dude you have no idea how important and inspiring these videos are!! I finished my science degree back in 2020 but decided to fuck it all and go all in on music. I'm still very much learning how to shed off my perfectionism too but seeing your progression as a songwriter in such a short time has been the kick in the nuts I needed to just do it. Can't wait to see where you go from here :)
@@mandelbro1 if you ever come down to Australia I'll be first in line to get tickets - or hey maybe one day we'll meet while we're both on tour haha ;)
As someone who isnt able to go fulltime on music because of my family, I have to say I really enjoy your videos. Seems like your having a lot of fun in the band. But if youre dream doesnt work out, I can say having a 'normal' life and recording and playing shows with old friends every now and then is also quite nice :)
Your living environments, your large and almost luxurious rehearsal spaces, the fact your whole band can focus a whole month on making a new album, the international bands you tour with, the fact you can hire an apprentice - all this tells me this wouldn't be possible without money behind. As a software developer to save enough to sustain a whole year of living is a feat in itself, but i very much doubt it's enough to sustain a whole band. So how can the other band members afford it ? You're not telling the whole story. It's either rich kids parents money or some other form of external investments, pretty obviously.
honestly i almost never comment on videos but i always feel the urge to comment on yours. 1. because you're really inspiring and i love the stuff you do 2. because i want to contribute a bit to your videos getting recognized by the algorithm anyways have a nice day
This is a pro move ! Getting someone to help you with the social media side of things is gonna help you a lot I can’t wait to see the future of this band !
I'm following your journey since your first video, although I have nothing to do with making music. It's more that I really like your attitude towards what you can achieve with your passion. I wish you the best and that the risk pays off!
Votre enthousiasme me fait toujours plaisir à voir ; à 67 ans avec vous je revis un peu ma jeunesse, ne lâchez rien. J’espère que vous viendrez dans le Sud Ouest ( Albi ) , merci.
This is really awesome, go nuts on the tour!!! this journey of yours is so inspiring to us to go follow our own dreams, even if its not related to music.. really hope you guys make a lot of new fans and keep growing and who knows.. one day I'll be able to see it live, cheers from brazil guys
Extremely inspiring, once again ! I am so happy for you that your project is going that well (I mean, a UK tour in 6 month is notable ^^). I've already commented on a previous video, since then I made a few steps forward toward my personnal objectives, even tho my studies doesn't allows me to go too far from now. As always, I wish all the best for your band, thank you very much... et à la prochaine ! :D
Did something similar last year, was definitely a good move. Just realized i am not going to be a professional musician, but want to work in the spirit of music. Taking plenty of time, following a vision of beauty, work in small teams of craftsmen I respect... Lets see where it goes
Thank you so much Mandelbro, I feel the creative fire inside me being re-ignited... thank you so much for having the courage to share your process, it's so fucking useful and really inspiring to see you face your fears and do it anyway. And I love the can-do attitude you all seem to have. Big up! Best of luck to you in all your music making, and I hope to share a stage with you someday, when I have my band! 😉 x
Best of love for you and may success go your way! You've grown so much and I'm so inspired and emotional of how far you've come. Maybe someday I'll also get away from the chains of living a "safe" life and go the way I always wanted. Big love man. Thank you so much.
Very Inspiring. I was considering quitting music to get a normal job because I felt like it didn't make sense for me to continue since there are 10s of thousands of songs and musicians out there and the world does not need my songs. I feel encouraged to do music again. Thank you for your video. May God bless you in your musical endeavors.
Hey, I came across your channel through your FFMPEG videos... I'm also (still) in tech. Enjoyed watching these videos about your journey into music, all the best with the band project! :)
Hi dude! Loving this series soooooo much. So inspiring and full of insights for me as a developing solo rock artist! Can I ask you which laptop+configuration you are using for your music & video production?
i know this is an old video, but i plan to quit my job in october to focus on my music career full time! i think i can become one of the greatest artist ever if i put my all into it, i can make all types of music i’m just waiting for that right time to dive into the unknown good luck to everybody out there who’s on the same journey
Do you want to come to Phoenix, Arizona, USA? I'll backline your full band for a street festival we have on the first Friday of every month?? There's about 20,000 people in attendance!!!
To do what you are doing, requires a large lumpsum of money. Either one of you has it, or you are slightly misleading us. Ive done this before, i know exactly what kind of doe we are talking
tech pays pretty well, plus if they're living pretty frugally it seems realistic - though I would definitely get a part time job or apply for welfare payments if possible just for the extra cash haha
@@rousd11 tech pays well, but not enough to sustain a whole band. How are the other band members doing it ? They have time to focus on an album for a full month, have the money to rent luxurious rehearsal spaces, and time to go on international tours, while affording an apprentice to shoot the videos. You can't do that with a day job or one person's savings as a software developer.
Absolute banger.

Prioritizing is so hard, but so important
Hahah! That Nathaniel Drew jumpscare cameo was WILD!!!

Great inspiration :) Love your addiction to music :)

Fucking sick dude
such an inspiring geezer
Annoyingly, I missed your London performance. because TH-cam didnt drop this video into my sub box.
très bien!
YESSS!!!
Youre a good person
Glad you found a balance that works for you! Now if only I could find a balance for me…
YESSSSSS
hey, is there a next part?
I know it's the "final" episode (maybe (for now)) but still...
:D
You indeed have a lot of faith
keep it up
thanks!
nathaniel drew was an unexpected appearance for me
How did you find people who wanted to form a band and make it work as much as you wanted to?
❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥
💯💯💯
Sooooo are you making enough to support your life? Or did you spend all your savings?? Please tell me that it's going fine!!
what is the song at 10:29??
A month to write a song? Lou Reed 5-6 songs in 1 day and Warhol would tell him that’s not enough, you need to write more!
New to the channel, genuinely surprised you haven't got more subs/views, huge love from the UK
If you need a support band hmu lol xx
I learned one thing from this video:
I’m not a TH-camr 😅
Can you refer your clients to me
Hire someone to do the edits

so you made no money?
For the past 6 months? Yep
