- Voice of Hassan (Sawt Lhassan inadi) was the anthem of the Green March, and was sung as the events unfolded. It is widely associated with the demonstration and Morocco's claims over the Western Sahara. The title references the order of King Hassan II to occupy the land, and today the occupation of the Western Sahara is considered one of his most characteristic achievements during his rule.
The flag displayed is not the national flag of Morocco, but the royal ensign.

On the 6th of November 1975, approximately 350,000 unarmed Moroccans converged on the southern border of the country and waited for a signal from King Hassan II to cross into the Spanish Sahara. They brandished Moroccan flags, banners, photographs of the King, and the Qur'an.
On the 7th of November, the hundreds of thousands of Moroccans advanced several kilometers into the Spanish Sahara. In order to prepare for a possible counter-invasion from Algeria (a major rival of Morocco), the Moroccan Army had entered the northeast of the region on the 31st of October. As the marchers crossed the border, the Spanish Armed Forces were ordered not to open fire. Spain feared that challenging Morocco could result in greater political instability, or worse, a full-on colonial war. Spain instead agreed to enter negotiations with Morocco and Mauritania.
The Spanish Sahara was divided between Morocco and Mauritania by the Madrid Accords on the 14th of November. Mauritania withdrew from the Western Sahara in 1979 due to pressure from local rebels, leaving their territory to Morocco. The Green March was internationally condemned, though not by the US or France, who both had a distaste towards Algeria. The US remains the only nation which recognizes Morocco's full sovereignty over the Western Sahara.

The purpose of the Green march was to expel the spanish occupation from the south of Morocco, 350 thousands of civilians participated in it, carrying only Quran and flags so it was definitely no occupation from the Moroccan side since the international court recognised the historical allegiance ties of saharan tribes to the Moroccan monarchy, it was an act of peace and union of a nation divided by colonialism, what happened next was a defensive of Moroccan territory against the militias created to lead a proxy war in the times of cold war.
