What a wonderful concert despite the weather. Really uplifting and it sounds like it is very much needed in your world at the moment. Lovely to "see" you, Cara. You and I need to stay away from hospitals! I do hope your dad rebounds quickly and is able to return home soon. I'm sorry to hear about your own stresses with your thyroid. I never had an issue with mine until I hit menopause - what an annoyance. Hopefully yours will be resolved without further intervention. I want to thank you for posting the video clips of the concert. What an absolute treat to hear both of them! It's funny that you made Pamona shorts this week. I did as well! I finally broke down and bought the pattern. I can see why it's so popular and it uses so little fabric! I also printed out the new free pattern from Maison Fauve, the Grenadine mini skirt. It is so beautiful and I love the swoosh design detail using piping. With my most recent patterns and fabric delivery from them, I couldn't stop smelling the fabric! It makes me sound crazy, but I loved the scent on it so much I emailed their customer service and asked what they used. Did you know that Emilie has been working with a perfume company to create a new scent specifically for MF? They will be offering it on their site in September. It's so elegant and lovely. Goodness, I do ramble on. Have a wonderful week and I look forward to your next update. All my best to you and your dad.

Here in France the weather has been pretty rubbish too. A few hot days but loads and loads of rain and quite a few storms. The owner of the forest where we walk the dog says he has never seen it so wet and he has lived here more than 60 years. I do sympathise with your dog sitting problems. We have long had the same issues and my current dog hates being in the car, so travelling with her is very difficult. I do hope you find a solution. Speak to your vet as they often know people they trust. I do love your black eyelet cami and think I will make something similar myself. I am just making my first Donny shirt that I am really enjoying. Love seeing all the remnant items you have made and the fabrics are gorgeous.

I enjoyed the catch up and I look forward to the UK weather updates! I’m in western Canada and we’ve had two weeks of very hot sunny +30 degree Celsius weather. However, I much prefer a cloudy day and cooler weather, lol 😊

Hi Cara I’ve been through the whole thyroid biopsy business 4 years ago, fingers crossed for you and best wishes to your Dad. I’m in Ireland sewing some Cushin covers for my new house. I got some old furniture reupholstered and asked the lady to keep the scraps for me so I’m doing some matching patchwork Cushin covers.

Lovely vlog as always Cara. I hope your Dad is better soon, and your thyroid issues are easily resolved. Seeing that fantastic concert must have been amazing, not withstanding the weather. I am from sunny Queensland, Australia but at the moment we are going through a cold snap (9 degrees to 19 today. Hopefully the weather in the UK warms up soon. Love all of your scrap buster makes and gorgeous green Cuba Libre. Angela’s looks a bit too large, but I hope she’s able to work out the fit because it’s stunning. I took my sewing machine and overlocker in for servicing, and when I went to pick them up, only the sewing machine was ready. I’ll have to work on projects that don’t require overlocking. I’m sorry to hear that your dad is feeling poorly and hope that he feels better soon. Happy sewing, Cara.

A brilliant video as always. Your garments are beautiful. Sending lots of positive vibes for you and your Dad. Your video clips have brought back happy memories of the concert - its hard to believe that a week has passed already. I think that my back has just about recovered - standing for such a long time in the one spot was a little painful by the end, but it was worth it.

I know an elderly lady who lives near me who takes a family pet into her home whilst the owner is away.
Im not sure who shes registered with but there might be somebody like that near you who you could find and see if they both get along together as a solution .
