The Who are a great British rock band formed in London in 1964. They are considered one of the most influential rock bands of the 20th century & have sold over 100 million records worldwide. They have so many great songs such as "I Can't Explain", "The Kids Are Alright", "My Generation", "Baba O'Riley", "Won't Get Fooled Again", "Substitute", "Happy Jack", "I Can See For Miles", "Behind Blue Eyes", "Boris The Spider", "Pictures Of Lily", "Magic Bus", "Pinball Wizard" etc.

Who are you is not a question. I am The Who and so are you. I love that communal continuity that The Who have always had. The Who cant exist without the audience and the audience cant exist without The Who. Illuminating the audience during See me, feel me. The relationship between the Punk and the Godfather in Quadrophenia. Etc etc ....

The Who are one of the great classic rock bands. Roger Daltrey is the lead vocalist and has an awesome voice. Keith Moon, the drummer, had a unique style but sadly died much too young by drinking himself to death.

I really like you because you go into it without watching it first. Just found you so i will follow you now because of what you do. Im half-black and half-white and i listen to all kinds of music but Rock is one of my favorite to play on the drums. And you might not believe me. Im 62 years old and still play drums. I was in band in school.

Cant believe you didn’t recognise their music from the CSI tv series..... the original and the first 4 spin off CSI series used 4 different WHO songs as their intro ( one song was used by 2 different series).
Then there are the 2 or more Rock Opera’s they wrote, created, performed on stage and turned into movies.. lol
Tommy was probably the most successful Rock Opera, and regarded as the first...... but I’m sure someone else performed a Rock Opera or at least wrote one before Tommy.

@SINGER The 1970’s was a decade overflowing with American & British rock bands who experimented with every kind of musical instrument and supporting equipment to push and stretch the boundaries of all their young musicianship imaginations. It was jam packed with newly acquired knowledge and skills that laid down the foundation for its continual progression into and thru the ‘ip’s & 90’s, which resulted in a 30 -year run FULL of the absolute BEST discography in young, raw talent.. instrumentally as well as lyrically and vocally.
By the time digital, (leading to and by the 2000’s) Internet, voiceover/auto tune etc all were largely honing tools that over time inched their way past the honing process and moved into the creative process of song-making. This , in many music-lover’s opinions, is what spelled the end of showcasing (or growing) raw talent, on a mass scale as in the past, as well as encouraging the interest in or development of live instrument performance. A malaise hung over what used to be a live/bustling music-making art, and changed it into a mostly lackluster, very artificial industry that lost a lot of respect. Why?- Because everybody knew that anyone could have a song “created” simply from a computer app and ZERO actual voice or instrumental talent would need to exist in order to do it. Nither a band. Yes, mixing and producing talent would be needed.. but imo those aspects should make up a fractional percentage of the song - not the entirety of it.
I highly encourage you to watch as many diff live performances (as opposed to “official music-videos” as you can from those decades, because without even knowing you personally OR which band you’ll choose, I can confidently tell you that you WILL be SHOCKED numerous times and you WILL be IMPRESSED as hell.
How do I already know ?
    -Because EVERYONE is.
    - Because you don’t see ANYthing like that today… not even close.

Keith Moon was known as "The Octopus" drummer as no one was as wild as Keith on the Kit. The bassist John, is in a league of his own when it comes to the bass as he was originally a trumpet player so he was lightning fast playing with 3 fingers as aposed to the usual 1 or 2 or thumbing. Super entertaining to watch the skill of these 2 guys

The Who have been favourites of mine since they started my sister still has part of their guitar ,,they used to smash them at the end of a gig,she has it on her keyring. The rock opera Tommy that they wrote I had 4 different versions of it ,the original the film an accustic and one with an orchestra. All phenominal. Pete Townsend was the main writer and his swinging arm guitar playing legendary.

The Who; Led Zeppelin; Grand Funk Railroad; Cream; Deep Purple; Carlos Santana and The Jimmy Hendrix Experience put forth some of the most explosive and unique rock n roll sounds ever. Id put Pink Floyd, Rolling Stones, Beatles and such in another super group category and of course The Grateful Dead are in a category all their own. All of these and more offer great super group experiences forged in the fire of the 1960s. But no one rocked harder on the drums than Keith Moon and John Bonham.

If you have ever watched any version of CSI the chorus is the theme song. Roger Daltry, the lead singer, can do it all from rock to opera.

There was no real music video because this was before MTV. This is as close as it gets.
This was recorded in May 1978. Drummer Keith Moon died in September 1978. He was a legendary drummer and a legendary party animal.
He was trying to get sober, but he died of an overdose of a sobriety drug called Heminevrin combined with alcohol...which he was obviously not supposed to be drinking while on Heminevrin.

What supposedly caused the Cincinnati tragedy was fans for outside waiting to get in and they heard the who doing their sound check and they thought the concert had started so they rushed the doors and people were crushed against the doors and stamp heated the band didn't even know what was going on
