Man.. seeing this video always gives me an emotional breakdown. In 1994 I was 14 years old. I remember I was talking on the phone with my friend one evening, and we were both watching MTV. Suddenly this video came on. A minute later I felt like my world had changed. I was suddenly enamored with Bjork. I was mostly a top-40 kinda dude up until that point, but her music unlocked a whole universe of music I had never experienced. Her beauty, innocence, and creative brilliance was so captivating. I feel such sadness that I couldn't somehow meet her back then or even see her in concert. But I'm so thankful for all the memories I have of experiencing her music. It's one of those situations where I can't listen to those songs very often because it's too much raw emotion and nostalgia.

Yeah, me too. She and I are the same age. I’ve never heard anything quite like her. My husband asked if she was the Icelandic Alanis Morrisette, and I said, “Absolutely not.”
This was the very first glimpse of Bjork to me. Being 13 and watching clips of this very interesting human being on MTV when there were videos on regularly. I watched or taped 120 minutes every Sunday night around midnight to find other artists like Bjork. I walked to the “cd store” to buy this Debut album and just played on repeat. I became a super fan and started collecting Sugarcubes albums, import singles, box sets and buying double copies to keep sealed which I still have. I’m not a huge fan of Bjork’s newer works but I respect this woman for every creative thing she has brought to the music industry.
Amazon Music just suggested this song to me and I was immediately reminded of the video age not thinking of it for years. The song and the video are so deeply connected for me. It may be that this was getting more play on Much Music (Canadian MTV) than on local radio where I lived.

Very good description, she's a great singer from what ever point of view you want to look at it but the artistic choices she makes with her Voice is what makes it stand out. I honestly get frustrated with people who believe songs should only be sung in a singular straightforward manner.
I once nearly died listening to this , feeling relaxed hearing it as my car rolled into a tree and stopped and sat listening to the end as the ambulance arrived
Omg, after 25 years I finally found this video. I have seen this video back in the 90s on mtv when I was five years old and it has scared me. Specially the bear and the moth. I even had nightmares from this video. The memory of this video stuck about 25years in my head and I think it’s curious how we see things as a child and how we see things as an adult.
My thoughts exactly. I have an acute fear of Moths and I link it back to seeing this video. It's an actual thing called Mottephobia. The bear scared the shit out of me too. Also Pink Floyd's the Wall with the kids wearing the paper mache masks. Cheers dad.
I get frustrated when people say they don't like this phenomenal artist. Can't they hear the mastery in her voice and the brilliance of her lyrics? She's a musical genius
I know hey?! She is a musical genius and a unique & gifted musical artist. When i visited Iceland many years ago now, i wanted to see her perform live in Reykjavic's Hall Harpa, but unfortunately i came down ill with an upset stomach & was unable to buy tickets to her concert. I saw her on stage in Australia & it was a pretty awesome show! She's really something else! Take care.
Yes. They aren't listening to the lyrics. There is something slightly "off" about the melody in comparison to the pitch in her voice. It's like it should be beautiful and in tune together, but it's what she is saying about human behavior itself. It's almost too rough or base. It's hard to explain but I understand what you are saying!
1:54 Sooooooo freaking adorable right here lol. I have always known about Björk but never actually listened to her music until this month. I feel like an idiot for turning a blind ear for 34 years. I absolutely can't get enough of her music/voice/personality/smile/intellect/etc/etc/etc/etc : )
I got addicted about 3 years ago. I don't even remember her being a thing in the 90s. My first song was Wonderlust, I found it when I was going through some random poet's TH-cam channel out of curiosity. She expressed the love energy field, piece of consciousness into this reality. She seems otherworldly.
Bjork sounds like she is casting an ancient Icelandic spell in the middle of a deserted forest or mountain top when she sings. I was a massive Sugarcubes fan but I'm glad this song ripped her into mainstream consciousness forevermore.
Yep. Love her too.. but can we say Patrimony..Or Matrimony anymore without being attacked?!?! Kinda' proves her point.#HumanBehaviour #DefinitelyDefinateltyDefinatelyNoLogic
Die lieblichste Stimme die dieser Planet je hervor gebracht hat! Diese Stimmer verzaubert mich immer wieder aufs neue, ich glaube ich bin etwas in Björk verliebt, schon sehr sehr lange! ❤️🩹😁
This was probably the high point of music video production. A perfect visual accompaniment to an incredible song, which also captured one of the most unique female artists of her time at her peak.
The first time I heard this song I fell in love with Bjork that instant. I went on to buy all the albums that were made. My CD collection is into the thousands and I still pick out my Bjork CD's before many of the others I own. I love her voice.
I think the reason why this song has always been one of my favorite björk songs is that it speaks to me. I love studying human behavior and the more I seek to understand it, the more I become confused. Often times I feel like an alien looking at human behaviors from the outside. Thank You Björk!
I remember as a kid I first heard this song on Bevis and Butthead. Didn't think much of it until recently. Looked it up after all these years and it's an amazing song.

The moment i, and apparently many of us fell in love with Björk''s talent and unique sound and visuals. Like everyone else i knew about MTV and its impact but i didn't have cable TV until like the mid 90's. l was introduced to her through a local TV show that aired on thursday nights. My 14 year old self was blown away by her, and in my 40's that hasn't changed lol

Ever since I first heard her I was smitten by her voice and totally oddity of being. I’m 59 now and still think she’s one of the most underrated artists ever.. seriously one of the greatest artist ❤
This is such an amazing song but something needs to be said for her acting in the video. She conveys emotion so convincingly, something she also does very well with her singing. It all adds depth to the song.
Leif Ereicson is pretty famous. I think its awesome that a country with the population of the city I'm in: Huntsville, Alabama could beat England in the 2016 Euros. Thats like a 1 to 150 population ratio.

Remember when this came out in 93 living in Wisconsin listening to UW whitewater college rock when they played this best song I had heard in a long time.
Electrifying, engaging, enchanting & perfect. Who else would give almost anything to go back to this epoch-making magical time when MTV was still the #1 social unifier as they played these things called music videos from every genre of pop which brought us together as we multiplied our yields of feat? And Bjork: Amazing.

But, oh, to get involved in the exchange
Of human emotions
Is ever so, ever so satisfying
[Gibberish]
[Refrain]
And there is no map
[Gibberish]
[Chorus]
Human behaviour, human, human
Human behaviour, human, human
Human behaviour
Human behaviour, human, human
[Refrain]
And there is no map
And a compass wouldn't help at all
[Gibberish]
[Chorus]
Human behaviour, human, human
Human behaviour, human
Human behaviour, human, human
Human behaviour, human, human
There's definitely, definitely, definitely no logic
Human behaviour, human
Human behaviour, human
Human behaviour, human
[Outro]
There's definitely, definitely, definitely no logic
Human
Human

Michel Gondry was such a genius when it came to music videos. Especially the ones he did with fellow genius Bjork.
His movie "The Science of Sleep" is just as beautiful.
He has 2 actually
Side note: this video pays homage to another genius, Soviet animation master Yuri Norstein. By taking some of its motifs (hedgehog, bear, starry evening sky, falling into water) from his 1975 film Hedgehog in the Fog.

I don't know how i spent 26 years of my life without listening to her. My goodness, what an artist.
Yeah, me too. She and I are the same age. I’ve never heard anything quite like her. My husband asked if she was the Icelandic Alanis Morrisette, and I said, “Absolutely not.”
Welcome...
Back when the video clip was as important as the song, sadly it's no longer like that
I didn't remember the melody , but the bear from the video got stuck in my memory. Today , on a whim , I searched "Bjork bear" and here I am.
Amazon Music just suggested this song to me and I was immediately reminded of the video age not thinking of it for years. The song and the video are so deeply connected for me. It may be that this was getting more play on Much Music (Canadian MTV) than on local radio where I lived.
bruh i was literally just on everlong and you commented there too XD
yeah? or maybe you are just not looking my guy
@@attilamurvai3108 I don't think the video was ever as important as the song. Maybe in some cases like Freak on a Leash? They're more just entertaining commercials
Man, I love her voice. so unique. It's like this beautifully controlled chaos. Her phrasing is otherworldly.
Greetings Beautiful soul! (forgive me abit i know I am not exactly what you may have come here for ..) but my name is Ibn Orator...I am an Avant-Garde, introspective & Political Hip Hop Artist from New Haven CT. (Please leave a comment there underneath the video and not here) as i would like for my listeners to feel welcomed to give more in thought towards those uncomfortable conversations than in clout, which is what my subject matter is based on ..."Commentary on our shared world".In hopes that this may be fruitful to you i look forward to your response

P.S. Im aware that for some us, if not all, had a hard time in 2020, which will have it’s residual effects despite it’s end, ..so id like to say that i love you very much, if you haven't heard it from anyone, and that things are about to change as they always do, for better or worse #Godspeed.
What illogical human behavior 😋
Scott MacQuarrie Lol, I got into a car accident as well last year while I was vibing to Bjork. It was the Telegram album though.
Human behaviour
When I fell asleep at the wheel and hit a tree, the music stopped playing...
Но голос божественный, желаю всем богам, божкам, избранным слушать такое пение акапеллу с утра до утра
Cheers dad.
Do you like the song now? I bet you do
Exactly the same for me, i was beginning to think I'd imagined it completely.
I had similarly hard reaction on the black hole sun video which I also identified only later
Hell yeah. I'm still looking for my thing.
Either you get it of not, i didn't at a young age but now i do
She's my all time favourite woman artist besides Alanis Morissette
All her songs suck.
Early 90's listening to KROQ (Los Angeles) at work, they played 'Hit' by Sugarcubes and I was hooked on her voice.
Better late than never.
(a deaf ear, lol) I hear you, I liked her the first time I heard this. :)
Dude me too. I knew of her and even had a cd of hers but I wasn’t ready for it ha.
Bjork sounds like she is casting an ancient Icelandic spell in the middle of a deserted forest or mountain top when she sings. I was a massive Sugarcubes fan but I'm glad this song ripped her into mainstream consciousness forevermore.
Her vocals are amazing in this song. Weirdly enough makes me think of soft yodeling in some parts. Stunning.
Because it's yodeling.
And Dolores O'Riordan also yodeled on the Cranberries’ records.
Bjork’s voice must be consider a cultural patrimony of humanity
Yep. Love her too.. but can we say Patrimony..Or Matrimony anymore without being attacked?!?!
Kinda' proves her point.#HumanBehaviour #DefinitelyDefinateltyDefinatelyNoLogic
For sure ❤
Kiss you
ela realmente é especial
its a stupid and agly voice! :D
I miss the 80s and 90s cinematography. the lighting, the fashion, the editing, everything
I still remember seeing this music video for the first time when it hit the charts. Björk was the most unique artist on the scene, no contest.
This woman's voice still melts me after all of these years.
Die lieblichste Stimme die dieser Planet je hervor gebracht hat! Diese Stimmer verzaubert mich immer wieder aufs neue, ich glaube ich bin etwas in Björk verliebt, schon sehr sehr lange! ❤️🩹😁
Definitely one of the most important artists of the last 100 years. So uniquely creative. Basically, anything she does is great.
She's one of my favorite artists and the reason being is her style along with the engineering throughout Bjork's amazing career.
This was probably the high point of music video production. A perfect visual accompaniment to an incredible song, which also captured one of the most unique female artists of her time at her peak.
Captured lightening in a bottle
I don't think there's another video that so perfectly compliments the vibe of its song.
She was way, way better in the Sugar Cubes. Almost all of their stuff was good, While almost of her solo work ( all except two songs) sucked.
@@davidrule1335 disagree soo much
We need a dvd of all her videos !!!
Very artistic, creative, iconic! She's one of the most talented in the music industry. How the heck Grammy never gave her a win? It's a shame.
What a girl, what a music, what an art, what a time.
what
everything will not be the same ever again unfortunately.. it was like another world. a beautiful one.
The first time I heard this song I fell in love with Bjork that instant. I went on to buy all the albums that were made. My CD collection is into the thousands and I still pick out my Bjork CD's before many of the others I own. I love her voice.
Same here... Got all her albums... Fell in love with Björk in the 90's. Mostly love 80's Metal, but her voice just got to me =)
Best Video Ever! And the Song! LOVE
Really can't say enough. First time I saw it on MTV it like the best thing ever!
L😂l just said the same thing to another comment good shit
Same exact situation here😅
This girl so freakin cool. I love her creativity, it's so unique.
Agree, nobody quite like her. She’s one of a kind 😀🙌😍
Same it's so lovely and smooth.
How many insanely boundary breaking albums were made in thr 90's alone?
Staggering,truly.
I was just watching a video about Björk ( worst to best album) and suddenly got this notification. Oh so satisfying!
Her music is so unique.
It really grows on the soul.
1993 was full of great, new and diversified music. It was fantastic.
When MTV blast your mind with quality. Those where the days. Bjørk was and still will be such a great memory. Just love her craziness and incredible musical skills.

One of my favorite videos of all time
30 years today.
Still perfect...
Her Album "Debut" is still with me, allways She's proved what she is. Human...
Direct quotes from "Hedgehog in the Fog" (1975 Soviet animated film directed by Yuri Norstein)
This is one of my favorite music videos ever, every time it came on Mtv I had to watch.
One of the most memorable videos of 90's. And the music of 21 century, after almost 30 years since creation.
This song doesnt sound like it belongs in 1993..truly timeless
Björk and Gondry, what a combo. I'm still in love with this at 40 as I was at 15.
And there's still definitely no logic, that hasn't changed.
Aside from this song being a masterpiece, this has to be the best artistic music video matching the sound I have ever had the pleasure of viewing.
Michel Gondry is brilliant, Björk is brilliant. the two of them together on this piece was ❤️
The moment i, and apparently many of us fell in love with Björk''s talent and unique sound and visuals. Like everyone else i knew about MTV and its impact but i didn't have cable TV until like the mid 90's. l was introduced to her through a local TV show that aired on thursday nights. My 14 year old self was blown away by her, and in my 40's that hasn't changed lol
The voice patterning in this song is still intense.
Absolutely brilliant! She is amazing! I miss the 90’s.
Ever since I first heard her I was smitten by her voice and totally oddity of being. I’m 59 now and still think she’s one of the most underrated artists ever.. seriously one of the greatest artist ❤
Iconic
Thanks queen
Björk has been in the background of my entire life. God I love her. She has hero status in my heart.
This is such an amazing song but something needs to be said for her acting in the video. She conveys emotion so convincingly, something she also does very well with her singing. It all adds depth to the song.
She's an actress too
Watch "Dancer in the dark" by Lars Von Trier. Bjork's acting is AMAZING. It breaks your heart from the first few minutes she's on screen.
Este lo veíamos con mi hermana todos los días en MTV en 1995. Army of me también! Buenas épocas! ^_^
I never did the Bjork thing as a teenager....Now I have a different perspective. Can't get enough now. I really appreciate the creativity.
The most talented person from Iceland in the history of the world.
From the universe...Better to say..
Enya and Björk.
She is pretty much the first person people around the world think of when they think of someone from Iceland!
Leif Ereicson is pretty famous. I think its awesome that a country with the population of the city I'm in: Huntsville, Alabama could beat England in the 2016 Euros. Thats like a 1 to 150 population ratio.
Sigur ros is good
What an astounding video.
A thousand genius and wonderfully strange ideas: I couldn't have thought of one.
A true artist. Unique in her lyrical poetry. videography, choreography, composition, musical arrangement, and singing. Yes a true artist. So few of them around these days.
Remember when this came out in 93 living in Wisconsin listening to UW whitewater college rock when they played this best song I had heard in a long time.
Nice christmas present!
my favorite christmas song
I saw This on tv when i was 13 Loved it Back then. Love it now age 42. Hope Björk doing Well.
Finally a reupload of this!
Greetings from Portugal...i knew the sugarcubes and then bjork...what i can say? Everybody know she IS a genius, maybe the BEST female voice in the history...she IS a Superstar.
Tato Islanďanka mě příjemně překvapila. Její písničky se mně líbí...👍
This song never gets old to me
I love this song, her vocals,, emotions and the instrumentation are out of this world 🌎 ❤
The song that introduced me to her💜
She and Prince are seriously Soo talented..... Got all her albums
Gracias por tanto genia!!!
The video is so good 💓🐻
When I was in the 5th grade I was in a local kids production of an adaptation of dr. Seuss’ the sneeches and my director made our opening scene choreographed to this song and I still think that is one of the most important musical discovery moments for me (the show also closed to playing praise you by fatboy slim I remember going home after the last show to open up GarageBand on my sisters school laptop because I knew I wanted to make music after that )
Wonderful! Bjork is her own. Her singing style and more.
Deep stuff, visually, song and lyrics. Incroyable artistique. Otherworldly voice.
Holy snap. After all these years, I just realized that she's the hedgehog. Speaking of which, I love 💕 hedgehogs.🦔 😍
