    Hello Hope all is well.
    Nanmu just does killer sculptures.
The original Behemoth Giga is one of the most
beautiful figures I own but I am tempted to
order this version because I am addicted
admittedly to all these awesome pieces.

Not a question for this model, but one in general. I am a 4th grade teacher who for years has displayed prehistoric models by Carnegie, Safari, Papo, Schleich, Nanmu, etc in my classroom for years. It's come to my attention that several of my figures, like the 2012 Carnegie Brachiosaurus and the Crylophosaurus, are going for hundreds of dollars on eBay. I'm somewhat stunned by this. Why are they so expensive? Is there a list somewhere of the most valuable dinosaur replicas?
I watch your videos daily; keep up the good work!

    • @andysdinosaurreviews
      @andysdinosaurreviews  ปีที่แล้ว +4

First of all thank you so much for watching! Also, there are quite a few very pricey figures and that's because they're actually retired and discontinued. Unfortunately there isn't a list anywhere that I know of but maybe I'll make a video in the future on the rarest figures. I wish I had a better and more helpful response.

    • @johncostello6019

@@andysdinosaurreviews It's a great response. I've been collecting dinos for years but other than the Battat Diplodocus I never really considered any of them being worth that kind of money. I got that 2012 Brachiosaurus at a little shop in Mystic CT for 12 bucks!
Maybe it's good that my students don't know that the bookshelf of dinos they see every day is worth a couple thousand bucks lol.

I think the decision to do away with mouth articulation is mainly so they can sell more their dragon soul series (or the other variant in the case of their carno 2.0), which is usually the closed mouth version.

Does anyone have an idea who the human figure is based on?
Also, there seems to be less and less inclusion of human figures with the dinos, which is a shame. I would like to see at least a mini unpainted version of the dino with each nanmu release (which the Parasaurolopus had), because it is a lot of fun painting them

Yeaaa I wouldn’t be complaining. If these were official licensed JW products, the price would jump an extra $150+ for the exact same model just cause it has the brand name. These models are worth it imo. This is an extremely accurate JW Giga without using the actual JW name cause they don’t have the license

This Giganotosaurus is of high quality, so I'm satisfied.
However, the border between the large scales and the fine scales on the back is too clear and looks unnatural.
Furthermore, the fine scales lack a three-dimensional effect, so if you look at it from a little distance, the skin looks flat and thin except for the back.
JW's Giganotosaurus had more three-dimensional scales, and gradually changed naturally, giving the impression of thick and solid skin.
So the quality is high, but the first Giganotosaurus is still my favorite.
I hope they release a new Giganotosaurus with that type of design and fixed mouth wide open.

  • @murphyslaw5150

A very polarising design for me - and others. Giga is my second favourite massive theropod but this design of it is just appalling.
I know that the JP rex is far off but at least they used what was the current science at the time.
That said, the sculpt and paint work of this model is once again, Nanmu standard.

@@AtrociCollector And to some it doesn’t - it’s really a matter of opinion and if you’re cool with it then more power to you.
But all of the dinosaur designs, in my opinion, are now much more closely in line with a typical monster - (all of the main theropod antagonists) - Indominus Rex looked garbage (imo), the Indoraptard is dreadful, the Scorpius Rex…I mean what even the fuck is that and now the Giga…looks like a massive, gecko-dile.
As I said above, Rexy and Spino both have huge issues…but they were based on science available at the time…it seems with Giga they didn’t even bother.
