The Who are a British rock band formed in London in 1964. They are considered one of the most influential rock bands of the 20th century & have sold over 100 million records worldwide. They have so many great songs such as "I Can't Explain", "The Kids Are Alright", "My Generation", "Substitute", "Happy Jack", "I Can See For Miles", "Baba O'Riley", "Behind Blue Eyes", "Boris The Spider", "Pictures Of Lily", "Magic Bus", "Who Are You" etc. The group's 1969 concept album "Tommy" included the single "Pinball Wizard".

Craziest drummer ever Keith Moon Legend 🇬🇧.

  • @killiansred1000
    @killiansred1000 2 ปีที่แล้ว +45

The drummer was Keith Moon whose nickname was ‘Moon the Loon,” because he was wild and unpredictable. He had a problem with drugs and alcohol and died in 1978 caused by an overdose on a sedative. Moon was only 32 years old. He is regarded as one of rock’s greatest drummers.
A little more info: Moon refused to play the same thing twice.
Before playing on the Smothers Brothers TV show he set an explosive in his bass drum. The explosive went off while the band was playing-on TV. A lot more happens after that. Look for a video on YT.

Thanks for keeping great music from the 70's and 80's alive! Especially among us Black folks. :) Because we listened to ALL of it. From The Who to Stevie Wonder. Great times for music back then. Revolutions all over the place!!!
The Who will ALWAYS be a classic band. They were a part of the British Invasion that gave us so much incredible music! Including bands like, The Beatles. This song is also used in the opening of the show, CSI - Miami (little trivia for ya). And the "sci-fi" sound is the keyboard/organ. :)
*Would love though to see you react to, Prince, Tom Petty, Steve Winwood, Jeff Lynne and others -- "While My Guitar Gently Weeps". A song written by the late George Harrison (of The Beatles). It was a tribute to him by some of the greatest in the industry. The solo by Prince though - just seals the deal!

IMO, one of the greatest songs ever written, with the best scream in rock and lyrics that are still as relevant as when they were written. The message is that every government becomes corrupt in the end. Doesn't matter who you vote for, nothing changes. You vote one lot out (or have a revolution), and welcome in the new leaders, but the "new boss [is the] same as the old boss". The Who (not black - three white and one half white/half Chinese) were one of the best bands to come out of the UK in the 60s - just below the Beatles and Rolling Stones in standing. So many great songs, from early rock pop songs like "My Generation" and "I Can't Explain" to epics like this and "Who Are You". Huge influence on everyone from Van Halen to Living Colour, too. A deep well to keep exploring!

    • @ptournas

According to Pete Townsend most people get the meaning of the song wrong. It wasn't anti-government and it wasn't anti or pro revolution. It was just about our right not to get involved in other people's causes and rhetoric.
In his own words "Strangely enough, it’s the kind of song which is adopted for many causes, you know. We have to keep reminding people that this is about our right to stand away from causes. You know, we choose not to be fooled by your rhetoric, by your politicisation, by your spin. We think for ourselves, and we also have the right to opt out"

The Who came out after 9/11, to NYC, to play a set at Madison Square Garden for first responders and their families only. It was put together by Tom Hanks. They finished the set with this song. A few days after 9-11 happened, there was a national live TV concert event that took place in NYC to raise money for the terrible tragedy that happened. The WHO was a fantastic band, one of the best British rock bands of all time. The singer is Roger Daltrey was an amazing singer and the rest of the band was top tier in playing and writing. Their drummer Keith Moon, was one of the all-time best drummers, period. Thank you for your reaction. I think the line is "And you know that the hypnotized never lie." If not, I have been singing it wrong for decades, which would not surprise me, actually. (Philosophic - Fill-Oh-Soffic). The panning is part of the miracles of analog tape and stereo sound. Those bands back then loved using that panning and after coming off of everything being monaural sound we were so excited to have stereo and so were the musicians. These guys are white Brits, all of them but yes they were influenced by many of the black musicians they grew up listening to. I've missed you, good to see you back.

The who was awesome live. I remember when our fairgrounds use to have concerts when I was a kid in the 80s. It was a good experience.

Loving your reaction 🤣 You need to do more of The Who and Roger Daltrey. I would recommend Baba O'Reilly, also known as teenage wasteland. Keith Moon was a drumming legend🎶💙✊

Killer tune! Alice Cooper once said 'Everything you’ve heard about Alice Cooper , you can believe maybe 40 percent of it. Everything you’ve ever heard about Keith Moon is true - and you’ve only heard 10 percent of it.' And Joe Walsh ‘The most terrifying thing that ever happened to me was that Keith Moon decided he liked me.’

Back in the day we had 4 speakers and they recorded songs in quad so you hear different instruments in different speakers. It was great!! Till one speaker went out lol. Glad you're back. Try Whole lotta love from Led Zeppelin with those headphones 🎧

"Meet the new boss same as the old boss" Truer words have never been spoken. A bit like George Carlin describing our political system back in 1996 "garbage in garbage out".

They performed this song at Live Aid in 1985 , Roger Daltrey, the lead vocalist was awesome on stage ! I love your new set up !❤ With those headphones, it opens up a whole new life to music you've reacted to in the past , I'd listen to those songs on the new headphones in some spare time !

Hey senior video it's good to see you're back you know this song has such an interesting backstory Pete Townshend was struggling with his drug addiction and there was a starter that came up with a method of hooking electrons up to drug addicts and when they would take their injection the doctor would record their brain waves and then he would take those brainwaves and then turn them into sound frequencies and you was using this to help addicts deal with her addiction so he suggested this mess into Pete Townshend soapy tried it out and you put the headphones on and listen to the sounds and he was so impressed by what he was hearing the winning went back to the studio he took his arm synthesizer and programmed it to emulate The Sounds he had heard at the doctor's office so it's kind of an ironic twist because you see the sound really is a very pleasant sound and it's almost like how you would feel if somebody's trying to seduce you into a nice calm state like everything's alright but then Here Comes Rodger Daltrey screaming at the top of his lungs like wake the fuk up alright my goofy friend I will check you on the next drop
