Far Away
In the morning when the day breaks, and the sun begins to shine
I get ready to set out to go and see what I can find
I am going, I am going, I am going far away
over hills and over mountains, I am going far away
fish are jumping in the ocean, that is washing up the shore
every wave that breaks is different, so why do what you’ve done before
there’s a road that leads to nowhere, out of sight and round the bend
not to know what lies behind it, would be more than I could stand
round the corner there’s a valley, with a river running free
to discover where it leads to, that is just the thing for me
In the distance there’s a mountain, and its nose points to the sky
though its slopes are hard to climb, they must be surely worth a try
there’s a spot on the horizon, that I pick haphazardly
and I go walkabout and wander, just enjoying being free
