time. - Take care of you skin and your health first. Makeup will look best on hydrated, healthy skin and a happy face. - Don't waste money on fancy makeup removers, coconut oil removes anything, including long wearing and waterproof products! I hope this helps some comment readers!
Thank you so much. I discovered the use of a foundation brush after watching your videos this summer and I this wonderful. I am in my 50's and just trying to amp up my make up use a little. I have to work on my eyes a little more.
I've been wearing makeup consistently since I was 16 and was taught to use sponges for foundation. wasn't till I started watching your videos that I decided to try brushes. now I cant and wont go back to sponges!! I LOVE my brushes!!
AWESOME advice...I would be one of those people in my 50's needing advice...considering my original learning process was in the 80's and we ALLLLLLL know I don't want to recreate THAT look!!!
Hi Terri! Ditto that! I use SO many of Emily's techniques and recommendations and its made all the difference. I'm in my mid-40's and i actually used foundation for the 1st time in yrs and all i did was follow differnt pieces of advice i picked up over several of her videos. I was using BB/CC creams because it's more "flaw friendly". Emily has changed makeup for me and i feel so pretty because of what ive learned from her.
I'll be 35 on 9/11 and I'm only just now REALLY starting to get into makeup. I've always worn it, but always the same way (e.g. one neutral shade all over the lid). Now, because of my YT girls [lol], I'm experimenting with VARIOUS shades on my lids, brighter, more daring shades on my lips, and PRIMER! lol [which I've never used before now). Thanks for all your help, Emily, and thanks to your fans who have offered me helpful suggestions as well ;)
I'd love to see a starter kit video! Maybe one with drugstore for the real starters but then show something you'd recommend for someone looking at high end too! Something comparable maybe? I love seeing what people love as their basics! Thank you for another great video!
Hi, Emily- I am in my 60's, but still love using makeup to help me to look my best and give me confidence that I can still look "pretty". Wonderful and practical tips in this video that I look forward to using. Although I can't necessarily use all the advice and products you feature in all your videos, I enjoy watching you. Thanks so much for the video that you did awhile back that featured your mom. That was really helpful too. I don't want to look clownlike after I apply my makeup, but knowing how to amend my makeup techniques to enhance my older face is so appreciated. Kathleen O
Hi Emily, loved this video! I would love to see an expanded video on just makeup brushes; what each type is for, a quick demo on how to use them, etc. Thanks for always sharing your knowledge, you are my go-to beauty/makeup guru! :)
Nivea (or Labello?) has a lipbalm for men. It's in a navy blue tube and it's nearly matte! It's the only balm i use under lipstick. No need for blotting and it's moisturizing and not waxy or thick at all. Not sure if it's available in the US, but worth checking out! xoxo :)
About no. 5: I use an EOS balm just when I start doing my makeup, and then when I'm done with everything else, I use the lip primer from Nyx over the balm, and then my matte lipstick. And it works really really well!
Great video Emily! For us golden oldies, I don't think eye primers were invented yet when I started wearing makeup. When I was younger my eye lids were more oily & eye shadow creased on me. As I got older I started using foundation/concealer with a translucent powder on top. Helped my eye shadows to not crease as well as be the true color they were in the pan. I'm practicing right now with false lashes and I'm bad for getting my fingers stuck to the lash and pulling it loose. I'll have to invest in one of those little trinkets to help with my application. Now that I'm older & drier, lip balms are special to me and my lips. Lipstick lovers can truly appreciate lip balms! I always used the sponge tip applicators till I started watching YT videos then I switched to brushes. Those little things work pretty good. I think no matter how much we know about makeup we can always learn something new and beneficial from others experience. xoDebbie
Emily, I'm new to your channel and I want to say you're great!!! I've been searching for a true honest youtuber like you. You seem so honest about everything and not fake like some of the others I have seen (not downing anyone) This video has helped me so much!!!! I've struggled for years with eyeshadow I just don't have the patience to sit and blend and blend and work with makeup for a hour lol I like to have my makeup on in less than 15 mins. Your videos are great!!! I have loved every single video I have watched!!! Please don't change.. your truly awesome!!! Thanks again for all you do
Great tips! I will share with my 15 year old daughter who is just beginning with makeup. It's always easier to hear from others beside your mom and especially from a guru like you! One day you'll experience this too! Thanks!
Of course snapchat brought me here! You and your little family are just so much fun to watch. Thank you for letting us all into your life :) does not go unnoticed!
My favorite tip is the eyeshadow primer, I'm glad you mentioned it. I had great eyeshadow palettes and never understood why my eyeshadow would fade away! I did watch YT but I would see a primer as just a clear/white cream and didn't think much of it 😅, I soon learned It makes a HUGE difference!!! Love the video Emily! 💞
Thank you so much for this video! I started doing makeup when I was 15 years old and I'm 22 now and wow I wish I had known these tips when I was 15! Love your videos so much please do an updated makeup starter kit! Us makeup junkies can always use more makeup!
I'm 56 and just started wearing false lashes. I thank you for your video you did on lashes. I watched your video more then one time trying to get it down on how to apply them. I love wearing false lashes wish I would of done it years ago. Thanks so much your a good teacher.
Brushes to fit you eye size is a must! Getting these, a shadow primer and especially a fluffy blending brush will be a game changer in how you eye makeup looks. There are excellent quality makeup brushes available and you don't need to spend a weeks' worth of pay to buy them.
Eyeshadow primer changed my life! I remember thinking when I was younger there wasn't any primers on the market and I just assumed that eyeshadow (and all makeup for that fact) just disappeared thorough the day and celeb makeup artists just had some sort of magic that made makeup last!
I agree with everything you said Emily!! Great great tips! Some of my life savers 1. -Q tips,Vaseline, and tissues. I go through TONS. 2. Thick synthetic brushes for my face are my favorite! Sigma makes great ones. 3. Makeup primers and setting sprays actually DO work! I was so skeptical for a while because of how pricey they were, but they really really work! 4. The lighting which you do your makeup on definitely can change things!
It is so nice to watch a video centered around useful tips instead of "buy this, buy that" then "declutter this, declutter that". My own fault, I think I had lost track of what drew me to TH-cam beauty videos. Thank You Emily!
Starter kit video would be really cool :) you could do it with drugstore makeup for people who are just starting and don't want to spend too much :)
papierdet She actually has this video it's a couple years old though.
Yeah an updated one would be great. 😀
Agreed! Looks like as all trust Emily's opinion!
Definitely would like to see an updated starter kit (drugstore)
Agree !
A few things I would say I wished I knew when starting makeup.
1. I don't necessarily need to do windshield wiper motions on my eyes to define a crease. Every one has different eyes and it takes time to find out what eyeshadow shape looks good on you, not the 16 year old beauty guru.

its videos like this that make it clear you are basically the best beauty vlogger on youtube. ❤️
***** I agree. Very practical, useful, and straight to the point.
***** you are so kind! thank you!

Ashley Campbell I totally agree! this would be a great video and I think that Emily would do such a good job with this kind of video!
Megan Rosebaugh I never know what to wear with red either! i would love a video like this!
Oooh! Good idea!
Baby Belle is going to be such a lucky girl when she goes to start makeup!
Alma Heinrichs Ikr imagine she grows up Teenager Bell playing with Emily's makeup collection.
Thy Nguyen lots of expired makeup to play with...
Naomi Williams that's awesome!! thank you so much, Naomi! :)
emilynoel83 I think it's awesome you reply to comments sometimes. It's so sweet!
I am a single parent and in my 30s. I have just now started to get into makeup. I was in a post-partum slump and finally lost 65 pounds & got a new stylish haircut. Not a beginner but I agree with everything you said. Small eye brushes. Yes.
Julie Doherty Yes!!! I have small lid space but big eyes. I don't think I got this point until my forties and now in my fifties I'm getting some Sigma smaller brushes and it makes putting on my daily makeup fun and pleasurable not frustrating.

Could you do a video on the best up & up brushes? (and or drugstore?)
Cindy Bee My favorites are Ecotools, Sonia Kashuk, ELF, and Rite Aid makes some really nice ones.
I wish more people would talk about the Up & Up brand brushes more. They are amazing. I do not buy e.l.f. products because of their unwillingness to clarify whether their products contain latex.
Amazing video..: 42 yr old semi Newbie. I watch your videos religiously and come away with more knowledge each time. ❤️
YESSSS please do an updated starter makeup kit video! I'm not new to makeup, but it can still be educational!
emilynoel83 Thank you sooooo much Emily!!!!!
I highly recommend the Milani eye primer IT RULES! haha
I love your channel soooo much!!! I only found you 2 and some years ago but I enjoy everything you put out on this channel and your other channels so much.
You're such a sweet person and also totally beautiful!!!
Love you!!
Could you do a makeup starter kit for different age groups? Like teens, 20s, 30s and so on. Thank you!
Thank you:)
Amy Grist YAY! So glad!! Thanks for watching, Amy!
Yes! Bring back the makeup starter kit video!
We would love an updated starter makeup kit video !! :) With drugstore products would be great
An updated starter kit would be great!
I now have taught my two younger sisters how to do makeup and will have them watch videos like this with me, thank you💜
My perfect Saturday morning ritual, make my healthy juice, curl up on the couch, and watching my favourite TH-cam beauty expert! Thanks Emily.
I so agree with all of these tips! As a cosmetologist I can honestly say emilynoel83 is 100% correct about this
Wow...I learned more from your video than I have from 10 other people's video's.
Yes! Please do a video on beginner make-up tutorials. You are so talented
Thanks Snapchat! Just made folding laundry MUCH less painful. Happy Saturday! These are spot on!
Thank you so much for this video. I was 53 yrs old before I started to get serious about proper makeup application. Your videos have helped a lot.
I would love to see a beginner makeup products video as well! I love watching your SNAPCHAT stories too! Looooooove this channel. You always put me in the best mood.
Review on the Nyx liquid suede soon?? I've been dying to get these, and now that they're finally online I need to know if they're worth $7 a pop!
Amazing video! I am a beginner (13 years old) and I am always looking for videos like this. And I would love to see an updated starter kit too!!!
All the young girls learning about makeup are so lucky that you create these amazing videos. Love these tips and I'll be buying the applicators you mention. Wish your channel had been there for me when I was younger.
Could you PLEASE do an in depth eyeshadow tutorial?? Placement, technique?? You apply eyeshadow beautifully!!!
Eyeshadow primer changed my makeup life! Also, I now know the problem with my e/s application. I've added this vid to my favorite playlist.
Yes a bare blending fluffy brush is crucial!!!
Love to hear about cleansing & moisturizing products that you use for skin. I shared this video with my tween who is just beginning with light makeup.
You're the best!!!!!! My favorite make-up guru, ever!!! 💋💄💋💄💋💄
A makeup starter kit video would be great !!!!!
Yes! I was looking for a "Basic Makeup" kit vid when I first started!!
C CN AMEN on the natural lighting tip!
It works so well and is extremely affordable
would def love a new makeup starter kit, esp with a tutorial with the products
For the buffing brush- I find the ones with slightly longer bristles to be the best because they're so multipurpose. They can be used for foundation, concealer, powder, cream blush, bronzer if you're careful, and really it only takes that one brush(cleaned between steps) to do so much of what's in your routine.
Thank you Emily! This video is what I've been looking for, now I understand what each makeup brush is used for.
I already do #5, yay! And I would love a video on the best less expensive brushes for beginners and the video you suggested on makeup products for beginners! Your videos are amazingly helpful, thank you so much!!!
By the way, i love the idea of a video for a beginners makeup kit. Even if some arent beginners, watching such a video would be a great refresher or a "back to basics."
So yes please!
I think we are due for an updated starter kit. With all the wonderful new products out there now, please do an update! I am not new to makeup, in fact, I went from a full face of Pinterest looking makeup, back to minimalist and basic, for several reasons. Some things I wish I would have known:
- You don't need to cover your face with a full coverage foundation everyday.
Thanks for the tips! The makeup colors you are wearing would look great with rich caramel & dark golden highlights around the face!!
Kathleen O
I actually started using the milani primer because of you! And im so grateful it really changed everything!!! :)
Loved this and I absolutely love that you mentioned sponge tips! Great video ♥ Elle
There are so many tips videos out there but these tips are beyond awesome, fresh and the content is phenomenal. Thank you Emily. Thank you, thank you!
This is such a great video! I learned so much about makeup from you growing up! :)
I love you Hollie!
Thanks again for all you do
That Up & up brush is amazing
I've been binge watching your videos all through spring break, and goodness gracious you're absolutely gorgeous
YES PLEASE DO A STARTER KIT VIDEO
Thank you Emily! This video is exactly what I was looking for. Now I'm clear on the use of each makeup brush and a few extra tips.
Brushes to fit you eye size is a must! Getting these, a shadow primer and especially a fluffy blending brush will be a game changer in how you eye makeup looks. There are excellent quality makeup brushes available and you don't need to spend a weeks' worth of pay to buy them.
A drugstore and high end started kit would be amazing! Thank you for some great tips :)
u have the best family ever! u have the definition of the perfect and happy family! i enjoy watching ur snaps and seeing ur baby. too adorable
yes please do a must have makeup starter kit!! thanks
It's like I love you even more after every video, you have great content and you are amazing with makeup! Thanks ♡
