A shame the kama uses the animated style belt, but otherwise it’s a pretty decent figure. I’ll always mourn the loss of the hexagonal pauldron from that P1 prototype, but I suppose the animated one is the canon look now thanks to Ahsoka
I'm so happy you enjoy this figure also when I first played with it I'd made my day bc the night prior I was ironically thinking about my old tbs/tvc Rex and this bracca Rex it's just it's just great the only tiny thing I did not like about the bracca rex is just the tiny dc-17s but that's just a tinny nitpick.
Very close to be the definitive version of the character! The new body is awesome, and Hasbro also corrected the size of the head, with a totally new sculpt that looks even better than the one included with Jango! The bad news, the swappable helmet is slightly smaller even compared to other swappable clone helmets and Hasbro keeps mixing animated style features. The weird part is, with this new head size, removable helmets could be adjusted to not be oversized anymore, tried it with several old clone helmets like the AT-RT driver.
I think they likely used Commander Rex instead of Captain Rex on the cardback just so they could have a different name on there because they've already made two other Captain Rex figures in TVC.
I mean, the animated pauldron seems to just be how his pauldron actually looks. When every single official depiction of realistic p2 Rex, whether it be figures, statues, artwork, comics, or even live action itself, uses that pauldron for Rex, it's pretty clear that that's just what his actual pauldron looks like.

@@ODST4553 Bly can be explained as them just wanting to reuse assets since it's easier than making an entirely new pauldron design, while the other commanders we see with the pauldron might just use that type of pauldron. I mean, there have always been multiple types of pauldrons used by clones all the way back in Legends, so I don't see a problem with a few clones having a different type of pauldron to the ones seen in ROTS.
@@CloneCommanderCrater1102same could be said about ROTS Clones, since they are CGI as well and reuse assets, like how all members of the 327th wear the same gear, even with mirrored pauldrons having the same design. Besides concept art for the clone wars states that the troopers wear ROTS gear.
@ComandanteElite I guess the most likely answer to this is that Rex's pauldron was originally just a stylized version of the ROTS pauldron for the animated series, but over time the animated pauldron on Rex has just become what his realistic pauldron looks like and he just canonically has a different pauldron design to other clone commanders.
I believe the clones continued to use their ranks as a sign of respect. For example in season 7 of the clone wars the clones called Ahsoka a commander. But in that case, he should be captain and not a commander....but however haha.
I'm praying we see an updated Cody on this buck. And I know it's a major stretch but I would love a phase 1 of both figures too. The fact that hasbro complains that they can't afford newly tooled figures but also won't give us multiple versions of the same character when it would be that easy is so annoying and proves that they're just not trying at all. I've glued the belt and pauldron down and added a bit of paint in a few areas, I just like when I'm able to make my figures look better so easily. I wish hasbro would just send them to us painted properly though, wouldn't be that hard.
Mine had the torso flared out at the diaphragm joint. Had to stick it in hot water and pinch it in so it looked right. Store I got it from had 3, and all 3 had the same problem.
On this body which we can keep for a while it's just fine as is don't need to change it unless it's character specific changes. I want a Cody, fox, neo, bly, gree. I want all the main guys and I God willing an actual good fordo.

I definitely think this is the best 3.75" inch (Phase II) Rex we've gotten to date. I'm extremely happy with him, even if he has some weird qwerks. The helmet and kama are definitely leaning into more of an "animated" look, which is sort of confusing since these are supposed to be "realistic" interpretations of these figures; but I digress. The only gripes I have would be the hands being that of the skinny-mold. Using the skinny-mold'a hands was a very odd choice, but they do hold the pistols very well, so perhaps that was the intention. That being said, if the pistols weren't so ridiculously small, I don't feel like it'd be a huge issue. I also don't love the seam line on the headsculpt, it's very noticeable for me, but the head still looms fantastic. Overall, as I said, I am VERY happy with this figure. I do get the impression that we'll see this figure reused for a version from the Ahsoka series, so maybe that's where we'll get a more "realistic" look. What I want most, though, is a Phase I Rex. Not with the atrocious new removable Phase I helmet, though.
Hey J4 I saw this guy on Monday at Walmart but I couldn’t get him because I already got Sunstreaker at GameStop and my sister didn’t want me to get him
Shame the belt and pauldron still are not realistic styled. It still baffles me that the belt and codpiece on the VC269 mold were made as an single piece instead of separate pieces.
I'm still don't think this is the definitive rex, they made a realistic head sculpt, but still used an animated belt, funny how they sculpted a realistic belt for the cancelled phase 1 version. I'm sure I can modify that, but I shouldn't have to.
To tell you the truth I don't like the Vintage Collection Clone Troopers they're either very stiff or very loose when it comes to their articulation. I personally prefer the Old Saga Legends Clones AKA The Super Articulated Clone Troopers the articulation on those beautiful Troopers isn't stiff or loose but they're perfect say what you want about older Clone models but those ones are just perfect and I personally just wish that Hasbro would just go back to that design I never change it ever again.
dude they knocked off the andor clone. we got boil a wollfe pack trooper boost comie a 212th a 212th medic! there isnt that many he has maybe 20-40 in stock! i ordered some :O Also that crotch piece was supposed to be glued forsure mine is alot of people are getting them like that

I'm great full for the fact they made the helmet a proper head.
Since it's a head, it can look 1000x better than the squishy helmet.

and that is another reason disney sucks cuz there lazy at keeping continuity when it comes to clone trooper design

I found this guy at GameStop recently. I like him I just think he should have had some weathering he just looks kinda naked without it.
