I love your walking tours, Shinichi. Your camera work is a great blend of the bigger view of the market, combined with closeup shots of the food items you chose to eat. I love your written commentary!! The artwork on the cup is perfect, too. Your artistic views of architectural interest, signage, people, and food is simply fabulous! Much heartwarming thanks. ARIGATO
Thank you for walk through kyoto mall. It. brought memories for my son Tristen. He now wants to go back more than ever. The shrimp skewer looked good. I love shopping and could not notice the non food shops. I would get lost in shopping. Have a beautiful day!
This is what i come to see, its to feel like I’m there. Commentary is nice in some ways but to have no commentary and simply walk around makes you feel like you truly are there, the subtitles and having the prices translated into US currency is very appreciative. I put this on when I’ve had a really tough day and its like I’m there. Thank you so much please continue doing videos like this, a lot of people really appreciate the no commentary videos. Some may like commentary but I and a few others are not. Thank you very much
Nishiki Market is amazing! Even the first two places you visited, the senbei store and the wagashi store, looked so wonderful! I would have been so excited to shop there. Every place you visited looked fantastic. The individual-sized okonomiyaki looked like so much fun to eat. I always wish that something like that existed! I think that would be a good challenge for you and Satoshi for one of your cooking videos. Thanks for sharing this with us!
Thank you for these videos! Love that you don't have background music or commentary. I also appreciate the descriptions you provide for some food people may be unfamiliar with. Can't wait to go to Japan once travel restrictions are lifted!
Such an interesting vid! Very pleasurable to watch as there is no blah, blah, blah from the blogger!! Very much appreciated.....thank you for giving us sub-titles as to what you are eating & how it tastes! Happy to subscribe!
Wow ! the tempura jumbo shrimp sure was expensive. Everything looks so tasty,I’m sure I would love it all. Thank you for shatter these videos. The crape is well worth the price . My favorite was the veggie crape.❤️👍🏻
Yesterday, I had to give up visiting Nishiki Market because of the bad weather. I appreciate this upload! Shinko looks amazing. I'd like to try that next time I'm in Kyoto.
13:25 definitely the grilled beef on skewer - it made my heart sing and I could neither taste it nor smell it - I think my knees would go weak if I were to actually eat it 😃😉 many thanks for another great episode on street foods - next to breakfasts they are my fav 🤗
Went here during my first trip to Kyoto back in 2018. Food was really, really good. All me and my mom had for lunch there was just random street food we found, and all of it was delicious.
I dream of one day going and living in Japan, but not in the city... I’d love to live in a small town on the mountains or maybe just an hour outside of a major city, you know? I really appreciate the culture and love the history and people there. Sadly, my dream may never happen... but I’m still holding onto it!
We love Nishiki Market, last year we went for holiday to Japan. We really2 enjoyed Kyoto. We explored everywhere, we love staying at Ryokan. Good luck for your channel.
Love that market! I spent a couple of months in Kyoto in 2010 and spent a small fortune at the Nishiki Market shops, including the 100 Yen shop. I really want to visit again. It's such a special city.
There's always a fascinating view on this video, the floor... Hehehehe... Why? Because it was sooooo clean. Having a good and clean environment makes you enjoy eating food. This is why Japan is very far beyond from the other countries when it comes to cleanliness and disciplined...
I deeply appreciate the lack of narration, just the natural noise and ambiance of the place as captured by the camera's microphones. The text commentary is quite good enough. Much better than overly produced TV content with a narrator that won't shut up. Excellent work.
I was at Nishiki Market last year when I visited Kyoto. Great place that stretches several blocks. Lots of different shops selling a variety of things.
I found you edited videos of summer and winter together, as some shots people wearing winter gown, suddenly all wearing summer shorts, but it looks nice in general, keep up and we support you!
I am planning a trip with my boyfriend to japan and I am looking for something fun to do whilst being able to try a lot of local food so this is amazing! thank you, plus I get to practice a little Japanese along the way, I study Japanese
I vlog from shanghai and always worry about me being a bad presenter. Your videos just prove you don’t even need to speak to tell great stories (subtitles help!). I love this market! Was the best market experience we had in Tokyo. We actually even went to the first store you tried the rice crackers at! Unfortunately we tried the rice cakes, which wasn’t so great. Will try the crackers next time!
If I ever visit Japan I would like to try Tempura Shrimp. I,ve eaten here in the U.S. and it was delicious!!!! I would like to try Matcha tea dessert. Hi Justin!!!!! I enjoyed the video!!! Thank you!!!
Wow! Epic street food tour, is right! I’d go broke visiting, because not only would my eyes be bigger, than my stomach, but I’d want to buy up everything, to bring back home with me. The arare stand at the beginning looked so good. I found it interesting that the wagyu sushi is not dipped in shoyu. I also found it interesting that at the fish cake stall, there was a sign that said “no walking and eating.” Hmmmm....isn’t that what street food is all about? Oh, that kuromame milkshake, yum!! And all of the sweet beans! I’ve never had mizu manju before. I do know what kudzu is now, as I actually used it in an Osechi recipe this past Oshogatsu. I just found out that there’s a new (Hiroshima style), okonomiyaki restaurant in J-town. After looking at your okonomiyaki, I now want to try it. Brother!!!! I saw menchikatsu and grilled Ayu! I swear! I’d get whiplash at that marketplace! Thank you for sharing! Total bucket list video! ♥️
Mindy's Mom I watched a video about walking and eating. That is older Japanese custom...from what I understand. Younger ppl don’t really think it’s that big of a deal, but if they ask you specifically not to eat and walk then I believe you’re supposed to stand in one spot while you eat.
“no walking and eating.” means: "Please eat them in standing and stationary. Don't walk around in the crowd while foods on your hands otherwise the food which you have might stain other's clothing."
Japan has decided to ease entry restrictions. Deregulation will start on 11 October. Japan welcomes more tourists than ever before. This video is very helpful for visiting Japan. Thank you for introducing us to Japan.
All that wonderful food and in the end, the giant Wendy's first kitchen *laugh*. The sad part is I want to try how japan does a hamburger now. Wonderful looking video as usual.
When I go to Japan, I'll end up being broke before the first day due to me wanting to buy up all the food. I'll need at least a million yen for my trip.
I came here 3 years ago in October; it was much more crowded then in this video. I had to try the small red squid on a stick that has the quail egg in the head. Not that tasty but makes for a good selfie for the folks back home. My favorite item was ponzu flavored soft serve ice cream.
I have never been to Kyoto, it’s on my next trip destination! Thank you for allowing me to join you on your travels. I simply love this format!!! (And when I miss hearing you and Satoshi...I know I can go to Tabieats!)
So nice to have the quiet bustle of the market instead of loud, obnoxious commentary and soundtrack. Well done.
Cauxzie Ruffhausen exactly. Amazing
🙌:-)
If you watch this guy on his other channels, their commentary is awesome. Far from obnoxious.
Ditto 💖
I was thinking the same thing!

Thank you for these videos! Love that you don't have background music or commentary. I also appreciate the descriptions you provide for some food people may be unfamiliar with. Can't wait to go to Japan once travel restrictions are lifted!

The explanation of food is great!

Ok, now I'm hungry. That beef looked excellent. And I'm usually a fan of fish.
Nice walk through. I probably go broke and buy everything I see! I did like the beef on the stick. It looked delish! 😋😋😋
Excellent video, Your a great cameraman, and now I’m hungry 👍

I'm so happy that you don't have obnoxious music playing over the video. Instead I can enjoy the real sounds of the people and the environment.
I love all your videos. They are so relaxing and I enjoy exploring a new world outside of my own. Thank you for making these videos.
The water bun looked amazing. Very different and I would love to try it some time. The beef skewer would probably be my favorite as well.

Though I would never be able to afford travelling to Japan but this video culled my sweet tooth. Happy hunting!

I really want to try the rice crackers in the first shop!

I like that you tell us what things are and how much U.S. they cost. 👍🏻
We're there in Feb 2020. Love to go there again.
I love soy milk so I would love to try the soy bean shake or the fresh soy milk!
That okonomiyaki looked really unusual :D More like an omelette!
I just came to this channel~
I like a lot of Japanese foods.
Especially, beef sushi is great in this video🍣😍
