    Lucas, I'm getting ready to move my fish from Nashville to Deep South Alabama (approximately 6 1/2 - 7 hr drive). It was recommended that I get individual totes to move my oscars (they are 8 yrs old and big). I think my smaller fish will be okay in either buckets or small totes. The rainbows will need a tote for sure since they are on the larger size. I'm planning to put an air stone with my oscars and the rainbows. I believe my smaller community fish will be okay without air. They are going to be in the back of a moving van. Does that sound reasonable to you? I'll keep their sponge filters in the totes too. I've got large tubs waiting in Alabama for fish. I'm planning to seed these with the used sponges. I'm also taking two 100 gallon stock tubs, a 50 gallon stock tub, and my 33 long and 40 gallon tanks. I considered putting all the community fish in a 100 gallon stock tub and only fill it a third of the way with water. That might work better. What do you think? I'm moving into my family home so I can help my Mom. I'm going to end up with four 100 gallon stock tubs, a 50 gallon pond, a 200 gallon gallvanized steel tub that is 6x2x2. I'll have a couple of tanks in the house (33 long, 40 gallon breeder, and standard 40 gallon). I"m really excited about getting out of the city and having space to keep fish.

      The biggest trick with it and why it may be difficult to use the stick tub is you will want lids for your tote or tubs cause splashing will occur with the back and forth weight distribution. I moved mine without air and just made sure they had biologically sound water. Also if you can cover them and keep them dark it will make them sleep and more comfortable for their trip which helps with stress. Your approach with the totes sounds reasonable and what I did just make sure to keep dark and a lid. Less water is best.

    You could setup one tank with Jordanella Floridae and feed them the hair algae from other tanks.
    I used to throw fist fulls of algae like that in a 55 full of a big colony of them and they would eat it all by the end of the day

    • @LRBaquatics
      @LRBaquatics  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Those are both good choices and easy for beginner. The wisteria likes to grow more up and out and makes lots of roots for breeding. Grows fast and big. Guppy grass can grow fast but is more manageable imo.

    0:00 At first it was a nursery rhyme 🎶 I've been running around the fishroom collecting stuff. 🎶 I've been running around the fishroom breeding fish. 🎶 ...nope.
    Was a country song? 🎶 I've been running around collecting stuff for the fishroom. 🎶 I've been building ponds and stuff outside. 🎶 Something I've been wanting to do ever since I've built this fishroom../*_,,,-_...nope, kinda lost track of you after this point unless it was some kind of freestyle spoken rap thing.
    Seriously though, put some guitar backing, keep the same cadence, and you could have a song and more views for your channel if you made some music videos. I think people miss your singing.
