    Excellent review and superb video quality. I hardly leave comments but had to compliment you. I am strongly considering buying one of these vehicles and your brief yet complete and thorough video helped me considerably. Well done!

    Great review! I like how you speak with us as if we’re sitting right there in the passenger seat.

    Great review. You hit the 3 main things that are important to me without dragging on about technical specs like most do.
    I’ve had an Altima for the last 6 yrs or so and it’s been underatedly nice and reliable. I had not considered this model when looking at SUV’s much, but the value seems really good in the used market compared to most others right now.

    Excellent review. Concise and well produced. I'm having a difficult time choosing between a 2018 Armada and a 2016 Volvo XC90 T6 R. I do about 11-12 hours of driving a week and I know that the Volvo would save me money on gas, but the Armada is such a beast and a real pleasure to drive. Thanks for the great review, liked and subscribed.

    Great review. Thank you. I would probably add some background info in your review, since the Armada is based on the same Y62 platform of the international Nissan Patrol, which have proved as a great SUV and is a very appreciated beast in markets like Australia, South Africa and the Middle East. Of course the one we are getting here lacks the off road goodies that has everywhere else, but the American market require comfort and luxury in this segment that is not a priority abroad. All that said, and as a foreign guy adopted by this wonderful land, I've always dreamed to own a Patrol, and I recently was able to get the 2018 Armada, as the closest thing available in the US, with 8,5 K under the sticker price, which is for me, a GREAT deal for a dream come true. Anyone could probably get a little more as today for the remaining of the 2017 in stock, but I just loved more USB ports available, the 8 inch updated infotainment (even though is far from been the best around) and a year less of depreciation.

    I test drove one of these lately. The QX60 had awful rear seating for adults (2nd row resulting in knees near chin so I didn't bother checking the 3rd row) and the qx80 was above my pay grade. The Armada has a lot of value per dollar. The engine and transmission are slick. Acceleration is instantaneous and you don't notice the shifts. Best vehicle I've tested so far. It seems like a lot more value for your dollar than the Sequoia (with its dated powertrain, dated exterior.. and well.. it's just dated). Nissan isn't keeping up on infotainment. The system is ok, but there are cheaper vehicles out there with better systems.
    The fuel economy (while better than the Sequoia) is pretty horrid. I'm trying to replace a truck. I want some ability to tow, but more interior space and better fuel economy. Interior of the Armada is awesome. It tows more than I need. At $1.30/liter gas (>$5/gallon), it's just too thirsty. I know, I know.. it's a truck based SUV and even the 2018 Expedition with the 3.5 ecoboost barely gets better fuel economy. The problem is with the crossover craze there isn't really much in between.
    Next up is the Atlas. Supposedly class leading space, decent economy (comparable with Highlander etc) and tows enough for my needs (on paper).
    If this thing got 16mpg city with low 20s highway I would have been really tempted to stop my hunt short.

      You make some very good points and I agree. I'm excited to check out the Atlas too. Thanks for watching and leaving your comments.

      Thanks for the good review. Just wish you had more criticisms so I could rule it out completely.
      Any suggestions of other big people movers to check out?
      I'm sure I could be happy with a gx460, but that's more than I want to spend and same fuel economy issue. The current 4runner is ancient. It drives well, but the drivetrain is behind the times. If they updated that with direct injection and an 8-speed transmission I'd be all over it.

      Have you considered the new Land Rover Discovery or the Audi Q7? Both of these start around $50,000 and have third row seating. The third row might be a little cramped for adults. They definitely get better gas mileage than the Armada. The 2.0 Audi gets 19/25. The new 3.0 numbers haven't been released yet. Granted these are smaller engines than the Armada. The Land Rover has an available diesel engine that gets 21/26 and the gas version gets 16/21. Let me know your thoughts and I'll keep meditating on this.

    What would be some good lease deals on this. Choose nissan has rediculas lease deals for 44k sv for 480$ 4k down😂

    • @PhilsMorningDrive
      @PhilsMorningDrive  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Wow that sound pretty good even for an SV. The one in this video with these options leases for somewhere in the $700s depending on miles per year and down payment.

    • @f-22raptor25
      @f-22raptor25 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      for a 44k car its still a lot and 2018 ones are coming soon you can get 10k discount for 2017 models. For platinum $700s is okey as its almost 60k.

    • @brucec43
      @brucec43 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Practically the same as a purchase. Over 3 years Armadas depreciation about $5500/year. That's $458/mo. The interest on $44K over that period is about $100/mo. That gives a lease equivalent of about $558/mo with nothing down, or correspondingly lower with a down payment. . The $4K down on a lease is about $115/month, plus the lease payment, gives a real lease payment of about $573.
      So cost is a wash. But when you own you have the flexibility to keep it and it will get cheaper, sell it if you need to w/o paying off the lease in full, your only downside is that you have to negotiate when you trade it in or sell it.
      But please, my wife is a leasing executive, there is no magic that makes any lease cheaper than buying. Usually they are more expensive.
