What a great moment for you two. I wish my father and I shared that intimate love and magical connection to music as do you guys. God Bless!! and thanks!
I am a 15 years old Malaysian who is a fan of Cat Stevens... My English teacher was quite surprised to know that a person aged 15 knew about Yusuf... A large number of my peers doesn't recognise this talented man. While most people in my area was swept away by the Korean Wave and modern music, I'm still safe under the moonshadow of Steve's music! Salaam (peace) to both of you, God bless!
That’s awesome! Kudos to you for listening to the legendary man he is. Not many people from this generation know who he is. You’ve got great taste! God bless you too! -S
You two really need to cherish these moments together, and the fact you get to have it on video for posterity. 40 years from now hopefully you will both be around to reminisce about it. Take it from someone in his mid 60's that misses his Dad everyday and wish I had some video to watch of us together. You never realize how much your parents know till you are old yourself.
I just have to tell dad that you have an amazing young son, he is great at listening to the music I grew up with and he listens to every word and always hits the nail right on the head. I love to watch this great young man reaction to music because he reacts better than the older reactors I've seen, my son is exactly like your son and we are so blessed to have them.
This song has gone full circle for me. I was 15 y/o when this song came out and I learned to play it because I could obviously relate to the 'son's' verses (higher voice 2nd & 4th verse). Now I'm 64 and I still play it, only I have a better understanding of the 'father's' part (lower voice, 1st and 3rd verse). I have a 27 y/o son, he's my pride and joy.
Love that you reacted as father and son. This song is about a son who is about to move out on his own, and the conversation he and his Dad have. The low parts are the dad, the high parts are the son.
There’s something very beautiful about a father and son connecting. I lost my father five years ago. And this video in this song brings tears to my eyes. These moments are precious with your father. And it appears that this is a good son with an open heart and open mine to these wonderful lyrics
Thank y'all so much for this, thank you for the best wishes. True, it's not an easy time but tu his most definately lifts my spirits. Happy tears are being shed. I will miss him so, but y'all just lifted me up. Thank you so much, much love and respect. A thank you to the people in the comments for the well wishes, you ALL rock, peace🌹♥️

Awesome reaction guys,....this song strikes a chord for me, I first heard this song when I was 14yrs old,( I'm 45 now) the old guy who owned the local takeaway shop had a guitar and played and sung this for me cause I was learning to play the guitar, I choked up .......the power of just a guitar and a voice.............I still play and sing it now......🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺👍👍👍
I’m 58 years old.... I drove around in the middle of the night as a teenager listening to this and singing the son’s verse at the top of my lungs. My father never got it. He died less than a year ago and I did not go to his funeral and I don’t miss him or regret it. Fathers out there.... you are the adults. It is your job to hear your kids. Listen to them. It is not their job as adults to forgive you.
This song always brings a tear to my eye!! To me it's about a conversation between an elder father and his son who has come of age!! The father has seen his son grow up too quickly and is not ready to let him go!! He tells him take it easy son your young you have your whole life ahead of you don't rush into things! Living the simple life isn't so bad find yourself a girl get married live a simple life like I have! I'm old but I'm happy!! But the son wants more in his life than just an ordinary life like his father had he wants greater things!! Every time he tries to get this point across to his father it's like talking to a wall his father doesn't understand!! And the son knows he has to go and live his own life or he will just stagnate!! Such a beautiful and very relatable story to many people!!
been listening to this since it came out in 1970...still do...you guys are great,,thats a smart kid you have ,,you should be proud,,he seems to have a good head on his shoulders,,CAT is my all time fav single artist so this has really moved me to see such a young kid become exsposed to this and then understanding it,,,KUDUSto you both!

Pretty much everyone everywhere bought it as soon as it appeared in the stores. (This was WAY before the internet.) I still know all the words to almost every song he put out. That's the staying power of meaningful songs, right there. ❀ -- -- > I had really great, understanding, supportive parents back in the day, and we still found generational stuff difficult at times. -- -- -- > My own children are 35 and 27; and despite everything I know, and how I wanted to be to/for them, and all my better intentions, I still found myself on the other side of these kinds of interactions a time or two. Tillerman is 50 years old this year good to see the song can still connect with a younger audience. Cat Stevens is timeless. Can I request you react to What Colour Is The Wind by Charlie Landsborough please
I love this song. I knew it was a son and now I know it was a father. So I was watching the facial expressions. What I expected, and saw, was your son listening to the flow of the song and the harmonies. But you as the father listening to the lyrics with experience. Your eyes closed showed appreciation and thinking back to experiences you know your son will understand one day.
I love your Billy Joel shirt! My favourite artist of all time. Sorry, didn't mean to take away from the great song that is "Father and Son". I'm glad you two listened to this beauty. Cat Stevens is a great artist and makes a lot of songs that are similar in style to this one. "Moonshadow" is another fantastic one. Happy that you enjoyed it.
Love your reactions! Your son gets it. Dad, I was with you with the eyes closed! We know! Beautiful song! 👍 One of my favorites! I think it's great you do the reactions with your son. Your son is well-spoken, good job dad! 👍👊
Well dad, I have to say your son is just a genious into listening to this beautiful song. I would also like to say lots of love & good wishes to yourselves, Ron & his family
Ron, wishing you only the best. F & S, I'll bet I've listened to the "Tea for the Tillerman" album at least a 1000 times in my life thru high school and college, and today remains in the top ten of my favorite albums of all time. My kids, always wanting to please me, know my love of music and have given me only 2 CD's back in the day that I had as albums, but wanted on CD. They were "Tea for the Tillerman" and the Beatles "White" album. S, I agree with your F, you're very perceptive and precocious. Thoroughly enjoyed your gesture to Ron. Try the rest of the album when you get a chance in its entirety as it flows from song to song. Hope you enjoy it as much as I have.
Hi Guys. So nice to see the mutual respect and love between you two, and be part of your family. The bond between the family which is the human race, is what we really, really need especially now. Today 29th May is the 42nd anniversary of my father passing, ironically that also means the age gap is 42 yrs. So like this song it's both a sad and joyful time to remember loved ones.
You two are awesome! Not only the song gets to you, I relate as a dad of 3, but also the way you looked at your son while he was explaining the song. Man, keep it up you guys 👐
That's an important One , teach your son first what your failed , than what you reached no matter what ... he already know who you are . Show him what is possible no matter what , may him believen in his way , he had to go anyhow .
Excellent reaction to an excellent song! Son - I love how you pay attention and make your own calls about tunes...this one is "spot on", as they would say. I love it! Thanks.
Very nice reaction. I guess you know that it's a conversation between a father (deep voice) and son ( higher register). I've loved Cat since I was 14 (63 now). He converted to Islam years ago and left the music business but I'm so happy he's coming back again.
Song brings back great memories for me, of a time in my life that was, in the words of Dickens, both "the best of times, and the worst of times". Even though I was the Daughter, and not the Son, I still strongly identify with the struggle taking place in the song. Thanks for doing such a beautiful song! Mr. Stevens has been one of my favorite singer/songwriters. I love that he always made us THINK, as well as feel strong emotions.
Heard this song an uncountable amount of times and every time the emotions with my late grandfather, father and 4 children destroy me to a sobbing mess. Every single time.
Love Cat, and your reaction. Hoping nothing but the best for Ron. I knew you guys were special from the beginning, and watching the relationship between the 2 of you, only validates that. Great appreciation of a Cat Stevens classic. Love the sharing between you both and with us. Thanks! Can I suggest you react to Alain Clark Father and Friend ... think you'll appreciate it! Best wishes from England in these strange times
So nice to see first the love Father and Son, also you guys! My name is Han from Holland. Please react to Alain Clark Father and Friend! Alain sings to his father and his father reacts in song
Your son is as good at reacting to music as anybody doing this stuff, his(and your) breakdowns on the songs are spot on, plus y'all don't step all over the music while it is playing like 90% of others do. I really like the part of this when the son sings "from the moment I could talk I was ordered to listen" and tried as a father to remind myself of this phase while raising my kids.
hey guys, please, could you react to some of the works of André Matos? He was a brazilian musician, he was a singer, composer, maestro and pianist. He unfortunately passed away at the 8th of June of 2019, and it was a shock for all of his fans world-wide and even people that just knew his bands by name... He played on bands such as Viper(1985-1991), the most famous one Angra(1991-2000), Shaman(2000-2006), then his solo career, besides another projects like Virgo, Symfonia and a project with the guys from an american prog metal band called Sieges Even. He was just 47 years old... He really loved his country and was proud to show the world what we're capable of musically, even with all the music degradation across the globe, he was persistent, yet with his death the media didn't care at all, at max a channel made a homage of 3 minutes, but nothing more than that... The politicians even less, it's pretty sad and if you could react to one or some of his work would be awesome and it would mean the world for his fans such as myself. My request is this one th-cam.com/video/zMB6GyTB5JY/w-d-xo.html the song is from the album Holy Land(1996) or maybe Fairy Tale from Shaman live in 2003, the band he formed right after he left Angra th-cam.com/video/t4PI2Eb6FsQ/w-d-xo.html, I'd send you the album version of both but I'd like you to see André Matos and how his perfomance was. People might have another requests, I know you do a video per reaction, so I don't know, the first one would be my main guess, it truly is hard to pick just one performance of him, because there's the soft songs he sang and the heavy ones, and all flawlessly sung. It'd mean a lot if you do that. Thank you!
"S" if you want to hear more from Cat Stevens, may I suggest....Morning has broken, Peace Train, Moonshadow, Wild World and Oh Very Young. All terrific soul-touching music by a very talented man.
WHEN CAT STARTS THIS SONG HIS VOICE IS DEEP , LIKE THE FATHER TRYING TO TELL HIS SON SOMETHING. WHEN YOU HEAR HIS VOICE GO HIGH THAT IS THE SON RESPONDING TO THE FATHER. LISTEN TO THIS SONG AGAIN, AND REALLY LISTEN
I've performed that one in concert a few times - it's not that easy to pull off. A great song. Queen did a song called "Father to Son" that is phenomenal
Yeah I know that song! I pretty much know every song by Queen already! 😂 My favorite by them is “Fairy Fellers Master Stroke” while my father’s favorite is “39” -S

You guys are awesome!, Subscribed!
Thanks Angie! Rock on!🤘 -S
hey guys, please, could you react to some of the works of André Matos?
👍😎
Also try listening to: "Boy With The Moon and Star On His Head".
Got a great kid there dad. Good job!
This song is a true gem❤️
Sure is 💛 -S
The softer side of this moving song is the father and the louder side is the son
From the moment I could talk I was ordered to listen.
Great line👍 -Ethan
I loved that, never Hurd it before
Cat Stevens 'Where Do The Children Play?' next please.
@@fatherandsonreactions Queen 2 is my fave Queen album - koodos to your great taste!

Wish we could do billy Joel , we know just about all of his songs - F
Yeah love Billy Joel! More Judas Priest please! :) Pat Benatar too!
I love Pat Benatar. Snuck backstage and met her and her husband about 20 years ago. She was very nice about it and took pics with us ! -F
Wow thats cool! I seen them lher about 10 times, Billy Joel 3 times, Priest about 15 times.lol Night Ranger and Deo your son might like them.
Cried as a teen. Parents that don't listen r not doing their children justice.
I think I cried more about the soul from this kid than I did the song!
