Dee has experienced one of the most brutal moments in Zelda history: Medli being yeeted around by the Floor Masters.
I’ve played Zelda games for 25 years and played WW multiple times through and have genuinely never seen the floor masters throwing Medli around. Honestly had me in stitches XD

The real hell is the final room of the wind temple. It would be a cakewalk if not for the fact you need to carry Makar the whole way. Adding insult to injury is the fact that Link sets him aside when you enter the boss room on the other side. So what was the point?
I am SO GLAD Nintendo did not put voice acting in this game so that we could enjoy the Adventures of Link and Larry with Dee's voices and extra dialog. I love the LIFE he brings to the gameplay.

It's because you go there during day time. Like most of us.
But it's much easier to see the tear if you go do that scene at night time, the tear even glows very faintly in the darker environment I believe.

As a side note, while I've seen the two floor masters play catch with Medli, I have never seen that one smash her head into the pillar over and over. That was so brutal.

I just want to point out that the Zora (water) became Rito (air) who have a direct bloodline associated with the Earth Temple. Throw in the Rito’s association with the goddess Din and living near a volcano then you have fire as well.
Yeah, if they ever attempt to fill in the gap between OoT and WW they have fun explaining the Rito's origin. But they never will because the hero was "missing" during that point in time
@@Lightmagician60 We have had games that didn’t star Link before so it could happen, like with Ancient Stone Tablets being a sequel to A Link to the Past. Though if they do make a prequel to The Wind Waker without Link it would be the first canon game to do so.
Actually the Rito are still devoted to Nayru look at Medli's outfit. The Zora are devoted to Nayru as well. The Zora Sapphire is blue, the color of Nayru. They just took over Death Mountain after they were transformed and left the Gorons to roam the sea as Merchants. It then become known as Dragon Roost Island due to Valoo's presence.
@@RyanBlazeheart Yeah I am aware of that, there’s really no reason they can’t worship multiple goddesses. I just find the Rito more in line with Din in this game due to her association with fire, the fact her pearl is in possession of the Rito and her island statue having bird wings on her ears. Also, Dragon Roost is confirmed to be Zora’s Domain, the volcano likely formed later. Fire Mountain is Death Mountain.
@@calebgoodman2076 my guess is the Goron's originally had it. And yes the Rito worship both Jabun and Valoo. So the Rito are the only ones to worship two goddesses in a sense.

The Earth Temple was one of the most unsettling experiences I'd ever been through in a Zelda game, besides the Shadow Temple in Ocarina of Time. Though I will say that, for some reason, the redeads in Wind Waker are scarier than the ones in the 64 Zelda games or Twilight Princess.

@@koopliss The boomerang will just bounce off the redead harmlessly, but then it will turn and stare in your direction for a few seconds before looking down again. Very subtle and horrifying.

The Earth Temple was definitely one of my standout moments from this game when I was a kid. I'll admit I liked hanging out with Medli, but I also think the Mirror Shield is one of the coolest LoZ items of all timez.
The Wind Waker version of The Mirror Shield is definitely the best version.
Playing this as a kid who grew up with severe "necro phobia", the zombies in late-game windwaker TEEEEEEERIFIED me like you would not believe, and still gives me chills just from the way my inner child remembers it. The fact that you called them "aliens" at 38:00 made my day! Probably the funniest reaction to those terrible things I've seen yet, alongside the Game Grumps getting immediately grabbed with a perfectly cut video ending to "WHAT IS THAT AAAAAAAAAAAA-"

These redeads are much more scary than the ones in the Zelda 64 games IMO. Probably because of the reason you said. Such a colorful and friendly game. You just don't expect something so out of place

I love the dynamic between Link and Larry.
Medli really is one of the standout characters in this game for me. I always hate leaving her behind down in the temple.
If it helps, she's a DLC character for the original Hyrule Warriors. So she go nuts with wind and earth magic on undead enemies in that game.
The room with the redeads terrified me as a kid, most terrifying version of them..

My personal opinion:
Earth Temple > all other dungeons in the Zelda franchise > Wind Temple
Bro I've been playing Zelda for over 20 years and I still fucking walk into fairies when I try to bottle them. Also as much as I love Medli it was funny as fuck to watch her get repeatedly bashed against the wall.
Please play Skyward Sword HD! It’s my second favourite Zelda game, behind only BOTW. The Switch port fixes all of the issues with the Wii version, and is a much better experience.

Wind waker week has been great to watch live. This is my favorite temple in the wind waker, great throwback to the Spirit Temple from Ocarina of Time.

In the GameCube version you had to physically pick up your companion to get them through a door. Also despite the GameCube version having a multiplayer option you can’t play as Medli without the Wind Waker, only Tingle.

@@Envy_May Yep. Connect a Game Boy Advance and Tingle appears on the GBA screen. He acts like a personal shop equipped with an early version of remote bombs, about 15 years before Breath of the Wild came up with them. He also has special abilities like making Link float on air for a short time. He does have an anti-cheat feature where he refuses to solve puzzles but he comes with his own set of quests involving statues as well as his younger brother Knuckle. I think you can still do the statue quest in the HD version but you’ll have to find them without Tingle, which is tough since there’s one in every dungeon and they’re invisible.

the temple of the earth was intended to be part of Ocarina of Time, it was going to come out in the 64DD expansion, but it was a failure and they had to remove many things from Ocarina and the things they removed were put in Wind Waker and Twilight Princess
It's a pity you hadn't gone back to Outset first. It's really fun to do the little Poe section of the boss fight with the Hurricane Spin.

To clarify. In the Adult timeline, where the Hero of Time didn’t show up and Goddess flooded the Earth, (Yes) the Zora became Rito in Windwaker! However, since Breath of the Wild is in the future 10K years later, most likely the Original Zora either were reborn magically by the universe/Goddess re-created, or maybe there was lil tadpole Zoras around somewhere in a island away from the game maps! 😂🤣 Later on they multiplied again. Haha just my theories & opinion. The real answers, obviously the Nintendo people know! We can ask them one day? 😁
I think it was actually said by nintendo themselves that the reason there's a bunch of inconsistencies that don't add up and that the game references events from multiple different timelines is because BotW is so far in the future that the split timeline righted itself by merging together all of the split timelines and picking apart elements to retain and readjusting history to make sense of things.
It ultimately boils down to wanting to be a love letter that references as much from every game as it can.

But Breath of the Wild takes place in a time where all timelines had already converged.
HOW? We don't know that yet. But each timeline that links to BOTW has one glaring impossibility that disqualifies it.
DOWNFALL Timeline = The Imprisoning War genocided the Gorons, Gerudos, & Kokiris. No Great Sea & Rock Salt.
CHILD Timeline = Princess Ruto of the Zora never became a Sage. No Great Sea & Rock Salt. No Lynels.
ADULT Timeline = The Master Sword & Old Hyrule are underwater. Zora became Rito. No Lynels.
Can't have BOTW in DOWNFALL only because Gorons, Gerudos, & Koroks exist. Koroks came from Kokiri.
And Rock Salt is a result of the Great Sea. Zoras are also not Enemies as a result of Imprisoning War.
Can't have BOTW in CHILD only because Ruto cannot be a Sage heralded on the Zora Tablets.
No Divine Beast would be named for the Sages Ruto, Darunia, Nabooru either since they would have never been Sages to begin with (Medli would not even be known since she's from an alternate future).
Those events were undone by Zelda sending Link back in time to warn the King of Hyrule of Ganon's plot.
Can't have BOTW in ADULT only because Zora exist as well as the Master Sword & Old Hyrule.
The Master Sword was buried in Ganondorf's head way underwater with washed away Old Hyrule.
New Hyrule becomes the setting for the Adult Timeline.
So if no SINGLE timeline makes sense, the only answer is MULTIPLE timelines merged together somehow.
Remember, the Goddess Hylia is the Goddess of Time & the Goddess of Light. And Zelda is Hylia in mortal form.
The story of HOW these different realities got combined into one has not been told yet but that's what happened.
Perhaps BOTW will tell the story of Highly Advanced Hyrule 10,000 years ago & that may shed light on the threads tying the timelines together. Notice how Nintendo put BOTW under all three timelines & just say it happens "AT THE END".

I didn't know the Floor Masters threw her! I've only ever seen her being taken and sucked in by them. It was horrifying to experience that for the first time after all these years. They were freaking brutal, especially that one that kept yeeting her against the stone pillar.
I'm surprised he didnt put 2 and 2 together to realize he was getting a mirror shield in this dungeon. then again he didnt play the games in launch order. from ALTTP, OOT, and MM all had the mirror shield and besides ALTTP its very obvious you are gonna get it just from observing the dungeon

Hey DBG just wanted to say that dont sleep on the DS Zelda titles they may not be your traditional Zelda games but they are well thought out games that use the DS hardware real creatively with great characters and world building so give em a try after WW.

It was these Temples that utterly killed Wind Waker for me. One of my least favorite Zeldas.
Yet, I can't help but be intrigued by those who *DO* find enjoyment in these partner dungeons.
