Am I the only one that thinks SM-33's captain commanded him "You can't say you remember At-Attin." So in theory, he's telling the truth when he tells people, "I can't say I remember no At-Attin." I don't think it's short term memory. He's repeating himself for sure but I think it's more of a clue in plain sight.
I've thought that the entire time and when he says "the kids came from somewhere" it felt like it was the best loophole he could manage with the block.

I think it indicates that when he saw the ship take off, it was something completely outside the norm that changed his perspective forever. His eyes have been opened and he's no longer distracted by the bureaucratic busywork he's always been so focused on. He feels guilty that he didn't pay more attention to his son, leading to him getting trapped on the ship, so now he's going to make up for it. He's beginning to sense that the people in power on his planet don't have a solution for getting his son back, so one way or another he's going to take matters into his own hands to find him and get him back home safely.
All I could hear during that zoom in as he took off his glasses was this… “I can tell you I don't have money, but what I do have are a very particular set of skills, skills I have acquired over a very long career, skills that make me a nightmare for people like you...”
KRIFFING HELL, THAT WAS fast, just finished it and I am more curious who Jod really is. The fact that space owls are now canon is both amazing and beautiful. Also, the moon shot of the group walking is now engraved in my mind, and it is beautiful. The zoom in dolly shot to Wim's dad really tells us that he does know a lot more than he seems to offer.
The delayed second 'aye' from SM33 feels like a throwback to a visual gag in Edgar Wright's 'Hot Fuzz' (starring Nick Frost) where Paddy Considine's character re-enters the frame for a moment. And no, you didn't force the moon silhouette connection. I thought the same while watching the episode and it was clearly intentional given the amount of other nods they've given.
I have a theory: AT-Attin has been closed off since before the clone wars. That’s why they have old republic pristine condition. When they ask about what war it’s not assuming the war from the og trilogy but they don’t even know about the clone wars. Whatcha think?
i was thinking the exact same thing. i don't think they are censuring anything from children or society in general, i believe they literally have no knowledge of any events since the end of old republic/beginning of high republic. no off-planet contact in hundreds (if not thousand) of years
@@cadendicky1855 could be a situation where at attin was instructed by an old or high republic gov to continue with certain programmes until further notice. They were then forgotten about due to some form of conflict, at which point at attin and the other 8 planets were classified as lost or destroyed. So at attin has continued with said mission ever since
I think SM-33 had his memory core ripped out of him or erased about anything on At-Attin. Just like B.E.N. from Treasure Planet. Because it's always the same line and for Ben's cased it was to hide Treasure Planet the same I bet is for SM-33.
SM-33 repeating "Can't say I remember no At Attin." and saying the kids are "definetly from somewhere" even tho he knows they're from At Attin made me think that it might have been programmed not to talk about At Attin.. Or that they really should repair him to access his full memory...
I think when the droid said “aye” twice was his way of answering Jod’s question without realizing it, due to being damaged from whenever the ship he was in crashed. He knows much, but doesn’t realize that .. yet.
No one is referencing Treasure Island and Disneys Treasure Planet. Jod Silvo being close to “John Silver”, At Attin is the “lost treasure planet”, SM-33 could be like B.E.N. Whose memory was takin and houses a map to At Attin or his memory was takin to hide what the planet is hiding.
Jod is acting the same way to the kids as John did to Jim. At Attin doesn’t know the war between the rebels and empire has ended. They are working hard to keep the planet safe from pirates or from the empire. The “riches” it hides could be the kids from being taken to be used as storm troopers. SM-33 crashed with “Billy bones” type character who took his “memory” away or shot it out of him to hide what they brought to the planet. Just some theories.
i love neel just as much as you do. i find myself putting my hand on my cheek when i think "oh neel" especially when he was snoring. also notice how the bottom of that scroll looks like the mural in fern's home. nvm, you just said it.. but i wonder if those 5 planets have to do with the people in the mural.
SM-33 doesn’t say he doesn’t remember At Attin. He says he can’t say he remembers. I think he does remember but has a block that makes it so he can’t say it.
I like that the "Jewels of the Old Republic" is almost as much a title for the treasured nature for "The Old Republic" era of stories and games. It's really cool to see the Old Republic mentioned, and the possible waves of younger gamers and story lovers getting into KOTOR.
The X-Wings have their bottom laser cannons replaced with ion cannons! Cool nod to the demilitarization of the NR and their role more as a police force. Also, I SWEAR I saw a venator or similarly designed ship in the background of port borgo during Jod’s (second) escape.
The period that At Attin comes from has to be the High Republic. The Old Republic isn’t necessarily referred to as just “The Republic” but rather “The Galactic Republic” whereas T.H.R has itself usually referred to as “The Republic” since it directly leads into the Prequel-era where it again is most often referred to as “The Republic”
No it isn’t. If they had 30 year old mint condition credits they wouldn’t be that valuable but thousands of year old credits would be so it is from the old republic at least a thousand years ago
also isn't the logo on the credits themselves from the GAR? and so they are just referring to the GAR as the Old Republic? and in these movies and shows that take place after the GAR refer to that time as the old republic?
My personal theory on the droid that let Silva down was maybe it was a droid who gave him the tip about that transport which caused his crew to mutiny in Ep 1.
Is it just me? Or did that entire scene with Khy'mm resemble the observatory/Orrery scene in the Dark Crystal? It even had the 'baddies' come break the scene at the end
10:10 Not all Jedi care about droids. In fact many non-Jedi also have droid companions in Star Wars, like Cassian (two in fact!). And it seems Obi-Wan specifically does not care about droids in the slightest. 💀

So fun! A few things. 1. In Treasure Island, Long John Silver was the cook on the ship, 'Captian Silvo' feeding the children is a clear nod. 2. In SWTOR, on Rishii (the pirate planet) there are owl people - they look different, but if you've played the game, it is so weird that the correlation is unmistakable.
I doubt this is right but it's a theory. When the kids are shown the plants on the map about plants the old republic want to hide. Would one of them be tannalor from jedi survivor?
Fascinating fact: Did you know Neil Armstrong took a recording of theremin music (the album "Music Out of the Moon" (1947)) with him on Apollo 11 and played it on the way home from the moon! Very space-tastic touch to include a theremin in the score this episode! 😊❤️🎶

"Jod Na Nawood" might be just old enough that he could have been a youngling who survived Order 66 and became a kind of Star Lord-type orphan who fell in with Space Pirates out of necessity. This might account for his limited Force abilities, but why he's not a Jedi. Also, has anyone compared At Attin to M Night Shyamalan's The Village? I haven't seen that yet.
Just a note, since people can't seem to accept this, most Sci-Fi shows/movies have not ever really had the "Hero Ship" be some completely unique design that only the hero has. Usually we get unique names, such as "Millennium Falcon" for Han's modified YT-1300 Transport, "USS Enterprise" for the Constitution-class ship in Star Trek TOS, or "Tantive IV" for Leia's CR-90 Corvette. Razor Crest is different in that the "ship name" is the same as the Ship's model - a ST-70 Razor Crest Assault Ship (more likely that Mando just didn't really name his ship).
