Welcome to my favorite Saga (currently 😆), thrilled and excited to see your thoughts for the rest of these!!
I was definitely in the same boat with this being my favorite saga but holy smokes did the Thunder Saga just blow me away.
We are going to be in my favorite saga soon. But we still got Wisdom before that. Alshtough Wisdom’s gonna be CRAZy!
Very excited to keep progressing!!!😁🥳
Personally tied between this and Circe Saga, but that might just be because I'm incredibly gay for Circe.........
@@KalKreative Weird
0:30 "character absences happened" that's _one_ way how to describe it lol
As a very wise tumblr user once said;
“Screw you (pancakes your Polites)”
Personally, the "Stooo-ooo-o-o-orm" call and response really evokes the image of a ship rocking from side to side on the waves
Welcome to the "What Saga", you will enjoy a lot!
What?™ (Joke fully intended)
Jay posted a video abount how he made the harmonies for the ocean saga, each of the vocals is recorded individually before being laid over each other. the last time they say storm, its sounds different because he just added in the extra higher vocals that weren't in the other harmonies. mr jalapeno is a musical genius
By the time she even finishes the circe saga most the animatics for thunder will be out
At this point, we're really only waiting for song 22 and mutiny to have some banger animatics!
RIGHT!? I'm so excited for her to get to Suffering! and SCYLLA!
@@karutasilvernot even, mejiilustrates already made an amazing mutiny animatic
Who knows, maybe by that time the Wisdom saga could be already announced🤷♀️
Really it's just thunder bringer, there is one out but it's very inaccurate to what's actually happening
Hey just a heads up; though you probably know-
Sagas 1 and 2 have been redone!
New vocals and such
Do we really want to put her through the pain of losing polities 😢
@project_jay9640 Again* because she was not spared. No one was...
@project_jay9640 It's even worse in the remastered version of Survive.
Peter Barber started cyclops saga on the same day you started the ocean saga, I'm eating good today!
i followed both at the same time because of epic too
FRRRRR i'm following both at the same time lol
Oh man I can't wait for you to hear Ruthlessness, vocals there are insanely good!
And for animatic I'd suggest Gigi's!
Gigi's is great but I prefer Anniflama
@@Fpwc2 Agreed. AnniFlamma's take on it is just incredible.
I would second Gigi’s…
Gigi's is great, I love the face in it, but AnniFlamma's takes the cake for me. The depiction and dynamic flow of it is just so great.
So glad you picked up on the time signiture. Writing this in 7/8 was a stroke of genius!
I CANNOT wait for her reaction for a specific song 2 sagas from now
i am pretty sure this one is 7/4. jorge likes making fun time signatures when it comes to the ocean
That must be it! It works too well
It's in 7/8.
Great reactions as always! I love your perspective as a vocal coach. Your analysis always gives me more insight into the crazy vocals other than "oh that sounded impressive" :)
Thank you!
Thank you, Jenn, for inspiring me to listen more closely. You pointed out the time signature, and I began conducting to it as well as listening closely to the percussion. I think it starts in 6/8 for the flugelhorn, goes into 7/4 as the storm choir hits, Odysseus' pep talk is harder for me to figure out, almost like he's singing in 4/4 on top of the 6/8 flugelhorn with the pounding bass drum holding the two together. (This can work, I've played many songs that do precisely this; it's a pain in the bum for an orchestra but sounds awesome to the audience.) Then we're back to 7/4 for the storm, and it goes into 6/8 again with the "island in the sky," with the flugelhorn keeping that rolling up/down buried below while the flute soars above. Storm below, floating above. I never noticed all of this before, so thanks for keeping my ears open.
Thank you for your kindness!!! These are pretty heartwarming, hoping all is well these days 😊
For Ruthlessness I recomend mainly Anniflamma (which I ADORE),Gigi's is also nice and the most recent I found and think is AMAZING is from Tamatama's.👀 If possible I'd recomend watching all three.😅🥰😁 They are all amazingly done!!!🎉🥳🎆💕
Physics go hard in this one
I love the aesthetic in your videos! The colors of you and your background are so warm and comforting, something we all will need for Epic The Musical 😭
Ah thanks so much!
Note for the future: entering an OCEAN saga with a STORM is NOT a good sign.
7/8 time signitures which you correctly identified, often give songs a feeling of drive as the end of a bar into a new bar is a little hop so it fits the uneven feel of a storm and the enegy of the crew to get though it
Hi Jennifer hope you are having an great and awesome day ❤
Oh my god, i cant wait for you to listen to the other songs, especially Keep your Friends Close and Ruthlessness!! For animatics i would suggest Gigi's!
Seriously I’m so happy for you getting to hear my favorite first act song soon
When you reach Ruthlessness I highly recommend the animatic by Anniflama
OMG i literally cant wait for the rest!!!!!!
the time signature is 5/4. Jorge had such trouble and fun making it
Ah The What Saga
It is in fact in 7/8 time
I'm happy you enjoyed the first song so much! Ocean is still holding strong as my favorite saga and I love hearing and learning more about it
Its been so long 😭 I loved this so much
This song subtly includes Eurylochus is/has been starting to doubt Odysseus' leadership. (Made explicit in the next song)
Notice how all but 2 of Eurylochus' lines are him doubting/2nd guessing Odysseus
And while Ximena adds Eurylochus' nod at "Have them follow my ship" note that Eurylochus does NOT acknowledge Odysseus order in the song
imo, this & "Full Speed Ahead" are both under-rated/overshadowed by the other songs in the saga, but are very good
8:48 this is also used in one song of the thunder saga, suffering
Oh! Not quite fun fact but: Eurylochus in The Odyssey is a bit of a coward and rather unlikable. I may have accidentally called it the Iliad in earlier comments... not sure why... they are connected though and Horse and Infant is 100% during the Iliad, so oops.
YAY! MORE EPIC !!
New Geoff Castellucci cover.....western themed (you love cowboys...lol).. "Big Iron". Very epic theme here with Time for a storm.
If the schedule keeps up on 1 a week for these reactions then it will be over 2 months till act 2
"What is the time signature of this?" that is the point of the song lmao, but yes it's 7/8
⚠⚠⚠BIG Question, Will you going to be re-reacting the first two saga again because Jorge redone/enhance the vocals there. really appreciate your/you're feedback⚠⚠⚠
Tbh, i believe the song is in 5/4, but i very well could be wrong, its just the grouping rythem that really draws me into a 5/4 feel. 7/8 isnt a bad one either, no idea if Rivera has stated what its in
I think it's not 5/4 because I remember Jorge saying that Charibdis is his first 5/4 song
LOST HER IN THE RAIN REMASTERED (C)2006
Hi , im from indonesia , lets react LESTI KEJORA "Laksmana raja di laut"
Trust me its Amazing 🎉❤
The time signature sounds like 6/8 is layered over 4/4. But I’m no expert, so idk
I’m curious which animatic for Luck Runs Out you’re gonna react to. There isn’t really a good consensus on which one is the best.
Ah yes the song that suddenly exploded with tons of animatics for no reason I think most of the fandom is saying crashite's one is the best
@@omarsalem1219 I actually really don't vibe with Crashite's take on it. I'm personally a fan of the Vampiresi version!
Jen and Crashite both have good versions of Luck Runs Out.
This song gives me Aot vibes
