@@LifeInTheClouds brother sometime misfortunes happen. But that doesn't mean Indian trains are unsafe. Train accidents happen everywhere in the world. Just few days ago there was a train accident in Greece.
@San Agree. But that's why Darjeeling Railway shifted from Steam to Diesel. The only steam engines right now, are as heritage engines, to preserve the legacy.
I hope you will be happy in India. India has such a different culture. Also, most Indians are very kind. Enjoy our India. I think you have very beautiful memories of Assam also.
Hey Mac, I also visited Darjeeling recently. It's a beautiful place. Also, The train stopped to fill in water since it's a steam engine and requires water in order to generate steam which creates pressure which moves the piston and ultimately the Train! They have multiple such spots to fill in the water throughout the train route.🙂
I’m from near Siliguri and we go for a drive to Darjeeling on almost every weekends just to relax and enjoy the beautiful view from the hills 😝😅 One of my favourite places to chill
It's actually both, the toy steam engine is much more picturesque and more costly to operate. Besides it has more than a century of historic background and nostalgia associated to it. 😊
whenever you're coming to North Bengal or Bagdogra for a trip to Darjeeling or Sikkim try to book WIZZRIDE from Bagdogra airport and from your hotel anywhere in Gangtok and Darjeeling to back to Bagdogra or NJP station. They will charge less. They provide your better car and they even have sharing base options which will be lesser than normal cabs
17:43 = You did not notice that the diesel engine was approaching from back. The steam engine does not have enough steam left (literally) to pull up the slope. So the diesel engine does a push from back.
Yes... Arunachal is a Mystical place with still unexplored places and valleys... Mountains... Snow... All in one place.. ❤... I bet it will take u atleast 1 month stay to cover all of it... 😊😊❤

I have been to India x3 and traveled to the Himalayas x2 you say Namaste 🙏 more times that I did on all of my travels 😂 in this beautiful diverse country, going back in June 2024… loved this vlog 👍
I just remembered my first journey in a toy train from kalka to Simla Himachal pradesh if you enjoyed this UNESCO world heritage site in Darjeeling you will enjoy kalka to Simla it's also an UNESCO world heritage site operating since 1900 but take an AC train as there are many trains running on that route. 🙏
Dont stay at Darjeeling Town. Go to some offbeat places or villages which are very quite and peaceful. Dawaipani, Chatakpur are my suggestions. Glad to see you visiting my state. Stay safe. 😊😊
Actually steam engines are also very popular in US especially Scenic trains. Cumberland MD Scenic train uses steam engine. There is also a toy train or cogwheel train that runs on steam engine in Mount Washington, New Hampshire. It's actually very popular as it is specially designed cogwheel train for climbing mountain.
Loved to see your enthusiasm and excitement. Steam engines are a very rare sight to behold even let alone riding one. Ive been to darjeeling but it was when i was in std 5 lol. Didnt get to ride the steam engine 😮💨
Brother I suggest you to go to the outskirts of the town. Homestays, countryside areas like Lamahatta on the way to kalimpong. Country side is more beautiful and warm too. Good luck 👍

The language started evolving from Farsi and Arabic contacts during the invasions of the Indian subcontinent by Persian and Turkic forces from the 11th century onward. Urdu developed more decisively during the Delhi Sultanate (1206--1526) and the Mughal Empire (1526--1858). Urdu written with Farsi(arabic) shrift and hindi .It is a descendant of the 3rd century BCE Brāhmī script, which evolved into the Nagari script which in turn gave birth to Devanāgarī and Nandināgarī. Hindi and Urdu languages have their origins in Khariboli spoken in areas around Delhi. In spoken Hindi and URDU has a little differences, although Urdu literature full of Farsi arabic words as well as Hindi. Like Pakistani anthem consists of 70% farsi and 30% urdu. The lyrics which are in classical High-Urdu is written by the Pakistani Urdu-language poet Hafeez Jalandhari in 1952. Each word in the anthem was carefully picked to make sure it was a valid Perso-Arabic word (to avoid Hindostani words) and it cohered with the tune of the anthem. Most words of the anthem have commonality with the Persian language, hence rendering them mutually intelligible in both Urdu and Persian scripts. No verse in the three stanza lyrics is repeated. The lyrics have heavy Persian poetic vocabulary, and only use one exclusively native word, "kā
