Dear J.C. Smith projects family. Hope you all feel better meanwhile = get well soon. I wanted to send a link to you, but utube doesn't allow it anymore. So please kindly allow me to highly recommend to watch channel Barcroft cars, especially the video showing a plane and a truck joined together as a unique RV. Hope you like it! Best regards, luck and health.
It is great that you and Mrs.J C. are willing to take the time and your materials to put this together for somebody. Another great project taking shape thanks for taking us along.
When I got old and feeble after 40 yrs as a heavy eq field mechanic I switched to small engines. Most of my power tools were too big to work on a lawn mower or a chainsaw. I invested heavily in 12V Milwaukee and do not regret it at all. No other brand has the quality or variety in this size tool.
Dear J.C. Smith projects family. 👍👌👏 Very well done again and as always (video and work). It's ingenious how you handle respectively work with the plasma cutter. The good results are speaking for themselves. I'm eagerly looking forward to watch the next part. As always: Thanks a lot for making teaching explaining recording editing uploading and sharing. Best regards luck and health to all of you.
every dime i spend on this build is comin out of my pocket. must find alternatives to purchasing some things. other times it is cost effective to just buy what you need.
Dear J.C. Smith projects. You mentioned that you like to have a plasma cutter table and I instantly remembered: Kris Harbour (a great English utuber) recently bought a pretty good plasma cutter table (with relatively easy handling programming). It's an English brand and manufactured by a family business in England (Xtreme Plasma). Maybe it can be helpful to look it up!? Sincerely yours.
Glad to see this project back this owner is going to end up with a piece of equipment that has way more quality built in than cost, would love to see JC get to do a job of this scope. With a blank check and no time restraints
there is always another truck waiting to be brought in. this one si due to be finished or drug out and dropped at his house. it has been in the shop for far too long.
Porter greetings! 🇺🇸 It DOES pay to step away at times! You should always have your thoughts together when you’re building something…always be safe and never doubt the stuff! 🧐 Having the right tools…Soldering iron, Mag drill, Work lights, Heater is always a great thing! 🤩 I must’ve missed something somewhere along the line…I thought this was your truck. Hey, that is possible. I will backtrack & catch up on this rig! This project is really making me think about things… more so since I’m only a little familiar with rollbacks. Good stuff, as always. 🥰🤩✌️
If you running red diesel in the torpedo heater we found the jets jet blocked and the noise has to be clean after three tank's loads if running for six to eights hours a day
it will be running just fine. nice hot and clean. then the integral circuit breaker will pop and it shuts power off. just like you turned it off. doesnt smoke or anything. i have cleaned the photocell, and looked at the wiring. not sure if it is a bad photocell or if it is an over current situation. when i take it apart to do tests, it will fore up and run just fine as long as the cover is off. i think it could be a photocell, ignition box or fan motor. we will see.
Now that you are in the M12 battery platform too. If your detailer tends to be effected by the cold, you can get her a heated jacket! Might help with the shop cookie supply.
my cookie and baked good supply has not and does not change because of the weather! she is a good woman. she will wade through 13" of snow to bring me coffee in the shop in 7* weather!
With the milwaukee m12 tools that are high current draw you really need the 6.0ah m12 batteries. The wide base of the 6.0ah batteries also helps for holding tools upright.
Got M12 when their 90 degree fuel 3/8” ratchet was the only game in town. Bought the wife a couple tools (leaf blower, car vacuum, 1/4” driver) in this platform. I’m 100% Dewalt XP.
when soldering, start with a dab of solder between the iron and the wire, creates a thermal bridge and allows the joint to get to temp. Hold the solder on the wire and wait. The solder will then melt on the wire. much more better
Nice builds JC 😎👌 No offense but I get really amazed every time that you start to create something basically from nothing 👋😎And results are way better than it should. You are a wise man 👌😎 Congratulations. Thanks for sharing your videos!!! God bless you both 🙏
I've been considering the Milwaukee rivet gun in place of my pneumatic rivet gun . Your new solder gun works well..I like it...but I think I like my snap on butane solder pencil for some jobs better..being so small for intricate jobs..like on load cell circuit boards...but I could see using the Milwaukee for open areas without doubt . Your light is awesome... you're a bad influence J.C. ..I was kinda under control with tool addiction lol
i bet milwaukee would see it the other way! i have the snap on butane soldering iron as well. i use it on the international instrument clusters. every tool has its prime use and things another tool does better. it sure was nice flipping a switch and having a constant heat source and fast.
Soldier joints are much better than any screwed connections and gives you better results, but just remember to not grab the tip soon after you place it down I know from past experience lol 😁
4 tools that are M12 that a love to use 90° die grinder Straight die grinder 3/8 extended reach ratchet 3/8 impact gun There is still a few things that I don't have yet that I want to try
Great to see this project back. The owner of this truck is going to end up with way more built in quality than he is probably expecting most truck up fitters take a new truck and a hurriedly built body slap them together with uneven torch cut straps different sizes bolts through torch blown holes in your frame!!!!! Sorry 😣 I’m getting sideways on a rant . I would like to see JC get to do a job of this scope with a blank check and no time restraints
Just a personal opinion, but I find the M12 line to be quite intuitive. I have limes from a different manufacturer's, but my go to for a small impact driver is the M12.
my friend rick you suggested i get it, has had it for some time now and he raves about it. he works outside all year. so that can be a pretty harsh environment for any tool.
i think it suits its purpose. it is small and convenient to move around. it can do lots of different operations. it is very easy to set up and use. i have used it quite a bit on several projects. i have welded from sheet metal thickness up to 3/8" thickness with great results. i think it welds well. the question is always longevity. how long does it have to last to feel justified for the cost of purchase? hard to argue with the results for the price point.
M12 Soldering iron is a awesome tool to have. Think twice about a plasma cutting table tho the good ones aren't cheap and the cheap ones are complete garbage they cut so bad you can do a better job by hand lol
@@j.c.smithprojects it’s a little pricey here in Canada but I love it I do a lot of wiring harnesses on off road equipment and it’s indispensable for me

Hey JC, it sounds like you're doing "paid promotion" for Milwaukee tools now, or at least advertising for them in exchange for tools. I think you have to state that somewhere in the video or YT can take it down.

I wondered what ever happened to the budget rolloff project. I figured you had it done a while back. Thanks for sharing the progress jc
Hello MR. & MRS. JD FROM WASHINGTON STATE. LOVE YOUR VIDEOS AND KEEP UP THE GREAT VIDEOS JC & MRS JC

very cool mate, that light looked awesome

Looks good 👍, if someone can't see those lights there's a problem, nice job. Have a great evening JC and Mrs Smith 😀.
I have been eyeing up those soldering irons for a while. Nice to see someone who actually uses tools give their thoughts
i am impressed. i must say i was skeptical about a "battery powered soldering iron". but it not only works, it works well.
Did you finish this roll off build?@@j.c.smithprojects
I am a Millwaukee dealer my favorite tool is the m12 inflator jc you could use one when you don’t have any air goes up to 100psi

I was wondering what happened to this truck. And yes I agree that thing takes up alot of space.
Congrats on the m12 tools, I also recommend the m12 stubby impact in 3/8, it replaced the m18 compact I had before
I agree about that tool it is fantastic.
3/8 Stubby and 3/8 fuel ratchets with the 6.0 battery are game changers
Nice to see you JC! Appreciate your videos greatly and find them entertaining! Thanks!
Awesome work J.C. Great idea repurposing that air tank I’m looking forward to seeing it complete.
use what you have....just cause it was junk, doesnt mean it has to stay junk.
Great video of the project truck . Keep up the good work . The YES welder looks like it's doing very good .
I love my M12 3/8 ratchet, hammer drill, and impact driver. The soldering iron is for sure next on my list.

Absolutely great job using that air tank. Also impressed by that m12 soldering iron did a lot of work with that 1.5 amp battery
JC, On your recommendation we purchased the M18 1” impact for our truck shop. The best purchase we have made in a while. Thank you.

hi JC thanks for sharing
I have the soldering iron also its a life saver in the field. I run the 6ah battery as it makes a good base to stand it on.
I like the Milwaukee solder iron but it does use up the battery fast. You will need a backup M12 battery
I like how you scavenged the oxygen tank J.C! 🙂👍 It always helps to have a strong magnet on the base of a light like that. Take care 🔧
Wow that soldering iron is nice 5years ago you probably wouldn't even think about battery powered tools in general
Love ya work JC as always Cheers Steve 🍺🍺🍺
You can buy that bushing material online have it shipped to your shop
That rear light box looks better than anything a chrome shop sells.
it will be ok for just some old scrap steel laying around.

Go to the bigger tip on the iron. It works better
Is there a bloopers video hiding in the garage somewhere ?, or does everything go as planned. lol.

why do we insist on trying to touch the tip to see if it is hot? i guess i am a slow learner.

no. this truck is in the way. will be happy to have it out of the shop.
