Lumix S5II & S1R shooter here. Coming from Fuji, it's great to see how camera should work like! 😊 I mean, even the older DFD absolutely beats everything stacked sensor can do on Fuji.
To add on to your xh2s stuff since I’m on my wits end with mine. The coating for the evf started chipping off, the af has been a downgrade from my a7r3, the flip out screen became super loose very early on, and now my hdmi port doesn’t work anymore. Needless to say, I’m not having a great time 😊 But the photos and videos look great. I’m also glad not having to carry full frame glass
Yeah not having to carry full frame glass was the one of the biggest benefits, but given I used it with the 16-55 most of the time there wasn’t much difference between that and like a sigma 24-70 2.8 on full frame lol (like 100g more) Such a shame to see how Fuji cooked that camera especially given how good their older cameras were!! Not impressed at all.
I shoot with a GRIIIx, and generally don't shoot flash, but I get your reasoning. The lens and sensor combo, and its resultant sharpness, feels just incomparable to be though. I am very intrigued with your take on the GRD though, and have been eyeing that as a second camera.
It’s a very special camera that GRD, my advice is to get either the 3 or the 4 - the 4 is technically better as it has image stabilisation and a better AF system but is pretty expensive, although now looking on eBay it seems like the 3 has just caught up to the 4 in price, as the 4 seems most uncommon out of the bunch. The 1 had a different sensor size and the 1 and 2 inferior lenses so I’d avoid them.
@@rudermanphoto Yeah, the prices of all the GRs are insane right now. I recently sold my older GRIIIx (2000is shutter count, hairline crack on the screen) to a well known website for $900, and they initially relisted it for over $1400 (they've since dropped it to around $1000). I then went out and bought a new Urban Edition that just happened to show up on B&H. I'll wait on a GRD until the prices cool, as they are current going for $500+ for the III and IV, as for now the IIIx suffices.
Great ranking, I wish thoes Xpro having builtin flash, same like the Ricoh GR III/IIIx, a workaround camera not having pop up flash is kinda deal breaker to me
@@TungstenOvergaard Yup, could be a workaround, only with Fuji where we have a few small and compact options. Other brand doesn't have those tiny flashes. It is still inconvenient and extruding on top, the look with flash is not good, also setting up time. I broke EF-X8 once when I fell with my hand pushed on the flash. Popup flash is normally hidden in body which is much safer.
@@Ming3r All X-Txx have popup flash, but we are talking about X-Pro here. Popup flash is being used in another kind of photography, exactly night photography. Or when you going out in sunny day, bring an ND filter to get dark and fill flash to the subject while shooting opposite to the sun. If you are not using it, you are wasting one of the best feature Fuji provide, as Fuji built flash provide very nice and pleasing quality
Regarding how simple it is to shoot with the X-Pro1 or the Leica M8: I think having a simple shooting experience is in part the responsibility to use a camera well. My X-Pro3 has all kinds of complicated features, but I pretty much exclusively use the optical finder with center focus single shot and I rarely if ever open the LCD. For me this is a very simple and consistent setup, the camera *allows it*, but ultimately I'm the one to choose use it in a simple way. I also love how it's become common to talk about sensors like film, but in a subjective way. Personally for me the X-Pro 2 generation of X-trans sensor was the most beautiful. I like the usability of the X-Pro 3 better, but I miss the colours. Interestingly I had the X-M1 which shared a sensor with the X-Pro1 (despite being tiny) and I didn't actually take that much to it's colours myself (though your images with the 1 look great though!).
It was a very fun video to watch. I had a GR II and I like GR III a lot more for 3 reasons, 1) it's even more compact; 2) the screen is extremely bright 3) it feels like a camera from the future even though it's from 2018. The choice of colors is also a nice thing to have.
Guess I could watch you tell anything simply because of the accent (love it) and the vibe you give off. As always, enjoy when you insert those pictures from Belarus :)
Thank you so much!! I love throwing photos of Belarus into my videos, love that country so much and can’t wait to return sometime in the hopefully not to distant future!
Geez, I would have bought the RZ67 off you if I knew you were selling! I bought RB67 2 months ago (without lens) for quite cheap I reckon, but then I realised after the fact that the lever and shutter button mechanism is jamming and in dire need of servicing :( Any recommendation where can I send it for servicing in Melbourne? And I do think your GRD video inflated the price in the second hand market lol, been looking for 1 at a decent price for months but no dice.
I had it up for over a month on fb marketplace, took bloody ages to sell lol. The only place I know that can service them is Vintech in the city, but beware it’s like a 6-8 week wait minimum and it’s fairly expensive too, you may be better off just buying a new body - servicing the RZ67 I was quoted $500 for a full overhaul and CLA - considering you can buy the body only for that kinda money it didn’t make sense, so that’s how I ended up with two cameras haha
Wow, wonderful comparisons! I recently contacted Fujifilm USA to ask if they still support the X Pro 1. Unfortunately, they informed me that due to lack of parts they no longer support the X Pro 1, XE 1, nor XT 1. I've been considering buying a Pro 1 or an XE 1 but now I'm not sure. Do you think it's worth it? Thanks. 🙂
I still consider it a worthwhile purchase! Mine is from the very first batch of X-Pro1’s and is still going strong - unlike the M8 which would cost more then an entire XPro1 to repair should something break on it I don’t feel too bad about using the XP1 and enjoying it - if it does die a new one isn’t too expensive thankfully. I haven’t heard of any horror stories regarding them breaking either, seems like the early Fuji stuff was built properly and to last a long time :)
After owning numerous cameras from different brands for the past 20 years, the Fuji Xpro1 is at the very top of the list. Its imperfections and flaws only makes it more enjoyable and perfect. My Leica M10 R comes in second place.

I just love using Fujifilm cameras. Even though I'm considering getting the A7RV, I won't get rid of my X system stuff.

Cannot be a deal breaker when you have tiny flashes for less than 40€$ . You have an easy workaround!

If only it had a pop up flash!
It would have been perfect 🤩
Amazing video. Inspiring me to do a ranking aswell

Came for rank stayed for the model 😂
You’re the one who made me buy an XPro1. Got it for NZ$750, really good condition. Hope it’s worth it.😅
You are gonna love it!!! Get a Zeiss Touit next!
Ricoh🥴 XE3👍
Funny enough got an X100T and was debating that and an X-Pro 1 but this video is giving me major FOMO now!
Get an X-Pro1!!
Lol random rich Piana sighting
Had to throw it in there, RIP to the king.
I don't understand why you like Ricoh, my phone is better
