+James Repenning I still have a working 26-year old SNES with a couple of games (yes, ofcourse this one too!). My older brothers and sister used to play on it a lot and played with me too as soon as I was old enough. We just wanted to play again today but unfortunately we lost a cable. Me oldest brother ordered a new one on Amazon.
I really love this game back in the days. I used to play this with my cousin. We never really finished the game because it's so hard in the later levels. It's a masterpiece game deserve a remake or remaster.
The pyramid levels were my favorite when I played this game. Very atmospheric-the mummies emerging from their tombs, the walls springing up behind you, etc. Plus the pyramid soundtrack is, in my opinion, the best in the game.
I remember when I was little, my uncle bought me the SNES, and the games super mario world and this. Was the first 2 video-games I ever played, and then my life as a gamer started :') So many memories! I never could get past level 20. Would run out of ammo before killing them worms! I really hated the dudes with the chainsaws, those jelly spiders, and the FREAKIN SCREAMING KIDS WITH THE AXES!!!! I swear those little guys gave me nightmares lmao
One of my top favorite SNES games. A multiplayer rogue-like remake of it would be amazing. Same graphics, more characters, more weapons and instead of levels you just go from 'biome' to biome competing and/or cooperating with other players to save as many victims as you can and fighting the occasional boss, like the giant baby and Dr. Tongue's monsters.
Something iv learned about this game, was that the first 6-7 levels were to prepare you for the rest of the game. Gave you a bunch of resources, a lot of which you wont need until much further levels. But the more you go on into the game, the less overall essentials you will find. I remember having difficulty finding waterguns at a certain point of the game.
Why do people keep comparing Dark Souls to old harder games, when these old games were built difficult in mind to get the most replay out of them as they were usually pretty short? These old games weren't bloated, and didn't overstay their welcome, so developers had to make them harder in order for you to get your money's worth.
Man, I forgot all about this game. Back in the day, I used to play this and other NHES games with my Bros, and we had a blast. Funny how the simpler things can bring such happiness. It's the people who share it with you that makes all the difference in the world.
Still one of the toughest final bosses I've ever faced in gaming. Sandbagging your items and saving the good stuff like potions and artefacts until the final boss like in this video is the only way I ever beat him too. Awesome game, even if the lack of a save system is infuriating!
@Geisty Cat I think the reason they didn't have a save was due to limitations and they said in the developer commentary that they wanted it to be like an arcade game. The game isn't as hard as it seems as well. If you figure out the secrets to it you can easily best it. Bosses too. For instance, Dr.Tongue is easily killable especially with plates. And you can use 1 Monster Potion and get him stuff in the bottom left corner of the level and just sit there til he dies as long as the potion Doesn't glitch out making you have to walk to punch.
Man this game brings me back to when gaming was actually more of a hobby than a lifestyle. So much Buzz Cola, calling the 1800 tip number, and seeing the sun come up.
My favorite game of Super Nintendo! I used to play it when I was around 8 years old and I could never finish it. It was so hard... I got until level 36 because I remember very well that big spider that I could never beat. I still have my Snes and it works after more than 20 years, I am 28 now and a couple of months ago I could get this game again! And now, I can finally say that I finished the game!! So proud of myself. haha
Wow so nostalgic! It’s been like 20years since we played this with my sisters screaming like crazy 😂🤣 We couldn’t finish it though. We were only until Level 11!
god man, my cousin and i, we played this game every day for about 8 years, and we could never get past level 46, we would sit there and play it through day after day, fuckin amazing memories
Wow! I remember playing this game when I was a kid!!! It brings back so many good memories! Me and my sister used to play this all the time!! They don't make games like this anymore! The music was the best lol
Your level of expertise in this game is off the charts... Thank you for posting a playthrough of this cult classic video game. ⭐️🙌🏻🎮 💯 (I had no idea the sand dragons are weak against the dinner plates... 🙅🏻♂️🍽🐉)
Oh my gosh WHAT A GAME! Although i did have friends, the nights alone playing this game were the best, late at night, mum asleep and none the wiser that I was staying up most of the night playing this!! LOL
One of my favorite games. You' ve got great music; a ton of weapons; many different enemies types, each with it' s own weakness; a sense of humor; secrets - it' s perfect. Also: RickyC is really good at this.
thanks for this walk through. i just got the game for my sega and didnt realize all the cool hidden stuff. i dont know how many times i walked past the flamethrower and didnt realize it was there!
At last I was able to see the ending, thank you. I smiled when I saw the Purple Tentacle from "Day of the Tentacle" (another of my favorite games) doing a cameo here. :D
mano que sdds desse jogo, tava pesquisando "snes station gameplay" aí do nada eu acho a gameplay desse jogo, lembro que joguei muito esse jogo,até consegui zerar
I’m not a 90’s kid, but I do remember playing this on my dad’s sega genesis. It was my favorite game back then, I sucked so bad at it but it was fun, I really regret selling it.
I remember playing this at age of 5 & 6.. btw i was born in 91.. so the game was already old by the time i played it. it was my uncles game & i remember playing it & could'nt sleep after but i loved to play it. just the thought of a water gun killing a zombie had me hooked lol
I love the many secret bonuses that are implemented in the game, including in the first stage many players overlook in the bush at 0:52 - I also did not know the alien ship could be destroyed or throwing the football to the players was possible. I hope to play again and finally complete all 48 levels.
I was never able to beat it. It's the only game that has haunted at me because I left it unfinished. I was never able to kill the giant purple spider that keep me from the only cheerleader I had to save.
man the good ol days I remember waking up on the weekends to watch monster ranch and play dis shit all day with my mom n she was obsessed with this game
Its like being a fit young warrior and then letting yourself go, and developing a big gut and wheezing when you run. Gotta keep your gaming skills sharp. Gotta exercise.
Level 4 was fun and had me on the edge of my seat ! The soundtrack is awesome and sound affects are on point ! Great game overall .... Does anybody know where I can stream it !??
i didnt like it too much. cus some levels were too DAMN difficult for me and i ended up losing over and over again. and its kinda scary when the chainsaw guys chase you lol.
Man, this was one awesome homage to the Universal Monster craze and 1950's B-movies. This game always had this suburban, Graves-era Misfits kind of vibe that was well known throughout the 90's. I wonder why such settings aren't seen that much nowadays? The most recent example of that kind of media I know of is ParaNorman...
This game has some of my favorite music in the 16 bit era. Day of the undead, chainsaw hedge maze terror, mars needs cheerleaders, and of course the opening music
I love this game, but if we didn't have a walkthrough and save states, I would never be able to beat it... When I was a kid I made it to around level 23ish. That's without a walkthrough and on a real console. So many of the rescues just come down to blind luck. Even you lost two victims in level 14 there. The only reason I didn't was because I had save states to try over and over. And the tourists turning into werewolves.... Some of them are down to the second. If you didn't get the speed shoes in level 4, you don't stand a chance of saving all four tourists in level 7. And Even then it's down to the second if you want to save them. I had so much trouble with those stupid worms in level 20 as a kid. How was I supposed to know to hit the damn things in the mouth and not the gigantic body... Wasted all my ammo just killing one, maybe two. Let's not forget about the stupid giant baby. You're supposed to stand next to the corner of the building, wait for the baby to trap itself, turn into a monster and punch it to death.... I read some BS about using soda cans. 60 hits and it still didn't die...
I beated the game without save states on an actual Super NES, but yes, it´s hard as hell. I lost the game MANY times before beating it, the good thing is that once you beat the game for the first time, you have enough experience to finish it form level 1 to level 48 without using passwords. By the way, congrats for beating the game.
My old man an I beat this game so many times. It's my all time favorite game. He knew every secret in it. R.I.P.
did you really finished the game?
@@Hairo369 no he was lying
And*
@@Hairo369 finish*
I farted on you're dad
Everyone who beat this game even once should have a gold medal for great gaming skills and patience.))
Very hard game to accomplish.
Well thank you, though the game itself, the magic, and memories seemed rewarding enough. Especially now with ROMhacks out there.
This game was fantastic for its era, and the music was great for the time period.
Styxhexenhammer666 what are you talking about the music is still awesome in this time period
Styxhexenhammer666 interesting to randomly find you on this video lol
Hope they can do it in nintendo switch
@@fruitypebble907 Yep I have a load of it on my ipod.
METAL1ON I jam out to it sometimes when I’m in the mood for it
My god the nostalgia... I can’t even explain how it feels to see this after all these years.
The bizzareness of the game is captivating. I never got to finish it, shit was impossible. Feels good to bring those memories back!

Same here. I'm glad it's getting a port on the switch
I play this on ZSNES (PC SNES emulator)
No tutorial, no explanation. Just throwing you in there without all that nonsense, kind of mirrors how you are when you are as a kid. Such a good game
I really love this game back in the days. I used to play this with my cousin. We never really finished the game because it's so hard in the later levels. It's a masterpiece game deserve a remake or remaster.
iceqube yea good times. 😪
There is now remake on nintendo switch (spoilers still same graphics)
A genuine classic that you can tell a whole lot of love and care went into every single element.
Watched this longplay over the past few days, great playtrough!
One of the top snes games of its time :)
This game gave me fucking nightmares. 'Till this day I can't beat the entire game
I think about 95 percent of people who played this game never did beat it.
I got about 50% done
ur thumb nail pic says it all man. :D
it was the best game ever
JD McNasty It was too dam long!!!
The pyramid levels were my favorite when I played this game. Very atmospheric-the mummies emerging from their tombs, the walls springing up behind you, etc. Plus the pyramid soundtrack is, in my opinion, the best in the game.
One of the best SNES games, they did not mess around on the difficulty, you earned it back in the day.
Gotta love the references and the respect this game pays to the classic universal monsters.
One of the most addictive games of all time. Concept was extremely simple but man did it work
I remember when I was little, my uncle bought me the SNES, and the games super mario world and this. that damn giant baby gave me nightmares when I was younger lol
Right I swear!!!!
i played the hell out this game for hours & hours trying to complete it but never did, yes i would love to play this game again.
Malcolm Woods i know right it was impossible
yup, fun game.
Tip try reducing time by sacrificing neighbours but leave 1 to reduce time in all stages (don't let the last one get killed or you lose)

Good on your for going back to beat it!
You are driving my OCD off the wall. You are not collecting all the things!
Plus, rescuing the cheerleaders gives you more points than rescuing the babies. Bullshit!
amazing how i can remember so many game soundtracks from early 90's days butnone from recent times.
this game was like the first game I ever played on a console
I managed to kill a chainsaw guy once though I don't know how hard it is to kill them if you know hat your doing
A fine choice sir
Just use 20 water pistol will do
After watching the whole thing, Nostalgia complete. Thank you sir for uploading this.
This is one brutal game! The last 7 levels are so hard. The soundtrack is great.
Someone in 2019? , i love this game
2020, i'm here too
2024 😬
👍
3 brothers together, over 14 years worth of time to try and beat it.
Succeed at failing and dying near the end at least 20 times out a few million.
Played this on its release back then. Never forgot the music or that terrifying giant baby. Can't remember if I ever finished it though..
This is one of my all-time favourite games to this day. Interestingly, though, it was simply called "Zombies" in the UK.
I think you meant Europe as since in Europe they give a crap so they changed the name and changed the chainsaw maniac name to crazy lumberjack
I just found out about UK censorship😳
Zombies ate my neighbors is a true classic I remember staying up late night eating snacks and playing this
A fantastic game - great gameplay, really challenging and an out of this world soundtrack: all my favourite things :D
Wow so nostalgic! It’s been like 20years since we played this with my sisters screaming like crazy 😂🤣 We couldn’t finish it though. We were only until Level 11!

Spent so much time playing this game. Those were the days man
I have literally been trying to think of this game for years cuz I played it when I was little. I am so relieved!! Hahaha
Heather Dvorak Indeed it is a truly underrated and underappreciated gem.
Heather Dvorak stays in your memories
This comment makes me ashamed when I think back on some of the games I can't remember
My favorite Batman theme and all around favorite snes and mega drive soundtrack!
Psychopathic madmen with chainsaws, killer dolls, this screams homages to Friday the 13th and Chucky!
Absolutely fantastic game, takes me back. Good old days
nostalgia overloaded
This is my fav game I played with my neighbour, it's so much fun!
you're neighbor was a zombie
Or a zombie ate him.
MetalSmasherGaming and hetothehaw lol
One of my favorite games. You' ve got great music; a ton of weapons; many different enemies types, each with it' s own weakness; a sense of humor; secrets - it' s perfect. Also: RickyC is really good at this.
thanks for this walk through. i just got the game for my sega and didnt realize all the cool hidden stuff. i dont know how many times i walked past the flamethrower and didnt realize it was there!
The answer to the zombie apocalypse was here this whole time: well placed trampolines
At last I was able to see the ending, thank you. I smiled when I saw the Purple Tentacle from "Day of the Tentacle" (another of my favorite games) doing a cameo here. :D
Played the demo for this at a Gamestop in Mall of America in the mid 90's. I was instantly hooked and bought it! The marketing worked, lol....
This is one of my favorite Super Nintendo games of all times.
This one was dynamite. I ve been playing it recently, and it' s extremely adictive, dynamic and funny. You just can' t stop playing!!
The giant baby always gets me laughing 😂 this game was a masterpiece xD
Shit spooked the heck outta me as a kid

this was an awesome game back In The day.
I accidentally left this game running all night and the sounds gave my sister nightmares for 3 weeks after.
So many memories... best game for SNES :)
One of my favorite, happy i still have my sega and this game to play whenever
Best ending ever. Just, "winner" lol
This game!!!!
Seeing it back now2018 it still looks fun, great musical score
I LOVED PLAYING THIS WITH MY DAD WHEN I WAS YOUNGER! Oh my god the memories... the chainsaw guy part always fucking terrified me lol
WOW... I USED TO PASS THE WHOLE NIGHT PLAYING WITH MY COUSIN... I WAS AFRAID AT THIS GAME AHAHAHA
Top 5 de nintendo era muy divertido y dificil
El 1 el mio del snes
I’m not a 90’s kid, but I do remember playing this on my dad’s sega genesis. It was my favorite game back then, I sucked so bad at it but it was fun, I really regret selling it.

I like this game for how it portrays every popular horror movie existed.
Still the most terrifying games I have ever played as a kid. That baby with the AXE. DX
I remember playing this game with slim shady lp blasting on the my radio
I used to get so excited hearing Eminem on the radio back then. I was 5 or 6
I like how you hurt yourself more on the cacti on one level than most of the monsters in the other levels xD
Top 10 soundtrack any console, any genre, any time period hands down.
I love the many secret bonuses that are implemented in the game, including in the first stage many players overlook in the bush at 0:52 - I also did not know the alien ship could be destroyed or throwing the football to the players was possible. I hope to play again and finally complete all 48 levels.
The alien ship is mostly destroyed by soda grenades
Throwback fareeal.. still haven't beat it -.-
Amanda Lira o.o
I was never able to beat it. It's the only game that has haunted at me because I left it unfinished. I was never able to kill the giant purple spider that keep me from the only cheerleader I had to save.

That happens sometimes.
Its like being a fit young warrior and then letting yourself go, and developing a big gut and wheezing when you run. Gotta keep your gaming skills sharp. Gotta exercise.
I would try getting bazooka ammo ASAP for the giant baby boss

Worm monsters (snakeoids) only need 3-4 bazooka ammo to kill
That last boss took all my supplies when i played this game sooo long time ago. Really hard game!
I use to play this game long time ago. When I was like 14. And I just order it right now to play it again. Can't wait.
my sister always played this game. I was so scared of it as a kid
me and my mother would sit n play this for hrs. child hood memories
Thanks for the video, this brings back memories of playing coop with my friends as a kid.
Here in 2021 because this was my game growing up ! And the new one is NO WERE as good as this one..
