Thanks for this video here it is 2022 and I was just gifted a beautiful Space Invaders by Bally from a friend, It needs this Exact connector replaced but I'm just gonna do them all while I'm in there.
A better tool to push the 'tooth' down to disengage the pin from the plug, is an exacto knife. A much finer tip. Also, the thin blade can be used to lift the tooth up prior to reinserting the pin in the plug, to make it 'lock' better in the plug. In a pinch, you can also use a pair of needle-nosed pliers to crimp the pin to the wire; the insulation first then the wire. I have also soldered the wire/pin, when I thought that the plug would be in a 'moist' environment. Be carefull! Too much solder can prevent the pin from properly seating in the plug. Lastly, and as a further hedge against corrosion/corroded contacts, spray the plug with Caig Lab's DeoxIT D5 spray. It is very effective (NO, I am not a spokesman for Caig Labs; I simply like and use their products). Just some random tips and tricks.
