While in high school I was a kick off/punt returner and got the band to play this everytime I waited for the ball to be kicked to me; this song got me hyped; I'll always remember the atmosphere friday night lights!!
Im a HS freshman and the football team always supports the band. My band went to something called “Band Jam”, where all bands in the district come, play their shows, and just hang out, socialize, and mess around with each other. I was waiting in the stands for our bands turn and our football team comes around the corner with glow sticks and jerseys, and cheers us on while we played. Currently one of my favorite memories. (TLDR: The Marching Band and the Football Team always have a special bond with each other 😊)
As a sousaphone player, I can agree the soli is very stressful the first time around when the director says "If you mess it up the soli, this band program isn't playing it until you graduate 😁👍"
My college didn't have it as a soli. We had it as a solo until all the brass came in. He starts the whole band, so if he starts playing then we all come in haha
whenever i think of a marching band or marching band songs in general i think of this. I really want my band to play this. Edit: MY BAND IS PLAYING THIS AS A PEP TUNE! I'M SO HAPPY!
Performed this same arrangement in the stands this semester at UTM. Go SkyHawks!!! Nothing like playing in such a positive and might I say great sounding band. My favorite part is towards the end with the contrasting chords. I do believe I played a C sharp mostly there ha. Marched Bass Clarinet.
Ah to have that many sousaphones. My school as 2 including me and at every basketball game we go down on the court and play it and we have to blast so much just to be heard and I sucks
dustin_long18 There’s literally *nobody* on the field, and you can’t even play when the game’s on because it counts as trying to distract the other team, which the cause the main team to be disqualified.
SunED that doesn’t mean a college band can’t blend. Obviously the tubas will be loud but when instruments have important parts they should be heard. I could not hear them once. And trumpets were further and I could hear them most of the time.
Evan Romito you realize that camera positioning and quality comes in to play during this? the higher pitched instruments will always be heard over other instruments if everyone plays at the same level
Xterra_Gang 21 It was slightly better, but they also had a better arrangement of the song, and I’m guessing the probably didn’t record it in a giant football stadium. The quality and sound was pretty much the same, so I don’t know why you have to be a dick about it. You just preferred the other version of the song, not the quality behind it.

This hits different after a win

I'm a tuba. I love playing this with the band merrily singing along
amazing band arrangement
Finally the right one in the right tempo just like I played it in my band
Started getting faster as soon as the melody line started, and kept getting faster the whole time.
ik kinda scary for college

As a guard section leader in high school I had the honor of choreographing this. It is super fun!!
wau thats great ! hello from Czech republic !
Hello
Was hoping the bands allowed in stadiums in 2020 would only play this song. Would be funny and sad and touching
Sorely missing the "Ooo AHH!"
"Heeeeeyyyyy, heeeyyy baby! (Oh baby!) I wanna knoooOoOoOoooow, if you'll be my girl!" Is the right way to do it
@@DistressedKnight I feel like the "hoo! hah!" is really needed to get things really pumped up
Most bands don’t really do the “OOOH, AAA” unfortunately. A few woodwind do it in mine tho

At one of our football games our two band Director Played the tuba part while the rest of us sang the song

Fantastico ! BRAVISSIMI
Go to Penn State they have over 100k fans. So cool EVER STADIUM THAT DOES THIS.
So fun!
y the conductor stopped them tho
Probably a hurt player. But im not sure they stop us during high school football games when someone gets hurt so its probably the same here.
Maybe tv time-out was over
Because the other team scored probably, it’s Tennessee
VG 2016
They would stop the whole song just because of *one* player. Either the teams are about to come out, or timeout is over.

Evan Romito
Wooow, you’re special.

Yeah, this guy has absolutely no clue how sound works.

So awful. Go to Madison, Wisconsin to learn how this is really played!
