So I’ve been to Footprints multiple times, I don’t go for the authenticity of the food but for the ambience. It’s been a couple of years so I don’t know how the atmosphere is on a weekend night. I also enjoy Suede, which is a stone’s throw away. But I also enjoy saving myself the commute of having to go into Brooklyn and I’ll just go to Fish and Ting in the Bx. The food isn’t mind blowing, but the drinks are OK.
It must just be NY Jamaican restaurants like this cause all the Jamaican restaurants I went to, the staff was very friendly and courteous...the cooks husband even started DJing on Fridays! Shout out to Mama P's! Lol

The initial interaction is just the typical "NYC hard-to-get or know" facade. The best way to judge a restaurant in NYC is if the "locals" gravitate there or 5 plus people are waiting in line. Some cities behave like this beginning on Friday because they just got paid and don't feel like cooking, but NYC with its population should always have such a crowd.

Fishermans Cove for Jamaican food. Im not an oxtail guy but theirs is amongst the best. Their stew chicken and Curry goat is great. Best Trini Spot is Alis about a mile and a half from Fishermans Cove on Utica ave . They have the best Roti and doubles.
Lol try Jerk House in Bronx ny white Plains Road try the Jerk Fry Chicken with oxtail gravy on the rice and peas it’s very good u wont be disappointed👍

I went to the footprints on Nostrand....their jerk pork was pretty good with the sweet chili sauce and the staff was nice.
