It won't stop them dead in their tracks, nothing will, bit it will slow them down so much, that you can run, or defend yourself, before they can remove the phone.

Great video. Saw my first phone snatch in Piccadilly a week last Friday. Three guys all on ebikes, all with face masks. Pinched someone's phone. He gave chase and rugby tackled one to the ground. Not sure if he got his phone back as we rushed off. A very scary moment.
back in 2000 I used to do Chinese takeaway deliveries, this was way before sat nav. I did my local area so I kinda knew where the streets were. However, I hated going into the "dodgy" areas outwith my usual area. It was scary as bearing in mind I got paid with cash when we did the delivery for the food and my delivery charge and it was risky carrying the money on me, thankfully I was never robbed, but you still had the fear that it was a possibility. Often people would call the shop for a delivery with no intention of paying for it, they would take it then just slam the door in my face. I was a female on my own, so what could I do? People don't realize that this is hard work. Climbing lots of stairs, often long walks from where we parked, rude customers, rude shop staff. I did it for about 3 months, that was enough. So I have huge respect for all delivery drivers..I always thank them and wish them safe driving as without home delivery now I would struggle, as I'm a chronic pain sufferer. So thank you ALL hard working delivery guys and gals 💖💖
I am from New York and have visited London and I can honestly say you were not wrong for your judgement. It happens here too and it's the nature of living in a big city you know. I saw those signs from the Metro police when I was visiting London and just carried on as if I were in NYC staying vigilant and aware of surroundings
It's weird I was looking at £50 quid phones that'd I'd use just for doing this sorta work, that way if anything goes wrong I don't feel too out of pocket. I wasn't even thinking abut thieves just the bloomin mount letting go of the phone on a dual carriageway. 😲
The number of people I see walking with their heads down on their mobiles is crazy - no awareness of who or what is around them lol. You got to be so careful
Yep he was going to get your phone If you fully understand the streets you can spot this bs in any country trust me . His right hand was ready for a smooth snatch . Good job bro
May I suggest a quad lock case and mount? From what I've noticed yours is just a pull mechanism whereas with quadlock you have to press a tongue bit and then twist the phone 90 degrees for it to release. Definitely much much harder to swipe like that on the fly.
My best mate and I were in London back in April for a concert near Camden and it was around 11 at night and we were waiting to be picked up and about 10 minutes before our ride home arrived her phone was snatched out of her hand, it was the scariest moment for both of us and the police wouldn’t do anything because we weren’t local…just in London never have your phone out unless it’s important to do so!!
Hello London Eats... So glad he didn't try to hurt you and that with your awareness of his probable intentions to snatch your phone... you outsmarted the so and so. I do so hate thieves... too lazy to get off their butts and get a job to work for what they want/need!! Cheers my friend and stay safe!! Pretty sure the first guy was on Albert Embankment yesterday, identical description. All in black with balaclava and a mountain bike with a big emotor on the cross bar. Scoping people out by the Park Plaza in broad daylight.
It’s funny (to me) about your fear of leaving food at the door, because that’s almost all we do in North America. The notion for all types of deliveries being “contactless” became “a thing” here during Covid and it just caught on permanently as being more preferable for customers. I like it because it’s so much faster. But, having said that, I enjoy greeting people who are at the door or outside waiting for their order. They are all so friendly and happy (well… except for a small number of dreary teenagers).
Considering the quality of ebikes on the market its about time they did one with an android dash to run the apps or allow you to cast your phone screen to the dash
Not only was he gonna nick you're phone but he didn't have any lights on his bike. He should be careful, anything could crash into him and knock him to the ground and then reverse over him for good measure.
It would serve the b word in the balaclava on the e-bike blimming well right if his lack of lights did cause a crash. It’s called carma for his light fingers.
I live in London and I never take my phone out unless I think its safe to do so. My sisters' phone was stolen last November because of it, she was glued to her phone and out of surprise came the thief - she never saw that phone again. Everyday I see people with their phones out hoping they are careful. I remember seeing 2 lads on a moped who kept riding through the pathway looking to snatch phones when I was on my way to the shop, then I came out the shop, 10 seconds later I heard someone scream "oi" in the distance and it was the same people riding around. DON'T walk around in London with your phone out unaware of your surroundings unless it's safe to do so. Stay safe out there Londoners and expats.
I always wondered if your phone will get snatched. Well done for saving your phone! Probably check your phone for updates in less target location such as inside flats/apartments before leaving the buildings
No, because: 1. You shouldn't be searched for the way you dress 2. police would then very quickly begin abusing that and stop and search anyone who "looks suspicious"
Dam lucky and it's fantastic you naturally that observant as well. Thanks for highlighting this. The London issue and with aid of e-bikes do no one any favours. THIS IS A REAL PROBLEM!!
It’s good that you’re doing your work but also keeping your wits about you, keeping alert and keep yourself safe. I was a cab driver in London and I used to see a lot of these thieves who looked for opportunities to steal.
It’s scary people snatching phones, so many are unaware with their expensive phones out ready for those thieves to pluck. It was brilliant you were aware and used your intuition to stop your phone being snatched. Nice move 😄
Up by london bridge the police always send warning letters to offices saying to not use phones on the street because of countless phone snatchers on bikes around there
I dont think your paranoid at all, i would of done the exact same thing, if i witnessed that so i think you did the right, thing and i am soo gratefull you made it away from them
I had the bitter chance of growing up in a bad neighborhood with gypsies, it taught me to *always* be cautious and to check my surroundings and give each people around me a good 1-2 second look and see if they exhibit any dodgy behavior. Out on the streets, you should never give them an opportunity to steal something from you easily. You were observant, you trusted your gut and you sensed their intentions way before they made the move. Really well done mate!
From London, but now I am living in Seoul, South Korea. It’s a very different place crime wise! Girls leave their bags open and on the tables in nightclubs/bars/cinemas and then all go away together to the bathroom and leave their bags on the tables with all their phones, car keys and purses etc … no one steals! Gone in a heartbeat if in London. And these are the students you speak of coming from effectively zero crime countries. They’re not streetwise to London and other big cities in the west. In the gym here people leave all their valuables in open storage lockers, shoes clothes, phones, keys, wallets, etc and no one steals! In the subways/metro/underground everyone’s got out their expensive smart devices and bags open … no one steals! People park their cars in the streets and go into the convenience stores while the car is left running/keys in the ignition. And no one steals. Home shopping deliveries (groceries / clothes / electronics / you name it) arrive while people are out at work and no one steals. Although there’s been a few cases of porch pirates but that is so rare. Food deliveries are made and there is never food missing or faking deliveries. As no one steals! Girls can walk the streets late at night by themselves and never anything untoward happens. Once in a blue moon there’s a situation but effectively non-existent. There is a growing trend in credit card fraud but that too isn’t widespread. I miss London! While it’s riddled with crime it’s a vibrant multicultural experience!
You need to make that phone snatch moment a TH-cam short, got to be London/Streetwise. Along with a couple of its kicking off mate moments to lighten up situation.
Quad lock case massively reduces the chances of a quick snatch. Can imagine it might be frustrating for a delivery driver but once it's muscle memory it's still fast to remove
I literally had my bike stolen outside my place of work after a long day, the dude just cut the lock during a busy period and was away before I could do anything about it. It was my transport to and from work, theives are utter scum I'm happy you completely outsmarted this human question mark.
If i ever rode an e-bike to work and it sat out all day while i worked it would have a very loud alarm with paid service to alert me when the alarm goes off . If your bike gets stolen at work having more then one lock will do nothing but delay being stolen by a few minutes at best , your at work , they literally have all day . Install an alarm and position the lock to be extremely difulcult to get to to cut off
Very lucky on those lights as well, you can sit waiting to get out of the junction for up to 2 mins. I swear, main road gets mass priority and if people are crossing you could of been stuck there while they watched you.
18:37 for sure he was a phone snatcher but there is a reason to come over and its to get on to the bike lane on the pavement on the other side by going through the crossing. its much safer and as someone who’s cycled through there when it was empty, i’ve definitely come over to the side to reach the pedestrian crossing to get over to the lane, the cycle lane does take you through towards the bridge and lambeth bridge as well so it is reasonable to say that they wanted to go through there to go wherever they were going.

@@ekaterina9058 Nickelodean!
I love watching you because you don’t complain about the apps, customers or orders. Every American delivery I watch is just complaints. Awesome viewing!❤
I totally agree with you. His hand was ready and everything. Stay safe
you are 100% correct, his right hand was ready for action.
And he pulled his hoodie over in prep for the snatch also…
Not paranoid at all man, that was well spotted. You got good street sense, and the guy was 100% goin for the grab...
That guy on the bike was definitely after your phone. He had a hand free ready as he passed you. Thank god you were alert 😎
That wasn't paranoia, son. That was smart.
The way he angled directly to LE and had his right hand out, ready to grab. Good job spotting that and not getting screwed by bad people.
The number of people I see walking with their heads down on their mobiles is crazy - no awareness of who or what is around them lol. You got to be so careful
he was so going for your phone, good job you had your wits about you.
Yep he was going to get your phone
If you fully understand the streets you can spot this bs in any country trust me .
His right hand was ready for a smooth snatch .
Good job bro
I think its great that you are switched on and paying attention to whats cracking off around you. Better be cautious and aware than blind to it.
May I suggest a quad lock case and mount? From what I've noticed yours is just a pull mechanism whereas with quadlock you have to press a tongue bit and then twist the phone 90 degrees for it to release. Definitely much much harder to swipe like that on the fly.
You're making short films better than Netflix amazing work buddy feels like watching a movie😊
You are right to be on guard. Your phone is how you run your business. Also the music was fire this episode!
Good call. It’s important to be aware of the situation around you at all times.
I always love your soundtracks. I’ve been an American drum and bass DJ for 20+ years and I always love hearing those tunes on your videos. Cheers!
Gladys
(near Washington DC ... you should see our horrible crime stats!!)
You totally did the right thing. Best to be safe than sorry. Stay safe bruv. 👍
Pretty sure the first guy was on Albert Embankment yesterday, identical description. All in black with balaclava and a mountain bike with a big emotor on the cross bar. Scoping people out by the Park Plaza in broad daylight.
Thanks. Professional as always. Pity lots of other people aren't. Stay safe
Not only was he gonna nick you're phone but he didn't have any lights on his
bike.
He should be careful, anything could crash into him and knock him to the ground and then
reverse over him for good measure.
😜
All in black with a bike should be a valid reason for stop and search
No, because:
1. You shouldn't be searched for the way you dress
2. police would then very quickly begin abusing that and stop and search anyone who "looks suspicious"
Good. Why should you dress like a stereotypical criminal?
Dam lucky and it's fantastic you naturally that observant as well. Thanks for highlighting this. The London issue and with aid of e-bikes do no one any favours. THIS IS A REAL PROBLEM!!
Always trust your instincts, they rarely let you down.
This man is unstoppable! He never misses an upload! 🔥
Lad he was definitely going to try and snatch your phone, you could tell by his body language when you put it in your pocket
Good job being so alert out there! Badass!! Love your channel!! 😊❤❤❤
Lookup quad lock motorcycle phone mount option. They require a release lever and 45 degree twist to remove phone.
as the saying goes - better to be safe than sorry.
Nice move 😄
Up by london bridge the police always send warning letters to offices saying to not use phones on the street because of countless phone snatchers on bikes around there
I dont think your paranoid at all, i would of done the exact same thing, if i witnessed that so i think you did the right, thing and i am soo gratefull you made it away from them
I never thought I would enjoy watching a man deliver food 😆. Pretty amazing content. It's a nightwatcher ❤️
You know if something isn't right, you can sense it - better to be safe than sorry.
Yes my man one of the top delivery drivers in London
I disagree. He is THE ONE AND ONLY top delivery driver in London!
110% he was going to swipe it. Can tell by the body language and everything. Good call 👍
Your not paranoid....london gets you like that .
🙂👍
Wise man , keeping yourself and your gear safe..
He was absolutely nicking your phone. Stay safe out there.
Always good to be aware of your surroundings :)
You can get other mounts with the rubber template. Harder to just pull it off so easily
"While it’s riddled with crime it’s a vibrant multicultural experience!"
Yeah those two tends to go hand in hand.
I hear there are a lot of problems in South Korea with sexual exploitation and hidden cameras of women
Yet another brilliant one! I am just glad you had spotted that guy before he took your phone, things must be so stressful. I'm glad you are okay.
I literally had my bike stolen outside my place of work after a long day, the dude just cut the lock during a busy period and was away before I could do anything about it. It was my transport to and from work, theives are utter scum I'm happy you completely outsmarted this human question mark.
'The lock' ?
You only had 1 lock - that's like having no lock.
Install an alarm and position the lock to be extremely difulcult to get to to cut off
Great video, great awareness your phone was definitely going to get snatched. Good reminder for all of us to keep are eyes peeled 👍😀 Stay safe
Very interesting video. You do a difficult job in a very courteous way.
Always enjoying your content. Keep safe mate!
watching from Sydney, AU
Phone snatching happens everywhere, in all major cities around the world. Grip your phone tight, stand away from the road, and keep your eyes peeled.
There is no way he wasn’t going for the phone! Instincts are always right, not paranoid by any means at all 🙂, Great video as always👊 and keep safe
Good Luck on your deliveries
Situational awareness on point!
You are so street smart! A reminder also to all drivers in London to lock your vehicle doors when travelling.
Very lucky on those lights as well, you can sit waiting to get out of the junction for up to 2 mins. I swear, main road gets mass priority and if people are crossing you could of been stuck there while they watched you.
Despite all the obstacles, London city looks beautiful in the night.
That's bloody terrifying. Thank god you're okay and everything. Still loving the merch, I wear it a lot😊
