Excellent video. My 1995 Defender covered a mere 200.000 Kms when the P-gasket started leaking. I deciced to change all gaskets, hoses and changed the waterpump also. Love your tutorials!
Wow, I changed the P gasket twice on my 300tdi but never knew, you can do that with out removing the waterpump and the alternator first. This will save me a lot of time in the future! Thank you!
I’ve had core plugs blow out on a BMC “A” series engine and they do save the block from damage. Mind you, it was minus 15 degrees, but that’s what they’re there for.
Yes - 75/25 ATF to acetone - cheap and very good - you need to give it a good shake before use as it does not mix well - but works - DO NOT heat up parts! This is just used for cold soaking Mike

And you don't need to remove the crank bolt!

Good job helped me out
Hi Mike
Great videos
Is it possible to change the P gasket with the engine in ?
Cheers
Mike
Yes, very easy, no need to remove the crank pulley
You said acetone mixed with ATF..? Is that a good penetration lubricant? I must try that one, never heard of it before.
