I received my stack yesterday, love it, I’ve cooked all sorts with it the protein goes on the top the veg go in the bottom on the crisper trays, you have placed the rack upside down, I’ve been air frying for three years now and love to experiment, redundant oven, I use it for stacking pans in. but getting the new stacker it’s lovely , I cooked a full meal last night chips, cheese burger and veg and it was lovely, off to do breakfast now egg on toasted bread
As someone new to these is the crispy tray meant to be placed at the bottom so the draw doesn't get crumbs from fish or the like or is it meant to go in the middle of two different things to separate them. Also is it possible to put things in flour different amounts of time as it doesn't seem to run the other tray unless you put them both for the same time. @@iriswoodhead6132
Thank you so much, such a clear comparison. I wanted to purchase an air fryer and this has confirmed which one I want to buy. I’m going for the dual drawer!
Oh my goodness, thank you so much for this video! I really wanted to order the double stack, but now I see that it actually wouldn't fit in my kitchen because it's so deep, and it vents from the side. I wouldn't have known this so thank you again.
I have the dual zone side by side, upon first seeing the stack I thought OMG I want it, but after seeing a couple videos I think I'll stick to my trusty dual zone.
Thanks so much, decision made. I ordered dual and it arrived yesterday, I had a wobble this morning when realising I didn’t pay much attention to the newer slimmer model but phew I can now confidently open my big brown box containing the trusty dual ! 😄
Today I bought the Stack to replace my AF300 which I’ve had for over two years. Unfortunately I don’t have enough space for the larger dual. I’ve done a quick test on the Stack and I think it will be fine for my needs the only thing I’m not happy about is the cleaning aspect but I’ll get use to it hopefully. Thanks for the great review.
Hi, I have only just found your channel today. I was interested in the stacking Ninja, but after your brilliantly thorough comparison of the two machines I won't bother. I already own a cheaper twin basket air fryer but liked the idea of the smalller footprint of the stacking Ninja. But after seeing your comparison, there is so much about it I don't like. So a BIG thank you (hubby will thank you too as he's getting fed up with me buying kitchen gagets 😂) Anyway, I was so impressed by your thoroughvand honest review that I am now a new subscriber. TFS ❤
Thanks for your review. I too have both models like you, however I agree with you on the crisper plates but on consulting the enclosed manual (page 12) the crisper plates go in the drawer with the cut out notches towards the handle, however it also states if you want to raise the crisper plate then you need to turn the plate 180 degrees so it sits on the built in notches of the basket this may solve your hash brown dilemma. I too tested mine last night with onion rings that just sat low on the crisper plate and they took forever to cook, double the time in my dual zone. I also believe the new double stack has better options in that you can add cooking time when in use and also stop a cooking time on one of the baskets should something cook quicker. the cool down after cooking is a great idea.
Excellent review, I have just started to look around for one myself, and you have inadvertantly highlighted possible issues to look for from all brands when shopping for one. Well done
Great comparison - looking to buy my first air fryer, i was loving the look and space saving element of the Ninja Stack and was going to get it, however after seeing your video. I can now see the practical use of the Ninja Dual compared to the Stack.
We've had our Ninja AF400 dual for a out one year and absolutely love it as it cuts down a lot of our large double oven use and so fast and simple to use, clean etc. My wife was pointing out the new stacked model but after seeing this review, we'll stick with the dual.
A big problem with the stack is that if you want to put something like a curry (wet ingredients) in the drawer without the crisper tray, the holes in the back prevent it. The fact that you can use the drawers as a ‘pan’ in the dual which has no holes is a clincher for me. I know you could use a silicone liner, but that will reduce the capacity considerably and inhibit the air intake at the back, and make it more difficult to empty.
I’ve been using this for several days. I still have my dual but I prefer the stack to the dual. Having a small kitchen, it saves so much space. I’ve cooked a variety of things in it and so far so good. Being able to cook a whole meal is a definite time saver. I find cleaning it a breeze. So far I’m loving it.
Same! I just got stack as gift from my partner! We have a small kitchen and it just fits perfectly. I am bit worried about that heater is in back and not on top so food won’t be as crispy
@@patty5742 yesterday I cooked Sunday dinner. Did the chicken in zone 1 and when cooked, took out the crisper tray and added my roasties and stuffing. Zone 2 I did roasted veg. My husband loved it. Potatoes were crispy, chicken had crispy skin and the veggies were lovely ☺️
I just found you today, but you make such great, helpful reviews! From the smallest details like keeping the measurements on the screen to thorough testing, it really is the type of review I'd want to figure out what to buy. I like things a bit more crispy and I think that thing with the drawer handle above when you can't even pull it all the way out on a standard benchtop would probably drive me nuts.
Thank you so much! I really appreciate that. Yes you are right the handle is proving a bit of a problem. I’m using both air fryers at the moment to do another review soon and it’s definitely on the list of things I’m not so keen on!!
You have the stacker grill shelf upside down that why it’s difficult to put them in. I’ve been using mine for about 3 weeks now & i find it easy to use. Just got to get used to the timing (cooking quicker then I thought) the double stack pro stops the under cooking. Also agree with the noise. It seems very loud
Thanks for the comment. The beauty of doing my first demo and talk. Makes you wonder why they didn’t make them reversible. Really wanted to like this, but for £270 and all its faults, it’s going back.
We’ve had the 9.5 double for 3 years. Bought from QVC when first released for £165. Ab Fab machine used probably 5 days a week. Just bought my daughter the new single drawer ninja with separator in the middle for under £200 direct from ninja 😊
Just a small point to note from your video, volume DOUBLES every 3dB as the decibel scale is logarithmic. So your 6dB sound difference means it is 4 times louder, big difference!
Great job on this video - I found it so useful. Thank you so much. I was going to go for stacked but your hash brown test sealed the deal for me to go for the dual version
Thanks a lot for the review. Just wanted to mention a couple of things that I've learnt from other reviews: - The grill tray should be inserted with the handles on top so maybe it would fit better like that - And the silicone bits do come off
Right cancelled the order for the double stack and ordered the side by side one. Great review explains all the issues and added to the uneven cooking and the inconveniences of holes at the back it’s an easy decision
I think because you’re use to the one you have is why you favor it, I have the US version of the stack, it’s as simple to use as learning any other machine. I have no issues with mine of uneven cooking. Buy what fits your space. It takes a minute to get use to the design.
Great review thank you, glad I found it. We’ve currently got a Cosori but it might be heading off to Uni in September and I’ve always fancied a double drawer but we lack space. I thought the stack might be the answer but actually as our Airfryer sits on narrower section of work space it wouldn’t fit. Might take a more in-depth look at the Dual.
You have those grates on the double stack upside down. The bars are supposed to go up for handles. There are tabs on the side that hold the grate up, you don't need to use the bars down.
I mean if I buy for my dual a Meal Rack, I could also put veggies below and meat above the rack. Or am I wrong? I do the same in my regular oven since 2013😂 and it’s always been great
Try putting the internal racks on the ninja double stack the other way up as they are designed to be used as handles for lifting out so you can get to the bottom layer if needed.
Thank you for the well made, honest informative video. Seeing you replace the grill plate and mentioning the silicon bumpers. Reminded me of the tower air fryer I had to send back because they break off. Could you tell me if you've had the same problems with any of the machines that you use, as I'm looking to upgrade to a new machine. Thank you in advance for your reply. x
Thank you! I’ve not had any problems with the bumpers breaking off on the Ninja Dual or Flexdrawer. Ninja are also very good if you have any problems and will replace parts very quickly. Hope this helps. Enjoy your new machine. If you are able please use the links in my description, I get a small commission. 😀
Hi, My Stack seems to cook things to the front more. I wondered if you've noticed the same. You're hashbrowns test looked quite evenly cooked. BTW, I loved this comparison video particularly the detail like the problem with the depth. It was a really intelligent review. Thank you.
Yes, I thought I was perhaps being overly fussy. I'm going to send it back as I'm not sure it's fit for purpose. It's disappointing as this problem MUST have come out in tests. Thanks for your updated video.
I love my 3 year old Duel it never lets me down. I was thinking of buying the Double Stack but due to it being so tall it won't fit under my wall cuboard.
The crisper plate has a cut out slot, which if rotate the plate around allows the plate to sit in a high position for cooking....so you need to be aware of that as it will be more difficult to slide it to the base if you have the plate wrong way round.
At 8.58....The Dual (with the heating element at the top) cooks the top of the hash browns more than the Stack (with the heating element at the back) because the top heating element in the Dual radiates heat on to the top of the hash browns. So in the Dual the cooking is done by blowing hot air around the food AND by grilling it...and in the Stack it is only done by blowing hot air around the food.
Hi fulloffood. Thank you for the brilliant review. I am looking at the ninja dual but have seen "Swan SD10519G Retro Dual Basket" air fryer and was wondering if you have seen this one and if you have... which one would you choose between? Swan or ninja. Thank you
Thank you so much for your comment. Have a look at the ninja air fryer AF100UK it’s great for one person. I’ve done an unboxing video on it so you can see what like looks like.
Thank you for this. Im going to stay with my Nija 10 in 1, which has the flexibility of converting into one huge drawer, thats handy for cooking a 2kg of lamb, or mass cooking.❤
Good comparison video. I've just bought the stack, it's my first ever airfryer due to space restrictions. I don't find the food cooks very evenly and find myself swapping it around constantly. Is this a common thing with airfryers? The crispers only go 1 way, look at the rubber bits, 1 end has 2 the other end 1. This matches up in the tray itself and also you have the racks upside down. What look like feet are handles. Best wishes
@@fulloffood Hi, many thanks for reply. It's obviously due to the fan and element being at the back as opposed to above as you highlighted in the video. Is there a different air fryer you'd recommend that is the same width?
I don't know if you're still reading this, but the grill inserts have to have their holders facing upwards. The grill inserts are held in the basket by the bulges :)
You wouldn't be able to cook anything with a sauce in the stack because of the vents to allow the air flow...the stack is definitely not one for me...thanks for the review x
The vents don’t go all the way to the bottom, this allows the use of paper liners without blocking the holes much. Overall it saves masses of space and is very neat on my bunker.
Thanks for the review. It looks like you're using the racks upside down (arms should be pointing up, from the promotional pics)? A pity that the control panel isn't better, as that's one of the only things I'd like to see improved on the Dual Zone (the dial should be used for selecting time).
Yeah, they only go one way. The joys of doing my first ever demonstration whilst talking video, I put it in the wrong way round. Does beg the question why it wasn’t designed to be used both ways!
Very helpful review, I think the dual zone is better as you can use they baskets as a pot, you can't do the same with the stack because of the holes in the basket.
@@shinylee6533 You take the crisper tray or basket out and it's a pot. In the UK there are a couple of cooking shows that show you how to use it as a pot.
I keep looking at these things, I live alone and don't cook meals for myself, started living on junk food or even just cereals!!. I work long hours and just can't be bothered to turn the cooker on when i fainly get home, I don't have 40 mins to make something are these things quicker? Are their any videos of how to cook using an air fryer? I'm not sure how I'd get on with one? I also don't want to buy a cheap one only to end up thinking or wishing I got the more expensive machine and vice versa.
Really nicely done video. I have the original Ninja Dule air fryer and one thing I really don't like about it is the touch screen. Glad with the stack they gave it buttons.
This is a great review. Very informative. Thank you. I think this new Ninja Stack is a bit of a gimmick. I like to soak the drawers and like you say in your review you can’t fill the drawer with soapy water because of the holes in the back of the drawer. I’ll be sticking with my lovely dual. Thanks for a brilliant review 💕
Thank you for the review. I like to put oil in the bottom of my dual for roast potatoes as if they were cooked in the oven, couldn’t do that in the stack so definitely won’t be getting one. ❤
Great review. I'm not one for trading in for a newer model. I have the dual at present, but should it wear out I'll not consider a stack that's for sure.
You refer to the difficulties you had with the control panel on the Stack. And yet, you appear to be right handed. I can imagine that using it as a left handed person might be even worse! It might even become a two handed operation if you need to steady the panel from behind whilst you press the small buttons.
Thanks for this perfect test👌🏻I'am from germany and i look for german speaking tests. But it's an clear english speaking from you, so understood everything. The double stack was my first choise because the design amd the less space in kitchen. But i think it's like you're going to buy a sports new vehicle but you don't have the track to race with.😅 So my choice change to the non double stack because the result is more better.
What an amazing review, you explained everything perfectly. I really couldn’t get on with the holes in the back of the drawer so won’t be buying a Stack. Thanks very much. 🤓
You mention you use a rack that you bought separately for the dual zone, so then basically it will do the same as the stacker? Cook veggies in bottom and protein in top of rack?
Thanks. I’ve compared the dual zone to the megazone and made a video on it. I haven’t compared the stack with the megazone as the stack is boxed up ready to go back.

Good decision. Love the 10 in 1. You’re right it’s so versatile.
Amazingly reviewed, made easy buying for me 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thank you
very helpfull was going to buy the stack but not worth for the price and cooking thank for the usefull info.
Thanks for watching! Really appreciate your comment.
Best wishes
Thank you! Regarding the uneven cooking no this isn’t normal for air fryers. I’ve found the same problem with the stack 😬
The grill inserts are held in the basket by the bulges
:)
Thanks for the comment
You wouldn't be able to cook anything with a sauce in the stack because of the vents to allow the air flow...the stack is definitely not one for me...thanks for the review x
Great point.
You can, any fluid I want I cook with either foil dish or a glass dish which will easily stack in
@iriswoodhead6132 surely that would block the heat and air flow?!
The vents don’t go all the way to the bottom, this allows the use of paper liners without blocking the holes much. Overall it saves masses of space and is very neat on my bunker.
What are you air frying with sauce?
You’ve convinced me to go with the trusty dual.❤
Good choice. It really is a great machine.
@@fulloffood because the racks need a way to get them out whenthere 240 c hot,
Very helpful review, I think the dual zone is better as you can use they baskets as a pot, you can't do the same with the stack because of the holes in the basket.
Thank you. Yes that’s a great point about using the baskets as a pot.
you are genius use air fryer as a pot,how you use it like a pot?
@@shinylee6533 You take the crisper tray or basket out and it's a pot. In the UK there are a couple of cooking shows that show you how to use it as a pot.
Very good Review/Compare. Thank you!
Thanks very much for this video, its really informative, I had no idea how different they really were, thank you xx
You are so welcome! Thank you for commenting. It means a lot.
The buttons on the stack feel very similar to those on my AF400. Both tactile.
You were inserting the racks upside down. Even the leaflet shows the bracket upwards. The grid rests on little nodes
Thank you so much for your comment. It means a lot. Yes I’m sticking with the dual too!
@@catherines9857 just fill the sink more so your water comes over the top of the entire drawer!
This is an outstanding comprehensive review. Subscribed 👍
Much appreciated!
Thank you for the review. I like to put oil in the bottom of my dual for roast potatoes as if they were cooked in the oven, couldn’t do that in the stack so definitely won’t be getting one. ❤
Absolutely that. Going to try some things in it but could be a no go with the mesh at the back.
I cook my meats in in first then use the drippings for vegetables and potatoes is that not a option even in the bottom?
Thanks so much for this video. You pointed out things I hadn’t even considered but are actually a complete dealbreaker!
Thank you. We found all this out after buying it, most of which isn’t in the marketing material.
Guess I also wouldn't be able to use a liner in this too as would block airflow
Yes thats a good point. I’m testing the machine more over the next few weeks so I’ll definitely try and see.
Got ny new stack delivered today and it's still in the delivery box. I'm not sure if I want to keep it now.... 🤔
👍
I returned it.
such a thorough review - great work!
Thanks
Great video have the same as u after seeing this going to stick with my dual thank you saved me 270 quid 😊
Glad I could help you and your bank balance!
Great review. I'm not one for trading in for a newer model. I have the dual at present, but should it wear out I'll not consider a stack that's for sure.
Thank you. I’d say that’s quite a unanimous opinion so far.
You refer to the difficulties you had with the control panel on the Stack. And yet, you appear to be right handed. I can imagine that using it as a left handed person might be even worse! It might even become a two handed operation if you need to steady the panel from behind whilst you press the small buttons.
Yes that is a great point!
I’ve just paid £179 for a stack from QVC. Hope it’s good as my foodi
Sounds like a great deal.
Oh good grief, not another one! Ninja just doesn't stop. Now a stackable? Give me a break LOL. Thank you for your great review.
Thank you for your comment. Yes they do seem to be releasing a lot!
Thank you.
Brilliant review. I'll get the dual model now.
Thank you! Glad you liked the review.
Hi thanks for the vlog i was seriously thinking about buying one but not anymore there is so many design faults, 🍻🍻
Glad I could help. Thank you for commenting!
update for you.I sent mine back as it did not cook the food properly. cheers
Can you use silicone inserts eith the stack if yoy wanted to use a sauce, um guessing you couodnt because of the vents at the back?
I was thinking about that too but wondered if the side of the insert would block some of the heat/air flow.
Why you can not stack 2 diffrent foods in the Ninja Dual? Because the heat comes from above?
It can be done but times will vary.
You mention you use a rack that you bought separately for the dual zone, so then basically it will do the same as the stacker? Cook veggies in bottom and protein in top of rack?
Yes it does! If you take a look at my videos you’ll find the accessories kit it got off of Amazon. Hope that helps.
Great review - very useful to help me to decide!
Glad it was helpful! Thank you.
Ive got a Flexi drawer snd ill stay with that, great review ,thanks
Thank you for your comment!
Like the reviews, have you compared these with the megazone model?
Thanks. I’ve compared the dual zone to the megazone and made a video on it. I haven’t compared the stack with the megazone as the stack is boxed up ready to go back.
