EXO is the only kpop group I've followed since their debut. not only because of the personalities of each member but because each one of them is very talented and handsome, and it is also the only group that has different musical styles and masters them all. long live exo!!

EXO debuted with 12 members in 2012 as 2 sub-units; EXO-K (sing in Korean-6 Korean members) & EXO-M (sing in Mandarin-2 Korean+4 Chinese Members). However, in 2014-2015, 3 Chinese members left the group for various reasons. So with only 9 members (8 Korean + 1 Chinese), they combined and became EXO. In late 2018, Lay, the only Chinese member left, could not perform with the group due to political tension between the 2 countries. So when you react to the MVs or live performances you will see different numbers of members due to injuries, members leaving, enlistment period, etc. EXO has a massive discography. Out of 9 members, the ones that already have solo albums are: Lay, Suho, Chen, Baekhyun, Kai, Doh Kyungsoo (D.O.) and Xiumin. However this year, probably very soon, Chanyeol will drop his first solo album. EXO also have 2 sub-units: EXO-SC (Sehun+Chanyeol - the rap line) and EXO-CBX (Chen+Baekhyun+Xiumin - the vocal line). EXO leader is Suho. Even though EXO have 3 amazing main vocalists (D.O., Chen & Baekhyun), the rest of the members are outstanding vocalists too.

Some other SM groups: NCT, Shinee, Aespa, Super Junior, Red Velvet, etc. You get the point. 😆 Other agencies neglect vocals, especially these days, for dancing and performance stages. You just scratched the surface of the EXOplanet. Your review is probably the best I have seen out of 5 or 6. I can really see the appreciation you have foe their individual voices but having them here to as one. No shade to the other kpop groups but EXO is one of the best. Their discography is insane. When you listen ro their B sides...wow they don't spare any songs they have. They own it! Its really fascinating to hear each and every voice but also having to really hear them harmoniously. They have one of the highest voices and lowest. Listen to them. They have solo albums, subunit albums and do theater, kovies and tv shows. They are brand ambassadors to luxury as well as some local brands from different countries. They have the vocal three (Chen in all white, D.O. in black jacket and white pants and Baekhyun in black blazer with white undershirt and denim pants). Baekhyun is dubbed as the genius idol. Watch him sing Bambi and Hurt (duet with Seomoontak). Chen probably has the best and purest voice. You say that uou ca really see his emotions when he sings. He sings great ballads. His rap is more than decent. He can do rock. Watch Drop That. D.O. is regarded the Kelly Clarkson of Korea. When he covers other artists' songs...he makes it his. The one with the highest tone is the eldest Xiumin in denin jacket and pants. Watch the song Papercuts Which they performed in Japan with him as one of the member of EXO-CBX subunit...wow! Their very loyal and very supportive leader Suho in white or flesh top with denim pants has an absolute beautiful voice! Chanyeol and Sehun both rappers (seen in opposite ends) are in a subunit EXO-SC. The Chanyeol is not only a rapper but has a very nice singing voice. Sehun (the guy whose hair you liked) has a very deep voice. When he sings duet in some parts of their songs with Chen...absolutely wow! It bring out that very sultry voice he has. Listen to Don't mess up my tempo. Kai is currently in the military. He is one of the best if not the best dancers in Kpop. He has a very deep voice but also has a very nice tone. Lay, their only Chinese member is currently doing a lot of solos. His voice and dancing to is absolutely superb! Three of them have established their own companies (Lay, Baekhyun and D.O.). They are in the records of the fastest concert ticket-selling group that sold out in a few seconds.

They debuted in 2012 with MAMA as their debut song. They used to have 2 units with 6 members each unit. Exo-K (Korean) and Exo-M (Chinese). This Killing Voice episode really brought me back to kpop. I was a big fan of them when they debuted. Just stopped because you know, life happens. The moment they sang their old songs especially "Miracles in December" again after so soo many years, it genuinely made me tear up. That was my fav song of them (of all time). Okay, so it's a little fact about EXO's music is that they have winter albums (not Christmas, because not all of them have that topic but are albums for winter season) the albums earnings go gifted to different places that needs it. Also EXO is the group of the winter in SK, the first snow was released during the first year of exo, one decade ago and still each years tops the #1 in the charts when the first snow falls in SK.

Yes, this Killing Voice performance, as the title indicates, is supposed to showcase EXO's outstanding vocals, so what you are hearing is a compilation of some of the best parts of their songs that highlight their vocal abilities. They debuted more than 12 years ago, so they have a lot of songs. You are only hearing a small fraction of them and only a few lines of each of the songs (And in some cases, they are singing lines from the middle of the song, so it may sound different when you listen to the actual song. Plus, in this performance they are missing two members, so some of their parts in these songs were different than the original versions because they had to cover for the members who were unable to participate in this program.) As you can see and hear, this is a LIVE performance with 100% live vocals. SM Entertainment -- which is the company that founded the Kpop industry and is one of the largest and most influential entertainment companies in Korea -- is known for having some of the best singers in Kpop. You can't be an SM artist without being an amazing singer. So even the company's rappers receive intense vocal training. (Just look at EXO's Chanyeol on the far left and Sehun on the far right, who are both main rappers, and, yet, they each have amazing singing voices. How often do you see rappers that can sing as well as them?) All of SM's rappers could even fill in as main vocalists in their groups. It was even one of the theme songs for the 2018 Winter Olympics. I mean it's one of the most covered songs by trainee groups and you can see and hear it being performed by people all over the place. "Growl" is the song that EXO are most known for. "Sing For You" came out in 2015 and it is literally, as the title says, EXO singing to EXO-Ls (EXO's fans). This song has an MV and it's all part of EXO's storyline. This song was released after 3 of their Chinese members left the group, so it's also a promise and apology song to EXO-Ls. As you just saw, "Miracles in December" is a song that is only sung by EXO's three main vocalists, Chen, Baekhyun and D.O. However, you will see all the EXO members in the MV because it tells another part of EXO's story. There is no MV for "The Eve" because it's a B-side track. However, it's the B-side song that they promoted with, along with their lead track "Ko Ko Bop," so they have a dance practice video for the song you will have to check out. "The Eve" is one of their most iconic songs and performances. EXO debuted in 2012 with their song "Mama." When you watch that MV and get to know EXO better, you will understand why D.O. was making jokes and they were all laughing when he introduced "Mama." EXO's debut and group concept is unlike anything you have ever seen before and "Mama" is one of the most epic debut songs and MVs ever created. This is the song and MV that explains EXO's entire storyline and concept. If you are ever going to understand anything about EXO you have to watch BOTH their EXO-K and EXO-M versions of their "Mama" MVs. "Overdose" is about overdosing on love like a drug and been trapped within a maze, so the sound of the song is supposed to be disorienting because you are supposed to feel like they are being brainwashed and unable to find their way out, etc. As the English lines in "Monster" say ... They're "Creeping, Creeping, Creeping .... Creeping in your heart babe" "You can call me Monster (because) I'm creeping in your heart babe." "She got me goin' crazy." The song's called "Monster," so the words are about acting like a monster: "Don't be afraid, love is the way ... I'm sorry, you make me sooo craaaazzzy, you know you dooooo." The song is about how they know they are bad for the person that they are in a relationship with, and they will most likely ruin them if that person stays with them. In the song, they are talking about how, I know that when we are over that I will have destroyed everything that is good about you, but I don't care because I want you so much that it doesn't matter to me. Therefore, it's good that "you can call me monster" because they are being straight forward and warning you from the very beginning, so you can't say you were blindsided by their actions. "The First Snow" is a B-side song on one of their winter albums (They have more than one winter/holiday album). The song is about the magic of the first snowfall of the season and how it's the perfect atmosphere to fall in love. This song is so popular that you can hear it being played all over the place in Korea on the first day it snows, and it's pretty much considered a winter anthem that gets played nonstop all season long, especially around the holidays. EXO's "Power" was also used as one of the theme songs, along with their song "Growl," during the 2018 winter Olympics. EXO even performed both songs during the closing ceremony. As "the nation's boy group," EXO was the only Kpop group to be selected to perform at the Olympics. If you like the sound of "Power" in this video, just wait until you see their live concert performance of the remixed version of the song. This was a really good way to start off the dive. I highly suggest, just to be easy, is react to MV's and Lives of all the songs on this list. MAMA from 2012 was their debut to answer your question of when they began. There were also 2 pre-debut MV's released (History and What is Love?) before MAMA MV. Be advised, in the beginning there were 12 members. Since then, 3 of the chinese members have left, leaving the nine members we have today. So over time, you will notice some MV's have more members and some less. Those MV's with less than 9 are because Lay is in China working on his solo career while tensions between China and Korea are high and other members have been doing their military service. So if you notice a face missing, do not be alarmed. EXO stays long in the industry because of their talents . Aside from singing, rapping and dancing they are all good actors too except from Chen our OST king but he also acts in EXO next door and some musical theatre same with chanyeol ,Suho, Baekhyun,Xiumin and D.O they also know how to play musical instruments specially chanyeol the jack of all traits not to mention they are degree holders too

I've waiting for this haha, now you know why we are so eager to recommend you this EXO killing voice. They aren't that popular in some western countries like other kpop groups but they deserve to be known around the world because of their incomparable talents. what's surprising about them is that they sound even better in live performance than records. Their rappers are also good singers, and yeah their voices are unique that you can easily guess when they're singing. And their harmony is crazy! BTW the one who's singing in low harmony was Sehun, that tall guy wearing a white T-shirt with a blue jacket. Another Highly recommended for you to watch is their Concert, MAMA, MONSTER + WOLF. It's crazy I promise you'll definitely love it!
Although a majority of South Koreans are Buddhist, there are a lot who are Christian -- Prodistent, Catholic, etc. However, even if you don't believe in the religious aspect of the holiday, most people still celebrate Christmas for its commercialization -- giving presents, decorating with lights, hosting parties, etc. So it's common to have Kpop songs where they sing about the holiday spirit and Christmas regardless of your religious beliefs.

You just scratched the surface of the EXOplanet. Your review is probably the best I have seen out of 5 or 6. I can really see the appreciation you have foe their individual voices but having them here to as one. No shade to the other kpop groups but EXO is one of the best. Their discography is insane. When you listen ro their B sides...wow they don't spare any songs they have. They own it! Its really fascinating to hear each and every voice but also having to really hear them harmoniously. They have one of the highest voices and lowest. Listen to them. They have solo albums, subunit albums and do theater, kovies and tv shows. They are brand ambassadors to luxury as well as some local brands from different countries. They have the vocal three (Chen in all white, D.O. in black jacket and white pants and Baekhyun in black blazer with white undershirt and denim pants). Baekhyun is dubbed as the genius idol. Watch him sing Bambi and Hurt (duet with Seomoontak). Chen probably has the best and purest voice. You say that uou ca really see his emotions when he sings. He sings great ballads. His rap is more than decent. He can do rock. Watch Drop That. D.O. is regarded the Kelly Clarkson of Korea. When he covers other artists' songs...he makes it his. The one with the highest tone is the eldest Xiumin in denin jacket and pants. Watch the song Papercuts Which they performed in Japan with him as one of the member of EXO-CBX subunit...wow! Their very loyal and very supportive leader Suho in white or flesh top with denim pants has an absolute beautiful voice! Chanyeol and Sehun both rappers (seen in opposite ends) are in a subunit EXO-SC. The Chanyeol is not only a rapper but has a very nice singing voice. Sehun (the guy whose hair you liked) has a very deep voice. When he sings duet in some parts of their songs with Chen...absolutely wow! It bring out that very sultry voice he has. Listen to Don't mess up my tempo. Kai is currently in the military. He is one of the best if not the best dancers in Kpop. He has a very deep voice but also has a very nice tone. Lay, their only Chinese member is currently doing a lot of solos. His voice and dancing to is absolutely superb! Three of them have established their own companies (Lay, Baekhyun and D.O.). They are in the records of the fastest concert ticket-selling group that sold out in a few seconds.

They debuted in 2012 with MAMA as their debut song. They used to have 2 units with 6 members each unit. Exo-K (Korean) and Exo-M (Chinese). This Killing Voice episode really brought me back to kpop. I was a big fan of them when they debuted. Just stopped because you know, life happens. The moment they sang their old songs especially "Miracles in December" again after so soo many years, it genuinely made me tear up. That was my fav song of them (of all time).

Okay, so it's a little fact about EXO's music is that they have winter albums (not Christmas, because not all of them have that topic but are albums for winter season) the albums earnings go gifted to different places that needs it. Also EXO is the group of the winter in SK, the first snow was released during the first year of exo, one decade ago and still each years tops the #1 in the charts when the first snow falls in SK.

Yes, this Killing Voice performance, as the title indicates, is supposed to showcase EXO's outstanding vocals, so what you are hearing is a compilation of some of the best parts of their songs that highlight their vocal abilities. They debuted more than 12 years ago, so they have a lot of songs. You are only hearing a small fraction of them and only a few lines of each of the songs (And in some cases, they are singing lines from the middle of the song, so it may sound different when you listen to the actual song. Plus, in this performance they are missing two members, so some of their parts in these songs were different than the original versions because they had to cover for the members who were unable to participate in this program.) As you can see and hear, this is a LIVE performance with 100% live vocals.
SM Entertainment -- which is the company that founded the Kpop industry and is one of the largest and most influential entertainment companies in Korea -- is known for having some of the best singers in Kpop. You can't be an SM artist without being an amazing singer. So even the company's rappers receive intense vocal training. (Just look at EXO's Chanyeol on the far left and Sehun on the far right, who are both main rappers, and, yet, they each have amazing singing voices. How often do you see rappers that can sing as well as them?) All of SM's rappers could even fill in as main vocalists in their groups. That is why the company has gained the reputation as the vocal powerhouse of the industry. And what you are hearing is why EXO are nicknamed "the vocal kings of Kpop".
Another thing SM's artists and groups are known for is for being top tier when it comes to live vocals and perfect harmonies. SM artists are recognized for the fact that they all can sing live while performing intense choreography for hours in concert and still sound flawless the whole time. The company is known for having artists and groups who sound even better live than they do on their studio recordings, so that's why you really need to watch SM's and EXO's concert performances, because the songs are on a whole other level when they are live.
EXO is currently a 9-member group, however, there are only 7 members in this performance. From left to right: Chanyeol (main rapper and lead vocal), D.O. (main vocal), Suho (leader and lead vocal), Chen (main vocal), Xiumin (lead vocal, sub-rapper, and dancer), Baekhyun (main vocal) and Sehun (main rapper and main dancer). The two members who are missing are: Kai (main dancer, lead vocal and sub-rapper), who is on hiatus right now because he joined the military May 2023, and will be away for the next 18 months; and Lay (main dancer, lead vocal and rapper), EXO's Chinese member, who is busy with solo activities in China.

"Growl" is sort of a love song, but it's not a love song in the traditional sense. It's definitely not mushy or sweet. If you look up the lyrics for "Growl," you will see they are pretty much acting like a wolf or beast that can no longer control themselves around the girl, and they are warning her to be careful because all she does is make them want to growl and grab her and possess her, etc. "I’m warning you just in case (listen carefully)

"Growl" is literally the song that skyrocketed EXO into superstardom and it's now considered one of Korea's national anthems, if you have been a part of Kpop for any amount of time you have to know this song because it's part of Kpop culture and it's used everywhere. It was even one of the theme songs for the 2018 Winter Olympics. I mean it's one of the most covered songs by trainee groups and you can see and hear it being performed by people all over the place. "Growl" is the song that EXO are most known for.
"Sing For You" came out in 2015 and it is literally, as the title says, EXO singing to EXO-Ls (EXO's fans). This song has an MV and it's all part of EXO's storyline. This song was released after 3 of their Chinese members left the group, so it's also a promise and apology song to EXO-Ls.
As you just saw, "Miracles in December" is a song that is only sung by EXO's three main vocalists, Chen, Baekhyun and D.O. However, you will see all the EXO members in the MV because it tells another part of EXO's story.
There is no MV for "The Eve" because it's a B-side track. However, it's the B-side song that they promoted with, along with their lead track "Ko Ko Bop," so they have a dance practice video for the song you will have to check out. "The Eve" is one of their most iconic songs and performances.
EXO debuted in 2012 with their song "Mama." When you watch that MV and get to know EXO better, you will understand why D.O. was making jokes and they were all laughing when he introduced "Mama." EXO's debut and group concept is unlike anything you have ever seen before and "Mama" is one of the most epic debut songs and MVs ever created. This is the song and MV that explains EXO's entire storyline and concept. If you are ever going to understand anything about EXO you have to watch BOTH their EXO-K and EXO-M versions of their "Mama" MVs.
"Overdose" is about overdosing on love like a drug and been trapped within a maze, so the sound of the song is supposed to be disorienting because you are supposed to feel like they are being brainwashed and unable to find their way out, etc.
As the English lines in "Monster" say ... They're "Creeping, Creeping, Creeping .... Creeping in your heart babe" "You can call me Monster (because) I'm creeping in your heart babe." "She got me goin' crazy." The song's called "Monster," so the words are about acting like a monster: "Don't be afraid, love is the way ... I'm sorry, you make me sooo craaaazzzy, you know you dooooo." The song is about how they know they are bad for the person that they are in a relationship with, and they will most likely ruin them if that person stays with them. In the song, they are talking about how, I know that when we are over that I will have destroyed everything that is good about you, but I don't care because I want you so much that it doesn't matter to me. Therefore, it's good that "you can call me monster" because they are being straight forward and warning you from the very beginning, so you can't say you were blindsided by their actions.
"The First Snow" is a B-side song on one of their winter albums (They have more than one winter/holiday album). The song is about the magic of the first snowfall of the season and how it's the perfect atmosphere to fall in love. This song is so popular that you can hear it being played all over the place in Korea on the first day it snows, and it's pretty much considered a winter anthem that gets played nonstop all season long, especially around the holidays.
EXO's "Power" was also used as one of the theme songs, along with their song "Growl," during the 2018 winter Olympics. EXO even performed both songs during the closing ceremony. As "the nation's boy group," EXO was the only Kpop group to be selected to perform at the Olympics. If you like the sound of "Power" in this video, just wait until you see their live concert performance of the remixed version of the song. You should check out their "Diamond" + "Coming Over" + "Run This" + "Drop That" + "Power" set at their EXOPLANET #4 The ElyXiOn in Seoul in 2017.

This was a really good way to start off the dive. I highly suggest, just to be easy, is react to MV's and Lives of all the songs on this list. MAMA from 2012 was their debut to answer your question of when they began. There were also 2 pre-debut MV's released (History and What is Love?) before MAMA MV. Be advised, in the beginning there were 12 members. Since then, 3 of the chinese members have left, leaving the nine members we have today. So over time, you will notice some MV's have more members and some less. Those MV's with less than 9 are because Lay is in China working on his solo career while tensions between China and Korea are high and other members have been doing their military service. So if you notice a face missing, do not be alarmed.

I've waiting for this haha, now you know why we are so eager to recommend you this EXO killing voice. They aren't that popular in some western countries like other kpop groups but they deserve to be known around the world because of their incomparable talents. what's surprising about them is that they sound even better in live performance than records. Their rappers are also good singers, and yeah their voices are unique that you can easily guess when they're singing. And their harmony is crazy! BTW the one who's singing in low harmony was Sehun, that tall guy wearing a white T-shirt with a blue jacket. Another Highly recommended for you to watch is their Concert, MAMA, MONSTER + WOLF. Although a majority of South Koreans are Buddhist, there are a lot who are Christian -- Prodistent, Catholic, etc. However, even if you don't believe in the religious aspect of the holiday, most people still celebrate Christmas for its commercialization -- giving presents, decorating with lights, hosting parties, etc. So it's common to have Kpop songs where they sing about the holiday spirit and Christmas regardless of your religious beliefs.
