Andy could you make a video on the prep before and after shooting new content, a behind the scenes look. I'm a great fan of your work, within a few seconds of your posts, I go straight into relaxation mode and forget all the ills of the world.
Top boss collection, u have just shown me all that is needed to get any jobs done, build a cabin, boat, furniture and any other needed stuff to get it done, many thanks 💖🗿💬
I have the Silky BigBoy Pro and love it! I Also have a smaller Silky folding saw, the F180 Pro. It fits in my pocket. I was going to get PocketBoy, but at the time I couldn't get it, so I tried F180 and it is great!
Thanks for a fine explanation of the function of a tomahawk. Our First Nations in North America appreciated them, even as war axes. Day-to-day, they were light to carry and useful for disjointing deer-sized game animals. THANKS also for including the frow: fine for making cedar shakes for roofing and for splitting wood. If one does not wish to hammer on the spine of a knife, the frow is indispensable. As for the compact shovel: it could 'save your life in combat. It does good work in making a camp as well.
Hiya Andy, at some point would you be able to show us all how you'd create an Axe handle and make sure it fits into the Axe head and secure it properly. Thank you in advance.
The axe you picked up after the splitting maul , is what we call a small persons broad axe . My dad had 3 grownups broad axe they had about 2 x cutting edge .
Good suggestion!! Over the years, I have used plain soap and water to wash away heavy soil. I followed that up with light motor oil. Steel wool works very well for removing 'sticky' residue.
Thanks for the review…however, I would rather see you give a personal demonstration at my campsite while cutting and chopping wood..😂! Have a great day!
I was hot tenting last weekend and used the hammer head of a small camp axe (hatchet) instead of a piece of wood to hammer a fixed blade bushcraft knife when batonning wood for my stove. Any thoughts about that?
Andy, is your most used axe the 700g Hultafors Aby Forest Axe? My generous wife just asked me what I want for Christmas and well, you never know your luck 🤞
One minor point I may have missed, the purpose of a fro is to split wood into shingles..very useful for creating weather resistant cover, when a tent or tarp is not preferred.
3:57 Bit mystified: why on earth would one want to carve fiddly bits with an axe/hatchet? It makes no sense. (Please don't say "If it was all you had" because if I could have (and I still don't see why) one tool, it certainly wouldn't be an axe!). 6:00 Now those knives are for carving - now even more confused. 8:36 Not having used either, I'm curious as to why you changed from the Bigboy to the buck saw? It looks much more cumbersome and bulky/heavy to carry. I've seen numerous reviews that speak very highly of the Silky. 15:00 What I would like to see is a tool for drilling small (1/4") to medium (3/4") holes that is smaller/lighter to carry than a bit & brace, like a mini-auger. Are such available? Thanks for an informative video, and some thought starters. I guess a LOT will depend on what activity one is going to tackle, before deciding what tools to take with. I despair of be-all-end-all one pack does everything type videos. The century-old motto of the Boy Scouts that Lord Baden-Powell came up with still holds: "Be Prepared!"

Yeah, I wouldn't mind one of Sandy's Jacklore knives myself. 👍🙂
SANDY SHINES as a superlative knifemaker in the UK.

Great idea for a video!!!! Very handy!
If every time Bushcraft carries all these tools, it will be tiring. Thank you for the detailed instructions on the use of each type
Nice & informative video Andy 👍.
Nice to see billhooks get a mention, I think they are really cool tools, cheers Andy 👍
I'm going to need a lot more tools now ;) Great video, thanks man.
haha, the second hand market is great for hand tools
@@kentsurvivalgearreview586 there are garage and estate sales a lot around here too. Thinking of checking out some of those too.
Useful info Andy...tks.
Hi Andy....did you ever receive my email about camping by the Helford river in Cornwall? Great place for spring/summer if you can travel....
Amazing video

Like Kent pattern axes.
That was really interesting Andy. Learnt a few new bits and bobs there. I love these reviews over sodding torches lol.
Hi. How do you maintain your tools? Can you make a video about it?
Good suggestion!! Over the years, I have used plain soap and water to wash away heavy soil. I followed that up with light motor oil. Steel wool works very well for removing 'sticky' residue.
The is a great idea for a video on bushcraft and woodcraft tools.
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
It’s been fun
Very useful video! Informative and helpful! thanks and ATB!
I have asked you this before, but now with the new channel...how about sharpening methods please..
Useful information, thanks!
Hello , I really like your videos. I just started watching them and I like every one I fin . Keep up the great work.
Dwayne
another great video Andy, just one detail though, your pronunciation of adze...... the e is silent mate! but love the video
Another very informative video Andy, Cheers Pal !
Been on your other chanel for a while glad i found this one too!!!
I can't wait when u start ur cabin. I do like the wooden wedges how big will ur cabin will be?
I have started to receive logs so hopefully not too long now, it will only be small, using 9'6 (standard copice length) of chestnut
ive never seen you use that splitting maul
Good video. I've been looking for a heavy duty drawknife like yours for a while, they're scarce
I have a collapsible draw knife. I like the adz, and the froe. Is that a spetsnaz shovel,I have most of dem tools,
Good video. Thanks
Thanks for the review…however, I would rather see you give a personal demonstration at my campsite while cutting and chopping wood..😂!
Have a great day!
Great tools and info
Brother Awesome video! Can you tell me what tomahawk is that? Best Regards!
i find the bucksaw sounds so much nicer then anything else it feels like a saw and it don't sound tinny if u know what i mean lol good vid
Thanks 👍
Great video
Well done sir🫡🔥
Thank u
Thanks man this really helped God bless you all in Jesus mighty name Amen
Tried the link to browse merchandise on your website but all that came up was leather/embroidery patches.
I was hot tenting last weekend and used the hammer head of a small camp axe (hatchet) instead of a piece of wood to hammer a fixed blade bushcraft knife when batonning wood for my stove. Any thoughts about that?
Better to strike your knife with something softer, beware of flying splinters too.
Great informative video. Just a bit concerned over your pronunciation of adze. Never heard it said that way.
Andy, is your most used axe the 700g Hultafors Aby Forest Axe? My generous wife just asked me what I want for Christmas and well, you never know your luck 🤞
Whered you get the small drilling auger?
Hi could you give any details on the pouch at the end of your video? Thanks 👍
Hi, if you mean the sharpening stone pouch, its actually for keys, from amazon or ali express, i cant remember exactly
@@kentsurvivalgearreview586 it was indeed... thank you 👍
A scary but cool collection and their uses. Wood work is very satisfying, wish I had more time and space for it. 👍
One minor point I may have missed, the purpose of a fro is to split wood into shingles..very useful for creating weather resistant cover, when a tent or tarp is not preferred.
Sử dụng nhiều rìu vậy? Có loại nào loại ra không bán cho tôi một cái để cùng đồng hành
Great stuff , but you’d need to be fairly well heeled to afford that lot ..But interesting never the less , thanks for showing us.
Guy legit starred in Snatch. “3min Turkish”
👍
Try the British Army mod knife it's bullet proof, ugly looking tool but it will serve you well!
