Cappy Roll Jump: Throw Cappy (don't stop holding Y), do a groundpound (don't stop holding ZL), press X at the right time and steer in the right direction.
Roll Cancel Vectoring: Do a Groundpound (don't stop holding ZL), steer forward and press X, Y and A at the same time.
Both methods require to find the right angle. 45° should be the perfect angle.

I can't get used to seeing Mario in a realistic big city with normally proportioned people walking around and doing normal every day mundane stuff, like travelling to work or any number of other activities. For over 30 years now Mario has always been in the mushroom kingdom, or a handful of other fantasy settings and it is really hard to picture him in a city full of sky scrapers and pavement and cars and not grassy areas with plumbing pipes and pitfalls into the void, and a variety of creatures with different colored turtle shells and pirahna plants and bullet bills. It is definitely a great game and looks fantastic, it's just a shock to the system seeing Mario in a big metropolitan area with full sized human beings, lol.
Fun fact: Mario is around 5 feet tall so those city people are actually giants 😂

The reason why the mushroom kingdom one was impossible, is because there's an invisible wall that players can't bypass. The reason why there's an invisible wall in the first place, is so that way players who are playing the game early (by that I mean playing the main story) can't access to it until they complete the game.
that invisible wall is the only thing stopping a player from doing it too

There is an easy alternative to roll cancel vectoring, ground pound roll off the edge at a 45 degree angle to your target, and then quickly let go of X or Y to stop rolling, and steer yourself towards your target. I've done the Bowser jump at least five times with this method, 0 times with roll cancel vectoring because it is too hard.
Sometimes I call the easier method "groundpound roll runout"

It shouldn't be possible, or else everything in the "after-game" would essentially be null and void
Hutkovsky it’s called impossible jump because it was not intended by Nintendo to be possible, so Nintendo thought it was impossible to these jumps and that’s why it’s called impossible jump.
Then they should have tested it.
And what did we all learn from this?
Answer: that normal long jumps suck!

Majestic Mo they can’t benefit from any of these impossible jumps. The one in Bowsers Kingdom is not possible until you beat the game. If you try to get to the island in the sky before beating the game, the painting to get there is blank.

dragonboy 931 it is becuase the game does not expect you to have alot of speed besides dat roll,so the game won't think you would attempt even the hardest of jumps..kinda reminds me of the backwards long jump from sm64

Ninja Skeletronix No because the roll has more speed, but the roll goes faster fordwards, but the long jump travels slower forwards, but the long jump is used if you want to reach a platform on same height as the platform you stand on. Sorry for bad grammar....

I like how this game's movement is so free that these jumps are possible.
Mushroom Kingdom's impossible jump is real impossible. Wanna know why? Its because there's an invisible wall preventing you to do any kind of jump to get there. Also Like #ProsafiaGaming

They're not impossible. That's just the name they've been given, because the developers did not intend for them to be possible. But people always find workarounds

I just want to say, after you Cappy dive once, you can press B (or A depending on your preference) once to hover for .5 - 1 second to make a longer gap. You are still able to Cappy dive a second time like normal. You just get farther.
