@@lee2217 I had a golf gti mk2 in late 1980s, then got the 205 1.9gti. The 205 won hands down for performance and handling. The golf was well balanced and build was better but it was slow

Lovely to see all of Shawn/Sean/Shaun's (seriously, how many spellings of one name do we need?) cars and to hear the history behind them, and to meet Rocco, of course. I'm quite new to your channel, but was pulled in by the 308 story, and then of course, Pepé. Personally I think you should have replaced Pepé with an...MG ZS! But a real one, not the modern Chinese boxes.
What a great guy same age as me! The XK's my favourite, when I was 17 in 1990 my late Grandads 1968 Jaguar XJ6 2.8 manual was sold for £750! Wish I had it now as that's what made me a petrolhead!
Dads with Jags....had to sell my late dads XK coupe...not used enough and costing money and no where to keep it near my home in central London..definately a head over heart moment..so understand entirely the choice.
Same with me, dad had an XJ8 LWB. Had it from almost new. Polished it to death!!! For me, too big, nowhere to store and to be blunt a money pit. The real family thing was his cherished number plate. Been on all his cars since the 80’s. Years ago one of his neighbors asked ‘hey Al, home come all your cars have the same registration number’....my dad was a polite man. Your friend has done a nice job on 'Pepe " , good to see the little car has gone to a good home. Obviously a true " petrolhead" ,by his collection of other cars. If I may be permitted to express a preference, I was enthused by his Mk1 Mini Cooper. Love BMC Minis , takes me back to my own when I was 18 yrs old., So still have affections there despite being bias towards Italian cars, and the gent obviously feel the same as he bought the very same car back. Great family stories behind his cars.
What a nice guy and "pepe" was very well repaired. I made the mistake of trying to take off one of these wings when they first came out. They are bolted but ! The whole underside is completely filled with very strong sealer and by the time l got the wing off it was wrecked ! My daughter had the identical car in the nineties but it had the Mi 16 motor(?) with twin webbers. It was very quick but the gearbox and driveshafts struggled to cope. Thanks . That Alfa is sweet and rare.
Peole who say its not a classic, sure maybe not in years its more retro but in terms of impact to the motoring industry its a solid classic and perhaps the greatest hatchback and certainly one of the most significant innovators in the fast hatchback category.

I have a Noble M12 GTO and once you drive one you will want one be warned. It will eat away at you to own one once driven. They are fantastic cars that have slipped under most peoples radar.

People who say its not a classic well... anyway in my opinion its one of the top 3 90s classics with the escort RS turbo and R5 GT Turbo, yes the golf also and so on.
I wasn't expecting that! The sound of that Alfa! If someone backed in to my classic Alfa, and they were male, I would take a medieval approach to precious parts of his anatomy. I love the Peugeot as well. Even the basic 205 was a design icon, but the 1.9 GTi took that to a whole new level. Another great sounding car, and arguably the ultimate hot hatch 😃
I had a beautiful 2002 4.0 ltr XKR soft top. Red with black upholstery. Absolutely beautiful, adaptive suspension, 380 bhp so yes a stunning GT not something that feels like it was driving on square wheels and such tremendous value. One of Jaguar's great underrated cars.

The mans done well with the pug....but the Noble, now that's what I call a super car that's going to keep going up in value. The mini is also a car that'll keep going up so all in , including the Pug and the Jaaaaag, he's got a dream garage going on there. I'd like to see your Alfa some more though as with a few tweeks it could be an amazing car.

With that quote, its quite obvious he knew the right people and the right connections to get it sorted, and if he had to sort new parts, it probably would have cost 3 grand to get it done right, like you definitely sold it to the right person, and that's funny with that handbrake, i would have thought it was the opposite with how that ended up, that having the handbrake off would have made it worse. although on the plus side, now you've got a red car that wont blend in like that one did.
you were lucky you got some one to buy your crunched up car, you made a hit with the dog but it looked at its owner to make sure it was allowed to be fussed by you, I loved your video, thankyou.
Glad to see the 205 repaired and with a new owner that really cares about his cars. All's well that ends well. I just don't feel the same love for that GTA. If you could take the engine out and put it in a car with a decent chassis and suspension then you would be in business. Not sure about the PJ look.

I actually owned one in 1974, mint, Apple Green , with Minilites wheels I added, Pirellis (rare at the times). I had to sell it after only 9 months to go to college. The good ones now are ridiculously expensive... Oh well.
Your alfa does sound lovely and was the best of the 3 you shortlisted Jack, but Pepe (& rem my dad's identically engined Zx Volcane) in my eyes would leave the Alfa for dead on a twisty road in my opinion. Sean's cars are lovely and I suppose re the pepe it's the best solution bar owning him. Roco is lovely too! Looking forward to hearing the mondeo engined Noble going as these cars are tvr fast. Had a mini too, so soft spot there too. I think once alfa has broken down one too many times you should go French again, I'd like to say Zx!, or another pepe but how bout a more modern pug like a 306, Renault clio or megane or my fave a C6?!!!! He did right to keep the original wing. Pattern parts are inferior metal and in my experience with a Mk1 Golf, no matter how well you paint or treat them they seem to rust from within worse than the ancient original ones. And that's if you get them to align nicely without noticeably big panel gaps.
You have definitely got to meet up with this guy next summer to do the A4069 with your weapons of choice,would make awesome Vid and that Alfa sounds fantastic!
Always had a very soft spot for noble cars ,theirs just something about them , unfortunately they like everything else have all gone up in value , so will have to wait a little longer before I can have one. M600 is a bit of a dream car of mine.
@@Number27 I remember seeing a accident repaired one with head gasket problems for £8000, but I had a lancia delta Intergrale at the time, and no way could I afford both, sold the lancia for £12000 not long after haha ,what's that worth now ?. Been buying and selling cars since the late 80s, and luckily enough I've had most cars at one time or another, not always the best examples but always priced accordingly, in fact some just out and out bad condition, but happy to have owned them , for instance a Porsche 911 , brush painted haha ,but drove well £2700 at a public auction ,nobody else wanted the poor thing, a Sierra cosworth 3 door on dutch plates very tatty but also ran well £2500, happy times, anyway love the channel keep it up.

It's getting a bit ridiculous, isn't it? Like putting the 20mm spacers back on even touches the handling when you've got tyres like that!
No tyres were changes some time ago.. soon after spacers. Sadly they have not had much impact on handling.. update video out soon!

That is a classic car end of. I hit an electrical sub station at 110 mph in 205 gti ( passenger in back) . Also survived. Which was nice

All four lights on the front seem to need some tweaking to fit better, especially the left headlight. Otherwise nice fix!

Always had a very soft spot for noble cars ,theirs just something about them , unfortunately they like everything else have all gone up in value , so will have to wait a little longer before I can have one. M600 is a bit of a dream car of mine.

@@Number27 I remember seeing a accident repaired one with head gasket problems for £8000, but I had a lancia delta Intergrale at the time, and no way could I afford both, sold the lancia for £12000 not long after haha ,what's that worth now ?. Been buying and selling cars since the late 80s, and luckily enough I've had most cars at one time or another, not always the best examples but always priced accordingly, in fact some just out and out bad condition, but happy to have owned them , for instance a Porsche 911 , brush painted haha ,but drove well £2700 at a public auction ,nobody else wanted the poor thing, a Sierra cosworth 3 door on dutch plates very tatty but also ran well £2500, happy times, anyway love the channel keep it up.

Not yet!! But the fix is simple and requires bypassing the fuse box..
