I can proudly confirm I saw that building from construction. I used to take that road to my office. I was super surprised I saw change happening every day.
The thing that I love about our Drdo and Hal is that they're developing the 5th gen fighter on their own not taking any help from LM or Rollse Royace or any big Aerospace companies just one thing is needed engine I believe that if we continue trying we will be able to build it
One mistake, one version is 5th generation, and second version will be 5.5 generation. AMCA Mk1 will not have supercruise capability, it will be available in Mk2. Mk1 will have retractable IR sensor will Mk2 will have F-35 style EOTS
Even though I am a proud Indian, I believe we are too late for AMCA....the technologies required to match F-35 or J-20 are still a long way to go... AMCA is atleast 10 years late...we should have started earlier..... fund issues are also there....
As much as I'm excited for Indian Air Force to get AMCA, I don't think it'll get IOC till 2045 and FOC till 2055 and receive them in good numbers till 2070 and by that time it will already be outdated
Until we make our own engine it is not indigenes . Tejas have American engine. Think of it during war time.. If they don't provide us with the engine. A blank shell can't fly right??
DRDO will not develop Naval Version of AMCA or SU-30 MKI as Navy is operating MiG-29K Naval Fighter Jets and has planned to induct Indigenous TEDBF Fighter Jets which will be opertated from Aircraft Carriers. So there will be no Naval Version of AMCA.
This project is also going to be late(10-15) just like Tejas an Vikrant, In the end we have buy Russian or Western Aircraft to counter China and Pakistan's 5 gen Aircraft. as China already have one ,soon its export version will export to Pak , just like Jf-17.

I think the engine of AMCA should have been made 10 years ahead of other fighter aircrafts.
