    Just learning nuke here, how did you drag a box over the node you wanted to view and view it at 10:33 ?

    • @AlfieVaughan
      @AlfieVaughan  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Haha magic! ;) I actually just drag over a node to select it and then press 1 to set the viewer on it. Just a habbit. Because I use a wacom instead of a mouse sometimes clicking a node moves it slightly and I like my scripts to be very straight!

    hi sir .. how i can export my 3D object with aovs without rendering from blender to nuke.
    sorry for my english , iknow its so hard to explain that . but i mean ..iwant to put my 3d object into nuke for fully control , not with render . becoz if it render, will show just image or video of my 3d object, not like a fully 3D object.. so how i can export my 3d object with aovs from blender.. any idea sir

    • @AlfieVaughan
      @AlfieVaughan  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can export it an as an alembic which is a 3D format and then you can bring it into nuke. But it won't have AOVs. You can only get AOVs from rendering. The scanline render node has the option to output some like the depth channel but it's not as many as rendering from blender. Hope that helps!

    Awesome tutorial! One of the few high quality Nuke tutorials on TH-cam imo. I do have one question, how did you block out the bushes in the final shot (the tank is behind the bushes)? I just started using Nuke a few days ago, so I'm new to the whole process.

    • @AlfieVaughan
      @AlfieVaughan  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks a lot! It's really simple. Just create a roto node and draw around the bushes. Then on the right side of the merge node is a mask input. Plug the roto into that and add an invert node between them which makes the tank show everywhere except inside the roto shapes you draw :)

      What do you want to know? It's exactly the same software but the output resolution is limited to 1080p and you can't use third party gizmos I don't think. • @AlfieVaughan
      @AlfieVaughan  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      If it's an actual plugin you'll probably have to actually install it with a setup file or something (it varies from plugin to plugin...) If it's a gizmo you should just be able to drop it straight into your .nuke folder. You might have to add it to your menu.py file as well so you can see it in Nuke. If so it will probably come with a text file to add to your original file!

      Have you set the depth pass to use the correct channel? Nuke expects it to be called depth.Z or something but it comes out of blender with different names depending on what you do. Either rename it in blender or select the depth channel it's actually in within the ZDefocus node :)

      The actual z depth pass from blender doesn't work weirdly. The mist pass is the one that actually contains depth information. Have you tried that?

    • @ikbenikHD
      @ikbenikHD 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      maybe it works with a shuffleCopy. If you've rendered and imported the zPass, you could create a new Zpass layer in the shuffleCopy. Like he did on 14:45.
      You link your zPass on input 2 and in the shuffleCopy, on the right column which says: 'input "none"', you put none on your zPass.
      Where he put layername 'P', you create your own custom-name for the ZPass.
      Now you put the ZDefocus under the shuffleCopy. In the ZDefocus you put 'depth channel' on your 'custom-name' and you're set.
      It's a while ago I've tried something like this, but I think it would work :p

      @@AlfieVaughan I lost a lot of details, cause you really talk fast, i need to rewind a lot lol Would be really great you teach more slowly, cause you KNOW A LOT, and would help a lot, You can even start a Patron and i would make part for sure!

      Thanks for the feedback. I get that a lot! This video is quite old now. I have learned to talk a little slower as I've made more. As for the Patreon, I made one recently! I make all the project files for all my videos available now. Check out the links in one of my recent videos if you're interested :)
