Change isn't the problem, Darkthrone changed style a lot, way more than IF yet still awesome. Satyricon also, not everyone like it but I love newer music. In Flames changed for commercial reasons & targeted new trendy audience - that's ok & up to them but our problem is we loved the music they made in 90's, I liked Reroute, I bought albums up to Sense of Purpose hoping I'd get to like them & hoped they make good music again, but not now. We're not elitist snobs who hate change, we hate it because it's written to make $$ for the record company & sell to edgy teenagers ...just lazy as they can do better. Also Anders trendy beard, skinny jeans & whining vocals would be annoying if in his 20's but he must be almost 50 i

If they are willing to lose some of their old fanbase to get new fans that are more into pop sound, then that's all their decision and perfectly fine. Settle for other bands if you don't like them anymore. You're in no position to judge or shit on their decisions.

So alittle story. I got to play guitar on stage with them during a show. I won a contest they held on their old fan club The Jesterhead.

And then I saw them in Atlanta on this tour they are on. And I got the VIP meet and greet for my kids and I. They remembered me and we're impressed I brought my kids. They pulled my 10 year old on stage with them during The End!!!!

korpsewh Ive been listening to them about 8-10 years ago,where the song was "Take this life"...That was a great time for them.I remember,i was in states for a while at that times and they started to get through the us market.I have a feeling that this album is one of the best since then.

They really do sound great. But, it's not singing. It's a type of screaming that uses very little vocal distortion, and a lot of oomph.

It reminds me a bit of Rise Against
For me this song takes on two meanings. When you’re so deep in sadness you’re just waiting for someone to break you out. From the other side, that person might be desperately searching for the “wormhole” to be by your side when you shut out the world. It sucks to hurt, it sucks to see someone hurt and not have any power to do anything.
my take on this would be that the kid's mom died and he is now living with a father who is an emotional wreck and making the kids life hell. you can see the dad harshly grabbing the kids arm and throwing his toys on the ground, and the kid is wearing dirty clothes and the house looks like a wreck.
the reason i think the mom died is because you can see a family drawing at 1:50 with the mom to the left and the father to the right completely red stained as if he is nuts and angry.
you can also see the drawing of the mom with the mask as face at 0:21 with "save me" written below it. and since the lyrics say stuff like "you dont remember so i need to figure it out but the memories fade" and "why dont you call my name and send my to go by, so find me the wormhole so that i can be by your side" and "i used to have it all untill i lost control" tells me the kid had a good life when his mom was still alive and he wishes to be with her.

Ive been contemplating suicide for quite some time. this is one of the songs that i listen to when im in a down mood, i dont know why it works but it brings me to a better mood where im not thinking about suicide. i really enjoy InFlames for this reason, there are a few songs that have helped me a bit

This album is the sound I was expecting when Siren Charms dropped. This is the true successor to SoaPF. Even with all the clean vocals, I still get an older In Flames vibe on this album
There will never be another Clayman era album, which is good. Nothing in my mind would top it as far as heavier In Flames is concerned. This cleaner, but still heavy In Flames still kicks ass. In Flames we trust!!!

oH nEAT!! In Flames was a Metal Band I've long liked and listened to.. I wouldn't say that I knew a whole lot of them, nor had random songs of theirs Exclusively on a lot lot of playlists, though I did always enjoy listening to the few songs I had of 'em when they did show up in some random playlists of mine, or on shuffle! They're sorta like this group that was there that I enjoyed, but never took a closer look at, for many years.. They were always in my mind, they seemed a part of a "Core" classic Metal, that I didn't consciously identify as having shaped and influenced that, but always sorta always known deep down, as time passed along, that they definitely were part of that wave of solid Metal akin to Pantera, Iron Maiden, and the likes of which I think stands out from more Modern Metal acts, it's also very cool seeing something of theirs that's just recently been released!! I'm happy to see that after all this time, they're still at it strong, making some good new Music!! I have a soft spot for this particular brand and flavor of Metal, not just that it's "CLassic" it's also not tainted with the Fad's and things of Today!! The "Djent-apacalypse" and what have you! It's still relevant to it's Core from all those years past, and it's a breath of fresh air! It's like going back to physical pedals after all this "Digital" pedal S**t that's plague Modern Music Tools for Musicians! That or a good old Tube Amp running an Overdrive and high Mid's / Treble with less driven Bass / Gain, and Distortion through the Amp itself! It's a Good Touch to Methods and Methodology, that's always been, at least in my opinion, the BEST-WAY! Or I'm just a Dinosaur, lol.. I don't care! I dig it! I can appreciate the simpler Methods in Music Engineering that others might find "obsolete" but where I say is "Pitch-Perfect!" There's always been a reason those ways were the one true course to take, and it's because peeps had discovered way back then, this is how it's done, and it's stood the test of time!! Welcome back In-Flames!! You were always a band I appreciated, even it I didn't seem to pay your music enough mind way back then, I see now as History unfolds, you indeed were one of the Greats!!
