The single was one of the most successful of her career, peaking at number one on The Black Singles chart for one week. Unlike previous Cherrelle releases, "Everything I Miss at Home" did not chart on the Hot 100

Good Morning. The song can makes people come up with their own opinions. Cherrelle revealed in Unsung that she was having issues with her late husband creeping and not giving her attention and she went out to clear her head and she met a man who she was able to talk to about live. In another interview she revealed that she wanted Alex to record his part with her in the studio but they both were having scheduling conflicts. Jimmy Terry and the label wanted Alex to record his part separetly but Cherrelle wasn't having it. She told them that the album wouldn't be released until she and him recorded in the studio together.
