@Carl Billingham, Great tip! I may start doing this as well. A few weeks ago I was able to score a brand new serpentine belt while at the junkyard, although it was for the ac compressor. The belts on my R50 are relatively new, both were changed back in February of this year.
@@TheCamperDanFiles yeah, I put all of my spare parts in the tub in the back which is on top of the spare wheel. Access to this storage area is limited usually because of all the camping gear in the back on top of it but it’s there if I need it. I also throw in spare hoses, hose clamps, some standard sized nuts and bolts, fuses, spare bulbs, electrical wire, waterproof duct tape, zip ties, fencing wire, ratchet straps, tyre plug kit, funnel, oil and radiator coolant. Hopefully I will never need to use any of these items! 🤣
@Carl Billingham, I honestly haven't thought about storing anything in this part of my trunk until now. I currently have a roll of duct tape, a first aid kit, my wireless brake controller for my wife's 6X10 Cargo trailer camp conversion, a multi-tool, and a few other basic hand tools. This is all stored in the storage compartment on the right side of my trunk. In addition to those items, I also have an emergency roadside kit. Whenever I go camping or on a road trip, I bring a 1/2 Braker Bar and a 13/16 deep socket(which makes changing to my spear a little less painful). Still need to invest in some recovery gear tho.
Good point, in my spares box I carry a spare radiator cap along with a full set of belts when ever I head off on a long trip. Just in case…
