May is also a very tough budget month for my family too. My hubby and I got 0.00 for our allowance this month and we didn’t get to fund any sinking funds. We are a month ahead in our finances, so we need to make a lot more money this month to fund June fully and to make up for the lack of funds in May. We got this Jennifer!!

I'm sorry to hear things were so tough this week : ( I admire you for being so honest! Something I noticed though- what about gas for your car? I'm not sure one tank of guess can last 2 weeks. You might need to budget for that too. I know it's hard but just know it's not only you - a lot of the creators that I watch that went full time with their stickers/small businesses are experiencing the same thing. Times have really changed, people are no longer stuck in their house all day (so they're going out spending their money on others things) and the cost of living is so expensive now. People just aren't spending money on things like stickers as much. You're definitely not the only one going through this, just know it's not your fault and nothing to be ashamed of, you're working so hard and doing your best! I think teaming up with David to make patterns is a great idea, that's a great way to diversify your shop. If you wanna keep using etsy as your main source of income you're gonna have to think of ways to pivot, but I'm sure it's possible. I know happy planners are super popular, maybe if you switch to doing plan with me's in a happy planner that could help boost sales too! Also a small suggestion, if you're open to it, perhaps you could make an amazon wishlist where supporters can buy you items? I've purchased from these before for other creators, it doesnt show us your address or anything, it just lets us buy the item and have it shipped to you. You can list household items (soap, paper products, cleaners, medicine cabinet items, boxed snacks, etc) and clothing items you need on it, and even things like games Logan wants.

I’m so glad you’re adding HP and I do think the adding of the physical BBP back will help with sales especially if you start early releases for holidays. 🎉❤🎉 The rule of thumb in business is never give up the first 5 years because those years are all about learning and establishing. If after 5 years it’s not picking up then it’s possibly not meant to be. But you are right on track and I think you’ll do great! You definitely have a great support team!
I can tell you you aren’t alone. So many people are struggling right now. My husband is getting a second job and I do a side hustle that brings in some every week. Everything is just so expensive and incomes aren’t going up. I believe you can work get through this. It’s hard to stay positive but hopefully I can send some good energy your way.

That is why there was a cushion for time like this. Cushion = grace. I had do that with my Target credit card because overtime end for the season. I have start living in the reqular amount with mo overtime. It time to charnge tfor next 3 month.

Thank you for sharing your journey. Maybe David can also design other planner stickers for your shop. Like icon and task stickers. All the planner things. Don't limit yourself to one thing or one style. The budgeting, planning, and decorative planning communities are continually growing. See what some of the other shops are offering or look on pinterest to generate ideas that fit your design style. Perhaps design a line of homeschooling sticker kits for both parents and students and/or a homeschooling planner download. Maybe a summer activity kit or guide so that children are still learning over the summer break. The possibilities are endless. Use your 20 years of education to your advantage. Collaborate with your youngest son to develop product ideas. Start mapping out ideas for the next 6 months to a year. Be blessed. You got this Jennifer! This set back is a set up for a step up.
Honestly Jennifer your honesty, vulnerability, and real life situations is the reason I watch your videos and am glad I found your channel. So many other budgeting people here on youtube are just not relatable and honestly was making me feel more defeated. We are also trying to make our way out of debt and have a special needs toddler who requires a lot of other expenses. I wouldn't trade it for the world, but to say it doesn't affect our budget would simply not be true. My husband has also been out of work unexpectedly the last several weeks with no official return date. He was hospitalized and has had three surgeries so far so this video came out at the perfect time for my situation as my husband has run of out leave/ect. so we are experiencing a serious loss of income and honestly there have been days where I have been so nervous about it. I know God will help us through, but it is difficult. Praying for you and your family and I just want to say thank you again for showing us the sometimes unexpected, messy parts.

Have you considered shopping sales and creating a grocery stockpile to help during times when your income is down? Groceries are such a huge expense and if you have a stockpile, you can pantry cook during hard times.
You'll get through this!! We've had our fair share of times like this and then some. Hindsight, those times taught me how to be more resourceful and how to find the little things to make it better. I did the pantry challenge this year and it was eye opening how much I could make for meals with what I had, and it also showed where I lacked in food security. You got this!

I have been there done that so don’t feel bad. There are so many of us struggling right now. Thank the good Lord above for food pantries or we would have been in worse situation than we were. If you have pantries in your area, don’t hesitate to use them. The first time I went I felt terrible, like I was a failure in not being able to provide a basic necessity for my family, but the people there were so nice and friendly. They even gave me extra food and loaded it in my car for me. Now I am able to give back to them and always give them donations every time I get paid. So chin up! It will be ok. [[HUGS]]

Oh I love the idea of you two designing patterns! Hope you show us how to find this for those that are interested! And don’t ever apologize! You were very brave on doing this budget setup. You could have easily lied or made adjustments to “make it look good” but we are here because it’s real, raw and relatable! The outlook you have in finding joy in everyday life makes us other low income households feel seen as we don’t get to do luxury things either. I know it’s too late and depending on what you find for a part time job…might be worth looking into crossing guards at the school…couple of hours a day as I am hoping fall will be a busy time of year for you in the shop! Would provide steady income (maybe not much but it would help).

Hey Jennifer, I haven’t reached the end of the video yet, but I just wanted to say do not feel like a failure or that you’ve lost the battle being a full-time TH-camr and Etsy has its ups and downs with payouts no matter how hard you work! There is not very many people who can make a full-time living out of either one of these platforms. An extra income is always going to be a blessing, regardless! Have you actually looked into doing Amazon customer service from home? You would take a training session with Amazon and then you would answer calls from home which would allow you to stay in the house with your son Logan at the same time instead of going out and doing a traditional job. I think the hours are flexible but I think you sign up for certain times during the week and this would allow you to keep again a more flexible schedule, but still bringing more additional income into the house. There are other avenues you can take besides a traditional 9-to-5 job, which would keep you out of the house for longer periods and I know right now Logan need you more at home than outside the house. I’m glad you’re bringing back more videos and I’m glad that you’re putting extra items into your Etsy shop and I cross my fingers that this pans out and big ways for you and your family! I know right now it’s an emotional roller coaster situation, because if anybody loses income, it’s never a good thing, but you were in your husband have plans and you have a back up source right now, but definitely look into some stay at home jobs that you could possibly do as well! Keep your head up you’re gonna get through this and you’re going to find additional streams of income that are going to help support your family! 16:41

I’ve watched and liked this video on both mine and my husbands account plus have let older videos of yours play on his account today while I’ve been doing some other things. Also glad to hear you and David will be designing stuff together, I have wondered for a while why he wasn’t designing patterns with you as a way to cut costs.
Inflation is hitting so hard. My car insurance increased substantially and I called and of course due to inflation of parts they have to increase there prices. We are getting hit in every direction. We are only 2 but we take $150 out each week for groceries, spending money, dining out and misc. we usually have some left over. We watch all sales. When we eat out we drink water, which I prefer. At home we make fresh tea, coffee. We cook enough one night to have leftovers the next. We always have Friday night dinners out. I think the key is to stock up when there are sales. Sometimes we go over but it’s when we buy a lot of meat at one time. It’s like a balancing act. At the beginning of each year I go into couponing mode and for a couple months I stock up on toiletries and paper products.
I have watch youtube since the beginning. Your youtube channel name is important and life in envelope does not sound like a budget channel. Just something to thing about .... there is alot of books on improving youtube channel on amazon....

You did not fail at anything. You grew from this. I lost more hours than expected at work this week, and my income will be under 600.00 this check. My check covers variable expenses as well, and i was placed on a 1200 calorie diet to boot. I have faith that you both will make this work. Once this month is over, you both will come out stronger. Just remember what Dory said,'Just keep swimming!' She makes me feel better knowing if she can push on, then so can i. We both have this budget, do not worry. I wish you all the best of luck, and remember the road is trailing off. Getting a summer job will help bring in more income, but that is your families decision & i wish you the best of luck. You've got this! I've really been enjoying the vlogs and I can't wait to see what you and David come up with. You have so many good plans in place. I use BBP, only the bill pay tracker, so I don't "need" stickers, but now I really want to get a mystery kit because it sounds so fun! If you need good pantry challenge channels, there are so many good ones that I can list, and I'm sure other subscribers know of others too. I am "weird" and like watching pantry challenge type videos/series, cooking type channels, etc for ideas and just to see what they come up with.

Hi Jennifer, i am sorry your shop is having a hard week! I know you have mentioned you can't go back to teaching, but have you considered going back to a school district job as an aide? There is so much less pressure in that role and you would still get the benefit of a steady income? Just a thought. i see lots of people suggesting to bring back buy me a coffee but I think looking at a more long term solution is the best idea. that doesn't mean you have to give up on the shop; you can do both!! Also, i was going to buy my first TBM planner when i found out they were gone until this fall, and am still trying things out until then, but haven't loved anything. I think Fall will be great for you when the new TBM planner comes out

Honey I cried many days about money and not seeing my kids because of the hours I have to put in. Now I feel so close to not having to exhaust myself anymore. 😊

Don't limit yourself to one thing or one style. The budgeting, planning, and decorative planning communities are continually growing. See what some of the other shops are offering or look on pinterest to generate ideas that fit your design style.
Perhaps design a line of homeschooling sticker kits for both parents and students and/or a homeschooling planner download. Maybe a summer activity kit or guide so that children are still learning over the summer break. The possibilities are endless. Use your 20 years of education to your advantage. Collaborate with your youngest son to develop product ideas. Start mapping out ideas for the next 6 months to a year.

Honestly Jennifer your honesty, vulnerability, and real life situations is the reason I watch your videos and am glad I found your channel. So many other budgeting people here on youtube are just not relatable and honestly was making me feel more defeated. We are also trying to make our way out of debt and have a special needs toddler who requires a lot of other expenses. I wouldn't trade it for the world, but to say it doesn't affect our budget would simply not be true. My husband has also been out of work unexpectedly the last several weeks with no official return date. He was hospitalized and has had three surgeries so far so this video came out at the perfect time for my situation as my husband has run of out leave/ect. so we are experiencing a serious loss of income and honestly there have been days where I have been so nervous about it. I know God will help us through, but it is difficult. Praying for you and your family and I just want to say thank you again for showing us the sometimes unexpected, messy parts.
Sending many hugs to you, girl! This is just a season and y’all will make it through. Have you considered shopping sales and creating a grocery stockpile to help during times when your income is down? Groceries are such a huge expense and if you have a stockpile, you can pantry cook during hard times.
You'll get through this!! We've had our fair share of times like this and then some. Hindsight, those times taught me how to be more resourceful and how to find the little things to make it better.
I did the pantry challenge this year and it was eye opening how much I could make for meals with what I had, and it also showed where I lacked in food security.

I have been there done that so don’t feel bad. There are so many of us struggling right now. Thank the good Lord above for food pantries or we would have been in worse situation than we were. If you have pantries in your area, don’t hesitate to use them. The first time I went I felt terrible, like I was a failure in not being able to provide a basic necessity for my family, but the people there were so nice and friendly. They even gave me extra food and loaded it in my car for me. Now I am able to give back to them and always give them donations every time I get paid. So chin up! It will be ok. [[HUGS]]

And don’t ever apologize! You were very brave on doing this budget setup. You could have easily lied or made adjustments to “make it look good” but we are here because it’s real, raw and relatable! The outlook you have in finding joy in everyday life makes us other low income households feel seen as we don’t get to do luxury things either.
I know it’s too late and depending on what you find for a part time job…might be worth looking into crossing guards at the school…couple of hours a day as I am hoping fall will be a busy time of year for you in the shop! Would provide steady income (maybe not much but it would help).

It won't seem like it for the first few 6 all of a sudden, you'll see you survived it last time, and you'll copy over how you did it or adapt another method to it. You'll evolve your situation if that makes sense
Hey Jennifer, I haven’t reached the end of the video yet, but I just wanted to say do not feel like a failure or that you’ve lost the battle being a full-time TH-camr and Etsy has its ups and downs with payouts no matter how hard you work! There is not very many people who can make a full-time living out of either one of these platforms. An extra income is always going to be a blessing, regardless! Have you actually looked into doing Amazon customer service from home? You would take a training session with Amazon and then you would answer calls from home which would allow you to stay in the house with your son Logan at the same time instead of going out and doing a traditional job. I think the hours are flexible but I think you sign up for certain times during the week and this would allow you to keep again a more flexible schedule, but still bringing more additional income into the house. There are other avenues you can take besides a traditional 9-to-5 job, which would keep you out of the house for longer periods and I know right now Logan need you more at home than outside the house. I’m glad you’re bringing back more videos and I’m glad that you’re putting extra items into your Etsy shop and I cross my fingers that this pans out and big ways for you and your family! I know right now it’s an emotional roller coaster situation, because if anybody loses income, it’s never a good thing, but you were in your husband have plans and you have a back up source right now, but definitely look into some stay at home jobs that you could possibly do as well! Keep your head up you’re gonna get through this and you’re going to find additional streams of income that are going to help support your family! 16:41

I’ve watched and liked this video on both mine and my husbands account plus have let older videos of yours play on his account today while I’ve been doing some other things. Also glad to hear you and David will be designing stuff together, I have wondered for a while why he wasn’t designing patterns with you as a way to cut costs.
Inflation is hitting so hard. My car insurance increased substantially and I called and of course due to inflation of parts they have to increase there prices. We are getting hit in every direction. We are only 2 but we take $150 out each week for groceries, spending money, dining out and misc. we usually have some left over. We watch all sales. When we eat out we drink water, which I prefer. At home we make fresh tea, coffee. We cook enough one night to have leftovers the next. We always have Friday night dinners out. I think the key is to stock up when there are sales. Sometimes we go over but it’s when we buy a lot of meat at one time. It’s like a balancing act. At the beginning of each year I go into couponing mode and for a couple months I stock up on toiletries and paper products.

Sending positive vibes to you & the family. This may be tough, but it is a life lesson. You know what needs to be changed, and you are capable of making it work for the family. You did not fail at anything. You grew from this. I lost more hours than expected at work this week, and my income will be under 600.00 this check. My check covers variable expenses as well, and i was placed on a 1200 calorie diet to boot. I have faith that you both will make this work. Once this month is over, you both will come out stronger. Just remember what Dory said,'Just keep swimming!' She makes me feel better knowing if she can push on, then so can i. We both have this budget, do not worry. I wish you all the best of luck, and remember the road is trailing off. Getting a summer job will help bring in more income, but that is your families decision & i wish you the best of luck. I will continue to watch more videos that i have truly missed. Best of luck & Just keep swimming.

You've got this! I've really been enjoying the vlogs and I can't wait to see what you and David come up with. You have so many good plans in place. I use BBP, only the bill pay tracker, so I don't "need" stickers, but now I really want to get a mystery kit because it sounds so fun! If you need good pantry challenge channels, there are so many good ones that I can list, and I'm sure other subscribers know of others too. I am "weird" and like watching pantry challenge type videos/series, cooking type channels, etc for ideas and just to see what they come up with.

Hi Jennifer, i am sorry your shop is having a hard week! I know you have mentioned you can't go back to teaching, but have you considered going back to a school district job as an aide? There is so much less pressure in that role and you would still get the benefit of a steady income? Just a thought. i see lots of people suggesting to bring back buy me a coffee but I think looking at a more long term solution is the best idea. that doesn't mean you have to give up on the shop; you can do both!!
Also, i was going to buy my first TBM planner when i found out they were gone until this fall, and am still trying things out until then, but haven't loved anything. I think Fall will be great for you when the new TBM planner comes out
