    Although I miss old In Flames, their new style isn't that bad. For example, Come Clarity is an album that I didn't like at first but it grew on me and nowadays I think that it's amazing!
    They are a little box of surprises.

    • @959tolis626
      @959tolis626 9 ปีที่แล้ว +28

      Dude, I've been thinking exactly that. Every album they've released the past 10 years or so sounds different from what came before it. Sometimes that's bad, sometimes that's good. But at least we aren't hearing the same stuff again and again and I like their creativity, even when it doesn't pay off. I for one loved Siren Charms, even though my first impression was that it was total crap. It grew on me, like you said. Now, is it their best work? No, not even close. But is it bad? Nope, not even close again.
      I guess people will continue whining no matter what. If their style remained unchanged after all these years, people would be saying that they've stagnated and have no creativity. To each their own I guess.

      In Flames aren't doing what Lamb of God have actually done for the past 10 years now, which is releasing the same album over and over again but with a different album name each time, every single song that LOG has "produced" during the past 10 years have all sounded exactly the same as the last.

      Tobi kun Agree with all of you. Im a die hard fan of clayman, and when i heard this album i nearly barfed, it sounded much to poppy. maybe im a fanyboy but it definitely grows on you. i know exactly what youre saying too about LOG +Tobi Kun, i recently listened to their discog back to back and its very very samey. still brilliant though!

    Да полетят в меня гнилые помидоры от гневных фанатов "Old" In Flames. Скажу сразу - старые альбомы (1996-2000) переслушал очень огромное кол-во раз. Прекрасные композиции, дух старой мдм школы и т.д. Но поймите и вы: играть одно и тоже каждый год они не могут. Прогресс неизбежен. Ребята экспериментируют. Это нормально, и не стоит их за это упрекать.

    • @spellalex
      @spellalex 9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Всё верно, ничто не стоит на месте. Группа растет, с ними перерождается их стиль. Понятное дело, не всем нравится такая альтернатива.
      Моё мнение, что на звучание последних альбомов In Flames сильно повлиял уход их группы Еспера, всё-таки он написал много музыки того "старого", более мелодичного In Flames.

    • @Mr_At0mic

    Band changes their sound - "WTF is this shit? where is the old {insert band name} fuck them im not buying it"
    Band does not change their sound "Ugh, they are so boring, they just sound the same all the time, pointless, im not buying their album"
    See it with all bands, and no doubt with the album this year we shall have the same.

    • @markodumencic8734
      @markodumencic8734 8 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      The thing is, In Flames' pre-Clayman style was so unique and diverse that you can never get tired of it so you don't want the band to change We expected them to put out amazing melodeath on and on, but instead they chose to do sth different, which is completely fine. I, as a matter of fact, happen to like the new stuff aswell but I'd still rather have them go back to their old style. And then, you have bands like Lamb of God whose every album sounds very similar. I like them aswell, but after a few listens it gets really stale. That's my opinion at least.

    • @Starforsaken101
      @Starforsaken101 8 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      I think one of the primary reasons why they had to swap their style so much is because of Anders clearly losing his voice. I think it's fair he doesn't want to permanently damage his vocal chords from the screams he used to do :S. I miss the old sound too but I think the band adapted really well. Equally, they lost Jesper...either way, I still support this band no matter what. They're chill guys and I like that they're trying things out

    • @joperhop
      @joperhop 8 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I would rather a band try a new sound, and it not work, than stick to the same sound and just get boring. New album this year :D cant wait.

    Love to hear the old fans pissing in their beer about how In Flames now sucks. If you like music that never changes, go listen to some AC/DC! Music evolves and changes. Stagnation leads to the death of creativity. I've followed In Flames for a long time and they have always been moving forward.

    • @psychedelicfright85
      @psychedelicfright85 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      They've followed every popular style since day one. Listen to each album, and then what else was popular around that time. You'll see. Enslaved, now that is evolution. There's moving forward on your own, and there's moving forward with trends. These guys chose the latter. They were soft as melodic death metal too.

      +Unguided Reaper I see no reason you are criticizing him. he, at least to me, has said nothing wrong. you seem to be the asshat in this situation. and a person can listen to whatever they want and voice their own opinions. and this applies to you as well. but what you said doesnt really seem like an opinion. more like simply insulting someone for nothing because you have, what is my guess, some unchecked rage and agression that you havent dealt with. you should work on being a better person. thats just my opinion though.
      fucking fantastic band though. while I am privy to their old sound. their newer stuff is still great. its just a different sound.
      keep your volume high, your strings tuned low. and dont forget to slapp that bass.

    I aleready know im kind of alone (it seems) in my opinion. Ive been in flames since clayman, ive been through all the great times to a playground fading, ive seen in flames change in their style and im still happy with it. sure i got my preferences. we all have. yet, theres no excuse in people wanting them to be like they were 10 years ago. people change. its called personal progress. evolution. these guys, in flames, are getting older too. making their experiences in life. WHO ARE YOU to demand they do never change ? WHO am i if i wanted to be ALL you guys to be like when you were 12 forever?!

    In Flames the groove is as strong as ever! This song might as well be their best song, depending from which way you looked at it. In Flames have changed their sound pretty much on every album they made, but always remained true to themselves, and were top performing. I bet you cant name many of their songs that you can call boring? You never know what you can expect from them until you hear it, but you sure as hell can always expect excellence!

    Why is it that people on this damn comment section think that fans who do not like the new sound of in flames are not allowed to say so??? I simply don't understand it. if the fans of a band do not like their new album or their new sound or whatever they have a right just as anyone else to say whether they like it or not. I see so many people telling others who are not happy with the new sound telling people to go away and shut up and making some very serious personal insults over someone's very simple opinion. the fans of this band have every right to say whether or not they like the new sound just as much as others have a right to say that they like it. there is no need for people to take it personally and just simply insult one another

    Their newest shit got kinda generic and boring imo, I don`t know.. I just don`t feel that old spirit anymore. They lost their agression and melodic licks, Anders barely screams anymore and the riffs are nothing special. I loved all albums from Lunar Strain to Come Clarity, the three last albums have not impressed me that much even though there is the occasional amazing song.

      @TheAmicableMammal 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Matthew Cohn No, you're not the only one. That doesn't mean a lot of people wouldn't disagree with you. Like me.
      That 'first singer' - as you call him - is the legend Mikael Staane from Dark Tranquility. He has a far more 'character'ful growl than Anders in my view. And better cleans (Misery's Crown, anyone?) Anders sounds kind of whiny and weak compared to Stanne. and just kind of ... whispers his cleans? Kind of a cop out.
      I have pretty much every IF album, and DT too, so don't get me wrong, I love both bands, I just think Staane is the better singer. And early IF sounds like generic death metal???! WTF, Lunar Strain? I guess folky violin parts like on Hargalaten and Starforsaken is "generic death metal"??? When was the last time Cannibal Corpse did that? Hahaha! :P
      "They don't have as much melody in the old stuff"??? *What*, when they *used* to be *Melodic* death metal, you mean???! As opposed to 'modern groove/alternative rock', now? Educate yourself, dude!

      I think Siren Charms is their most "human" and honest album, it took a while for me to fully appreciate the album. There are so many emotions in the songs (Everythings Gone, Siren Charms, With Eyes Wide Open, Rusted Nail to name a few). Yet at the same time I think SOAPF is their best album to date. It captures the modern IF sound and combines it with the trademarks of the first albums which I think is damn amazing.

    Correct me if im wrong but don't you sell out once you get a record label? I mean im just thinking that the record label owns everything at that point. The album, artwork, the songs themselves. the rights for any of the mentioned to be changed. hell even the band itself is under contract to perform. So with that in mind don't bands usually get a MAJOR record label after their EP? How many bands out there do we love that come out with more then one album. Does that mean almost everyone we listen to sell out? Perhaps! but maybe its nessary for the band to survive and keep thriving! Off the top of my head theres only one band in my list of music that truly made a TOTALLY free, recordless album and enough fan base for it to be heard. called sons of liberty. And only reason they have any fanbase at all is because its lead by the lead guitarist of ICED EARTH and did a side project that spoke of government corruption, freedom and being aware of your rights. Just food for thought.

You may not like it or like it as much as other songs but some people think this is a great song and like it more than YOU do and their older stuff so just respect the music and others oppinions about their work.
    Gotta love their creativity tho, fun that they try new stuff, sounds etc. You are free to just listen to their earlier stuff but don´t judge and say it´s bad just because YOU don´t like it so much or at all because like i said other people do. It is what it is.

    This is my first time listening to this band. Somebody told me, listen to them, that's the new way of heavy metal. Now I'm listening and all I hear is pop music with a few guitars in the background. Sorry, maybe I'm just an old bastard who grew up on punk and thrash metal in the 1980s, but are all these new bands like that? Of course, I could switch through the vids, but it doesn't really seem interesting to me. I don't like death metal, but isn't this a bit too, well, pop-like? Back than we hated bands like Depeche Mode and now it seems like they are taking over the heavy scene. I don't want to be ignorant or something, I'm all for melodies, but where is the anger and the power of the counter-culture?

    This song just makes me realise why Siren Charms is bad. It's the songwriting. It's so haphazard and choppy that it falls apart far too quickly. SOAPF was more or less in the same style of this album, but that album had very solid songwriting. It even tended to be annoyingly catchy, like some pop songs tend to be, but it worked. This album reminds me of Soundtrack, where there were a lot of choppy songwriting bits that didn't fit with the flow of the album. Siren Charms sounds like they wrote a bunch of huge choruses first and then put some guitar parts and Anders' mumbling around it. Eugh.
