This was the best out of them all. I grew up on them from my older brother he was 13 years older than me . This one was released after he had passed away I was 13 years old it literally helped me understand so much of the world around me and my own self. Then now it being future it’s fckn wild how it’s accurate they made Covid n shits crazy just like this game

Am I the only one who wants a DmC Devil May Cry sequel? Sure this game’s story was super cringey but I did like Dante’s character development and the gameplay was actually pretty good for the most part. I think the reboot series has plenty of potential to be amazing.
They killed it man, they killed another nephilim with great potential... Now it is all wallpaper like backgrounds and silly looking enemies. And back to the meaningless old school rock which is out of style. This was way more practical and close to the reality which I think the old gamers hated. All they really want is the same game with upgraded visuals.
A sequel would've been cool I'd like to see this Dante unlock his true potential that goes even further beyond this one. Plus it looked interesting when Vergil had an army at his side.

Personally, I liked the DmC: Devil May Cry Dante just as much as the old one mainly because I see this as his, "humble beginning". Like, had they not said he was half angel and half demon- I would have assumed this was a part of the same Devil May Cry universe and it was basically an origin. Before he became the Dante that we know today in the DMC series, he could have been a more "rough around the edges" kind of character. Rebellious, cynical, hedonistic, arrogant and cared about people but because of the evil (demons), he was exposed to at such a young age- he was an asshole. A defense mechanism so to speak. He also came off as a lost soul; especially at the end of the game when he finishes fighting Vergil once he found out his true intentions. But after Kat basically reassured him, he'd gradually become the Dante that we know. DmC: Devil May Cry's reboot had a lot of potentials to be even better than the original story of Dante, but as usual- people's nostalgia blinds them from what could be. For all we know, what I mentioned above- could have been Ninja Theory's plan. Start off with an unpolished Dante who is reckless and an asshole, then gradually transform him into the Dante that we've come to know but with way more character development and potential struggles that would define him in the end. Plus, they could have even expanded the enemies of the games. We'd be able to fight demons AND angels. Maybe even some other beings that could help to expand DMC's lore. But like I said Kanye shrug people and their nostalgia.

But for me, idk I fell for the rugged stupid hardheaded attitude of a half angel half demon. He’s his own character who’s definitely had struggles. The game sold well enough to get a re-released on PS4 and the fact that they re-released DMC4 also and added new character along with including him in multiple games means they still have plans. As far as games go we might now see something for awhile but there have been interest in the franchise recently with a rumor that news on a New DMC is gonna be announced next week at PSX. KOLORS vergil's last comeback had my brother and me like "OOOOOOOOOOOOOO SHOTS FIRED" (We played dmc together since it was technically my game but he has the xbox soooo everytime someone died or a cutscene happened we switched)

The original DMC and the Rebooted DMC appeal to two different audiences. Not vastly different, but different. The original is very influenced by Japanese anime and manga, while the reboot has a very modern western taste. The game was good. Not great, but still good. However, since it was a drastic reboot from the origins we know, many people recieved it badly and for good reason. What would have been better would be a DMC spinoff. Had this game been a spinoff instead of a reboot, there would most likely be a sequel.

Bear in mind, while his character starts crappy, he evolves through the game. The point here is not Dante's starter character. He hates everyone, loathes everything and is full on angst. The thing is, he ends up protecting the earth he so loathed once.

Well, its an often reused enemy concept in all of DMC, but becomes cooler everytime a new entry releases. Its latest form as of now is in the form of Fury in DMC5, which is still very much annoying to deal with.
It's fun to perfect evade or parry them... Basically a tutorial of how to fight vergil later on but kinda annoying if theres 2 of them, a witch or even those big enemy who always charge you (exception for the saw enemies bcs its fun to parry too... No not the chainsaw you met on mission 3)

The original DMC and the Rebooted DMC appeal to two different audiences. Not vastly different, but different. The original is very influenced by Japanese anime and manga, while the reboot has a very modern western taste.
The game was good. Not great, but still good. However, since it was a drastic reboot from the origins we know, many people recieved it badly and for good reason. What would have been better would be a DMC spinoff. Had this game been a spinoff instead of a reboot, there would most likely be a sequel.

I actually loved this version of Dante. Seemed way more realistic, considering who he is I would expect him to be like this.
Also, the sarcasm and the humor is really something that fits the game imo too.

I actually liked this version of Dante, he comes across more realistic. The original Dante always just seemed like a cheesy overly perfect haired live action anime character to me; I mean the original was cool and all, but only in a endearing "Guy Sensei" "Tuxedo Mask" way LOL

mr_los People think the new Dante is "too edgy" purely based off the fact that he doesn't have what realistically would be considered edgier hair in the older games, and because he swears. That's really the only reason people hate it. You'll find the vast majority of the complaints come from people who haven't played the game.

Well, its an often reused enemy concept in all of DMC, but becomes cooler everytime a new entry releases. Its latest form as of now is in the form of Fury in DMC5, which is still very much annoying to deal with.
