Genie is good when parks are super busy and you need to maximize your today. Random weekday of course genie is not necessary. 👍
Looks like a nice morning! My GF and I did Disneyland on the first day of genie. We didn't buy genie+. Got into the park at 8:10, and did Space Mountain, Matterhorn, Small World, Snow White, Thunder Mountain, INDY, and Splash Mountain all before noon. Had lunch and then knocked out ROTR in an hour. Just gotta know how to work the crowds!
Also Provost Park Pass does his "spin" on the golden zepper of the history and background. Great video also!

This actually very informative and yes always go to rope drop to make it worth while. Nice planning guys..there's just something about rope drop that makes it special. Finally went my first time and just strolling down main street with my brother made it like a different type of magical to disney.
When I go to DCA, I always hit up Guardians first, then do Single Rider at Radiator Springs and Incredicoaster.
Also, the way I now do DCA is a Genie+ money-saving hack

Ah this was so much fun! If the line for Radiator Springs is super long, my husband and I will go to one of the Cozy Cones and get a vodka lemonade, then drink that while we wait in the line! Makes the wait much more bearable, especially in the summer heat!
The vodka lemonade is the bomb!!
This was so good and informative, great job Katie and Spencer! It's really amazing that you can go to Disneyland and have a great day without using Genie+. I have never used the service before and I plan on not using it for my future Disneyland vacations. It's very expensive and you can save up a lot without it. I went on Radiator Springs first thing when I rope dropped at DCA last year and then I zoomed on over to Guardians Of The Galaxy after that. When I stopped to eat lunch at Lamplight Lounge, I had a 30 minute wait and during that time, I went on Little Mermaid and my table was called right after I got off.

great video!! rope drop is definitely the best strategy to get those popular rides out of the way first thing. i see you posted this on 1/6/21. can you tell me (1) what the overall crowds are like on the weekdays the first week of january after new year’s day, (2) how late the parks are typically open that week, and (3) if there are fireworks and other nighttime shows during the week? we are trying to plan a trip for january 2-5, 2023. thanks for all the fun vlogs you put out. they make my heart happy!!

Great video again guys. The whole family is sitting on the couch right now watching. When we visit there, we are early morning fans as well. It’s funny, as we were watching, we seen the wet ground and as the sun came out my wife said to me “can you smell that? (Lol) “ she was referring to the smell of the morning air at Disneyland. It’s something that sticks with you for the rest of your life.

Swings is my fave!! I’m a bit afraid of heights, and I do it because it’s worth it! Zephyr actually scares me more weirdly, but the fam loves that one best. Funny, opposite of Katie, I can’t do Goofy’s at all. I’m afraid of edges/cliffs way more than heights, and no issues with twists & turns.it’s all personal pref!

I was there that day definitely worth going early in themorning got on all the big rides first thing in the morning for both parks
I'm with Katie on Goofy's sky school; not my favorite. Wild mouse coasters make me feel like we're going to fly off the track on every turn
Love the rope drop tips, don't know when we can go back next, but I'm always trying to get my family to the parks early, but none of us are morning people. It's a struggle 🤣
I couldn't ride Goofys Sky School thing if it's a Wild Mouse ride. Nope. Nu-uh.

I am totally with Katie on the spinning rides 🤢 my motion sickness could never! I recommend dramamine for anyone who gets motion sickness on spinning rides! You have to take it like 30 minutes before but it helps me a ton

Good disclaimer about the day you visited because I think that is a huge factor. We Rope Dropped DCA too but on a weekend and waited 55 min for RSR. Another good option is to utilize the Single Rider option.
We are going back on Wednesday for Gabbys bday and will see how Genie+ works out for us. Or maybe we won't use it will see.

The Incredicoaster looks like it’s running much better than when it was operating as the California Screamin’. It was breaking down a lot and didn’t seem to run as fast. We rode it back in 2013 before that whole area was returned to Pixar Pier. Does DCA still have the Muppet Vision 3D?
If you are going to spend the money, probably better to buy genie+ to use everywhere else and rope drop radiator springs. It is a bit more, but you also will end up saving more time.

I'm going on a Monday at the end of July. Radiator spring races, soarin and gardians are my must do rides. Shall I do genie plus and just rush straight to Radiator springs at rope drop or head to Gardians and pay extra for the cars lightning lane? Thanks

Hi guys! Hello from Brooklyn, New York. I wanted to ask you a question. I visited Disney Land in 1992, I had one issue with the park that could not be helped. I was very dismayed that you can see buildings, hotels and signs from outside the park proper. I know this fact didn’t sit well with Walt either and I haven’t been back since. While watching your videos I don’t see that is a problem anymore. Can you tell me if that is the case currently. I would really like to come back to Disney Land and give it a second try. Love and Happy New Year to you both!!

For the radiator spring racer do we need to have lighting lane to ride it? Or we can just pay for it and do stand by to ride?
Lightning Lane is not required. You can use the stand by lane with your DCA base ticket.

They were part of the Minnie Main Attraction line in 2020 where every month had a different attraction theme. Since DL was closed @ the time they were only released in WDW, on ShopDisney & I think Disney Stores had a limited amount. It was practically impossible to get anything online. Katie got super lucky & they were @ WDW when they were released. I don't think the stuff that is popular here is as popular over there. These ears are the only ones I really wanted. It hurts a little every time I see her wearing them...lol

I went to DCA yesterday for the first time with my girlfriend. We rope dropped Guardians. We ended up doing it twice since there was no wait time. We could’ve done it a third time but we choose to do other rides. Your video helped out a ton. I was wondering what are you favorite ride(s) at DCA?
