This demonstration made use of the newly-released UP 4141 SD70ACe unit by Kato. This tutorial is half the length of our last SD70ACe installation and filled with details and tips for performing a bulletproof installation that will last the test of time.
For years, N Scale modelers have been looking for a solution to rough and dirty track that interrupts locomotive power. TCS' new miniaturized KA1 and KA2 devices are the perfect fit for many N scale locomotives! Learn More about Keep Alive® Devices: tcsdcc.com/keep...

Thank you Stephen, excellent tutorial. The only request I would make would be to see a couple stills or a few seconds of video of the Dremel tool work that's required. I would like to see what bit was used in the tool and how much of the frame was actually removed to fit the KA1. Other wise, perfection Sir.

It would have been nice to take a marker and show what needs to be ground down. A before and after shot would have been nice also.

Just curious why you needed to disassemble the loco to use the dremel tool?

I gave a thumbs up! For the video work. However there is absolutely NOT A Chance in !!!! I would buy a brand new Kato and start grinding away at the Chassis. I see a lot of very disappointed buyers who buy what they think is a nice little Engine only to find a someone's bad hacked up junk.

    Thanks Dan!
Once again I ask if you are going to show us specifically where to solder these keep alive's to what pad on each TCS decoder. Looking fir guidance for the 15-20 CN-GP installs.
    Thanks
