My 2014 2.0 ecoflex diesel 160bhp Sports tourer has 250k + and has given me very few problems. Maintenance is essential on these cars. If buying and it doesnt have a 100% Full Service History dont touch them. Yes i had a new rubber seal fitted to the oil pump (dont need to dismantle the gearbox) but its still a 5hr job. Turbo hose was replaced at 178k and egr was removed and cleaned at 210k. My pressure sensor glowplugs came as a set of 4 @€140 each. Timing belts and pumps done before recommended time, and only use Valvoline SynPower MST C3 5W-30, front suspension uprights done too 3 weeks ago and thats really it. Economical, very comfortable, deceptively quick too i cant really complain. I cant understand the hate these cars get. More often than not its because owners have skipped on the maintenance and thats why they fail.
I have the 2012 version in elite Nav. At only 68k, it drives like its done 250k. The engine service history was full till 51k which was when I bought it. Kick starter replaced, instrument cluster replaced by manufacturer as all the lights had dimmed and were flickering, new shock absorbers, electronic power tail gate module and end connectors replaced ( cost a fortune )! Cambelt/water pump changed and yesterday morning, EGR failed and car went into limp mode. EGR was replaced today an there's still more to do and the car has only done 68k! Despite being the top of the range, the car feels like it running on concrete wheels. The Ford Mondeo is a far superior vehicle.
I have an 2013 Elite , 2.0 diesel, it has now clocked up 256,000 miles, apart from the usual tyres & brakes i have had to replace 3 of the tyre sensors, an alternator belt, the cam belt and water pump I have had changed at 100,000 and 200,000 miles. replaced a broken coil spring, Engine still runs great and I get about 55 mpg out of it. most of my driving is on motorways, as i do an 84 mile round trip to work 5 days a week.
I just bought one, and already had a alot of issues. Ive owned alot of opels before, mostly Omegas, best cars ive had, but the insignia, i fucking hate that thing. NEVER again
You must have been unlucky I have had 2 Vauxhall cars, the first a 2004 Vectra from new clocked up 189,000 miles in 10 years. and now on a 2013 Insignai 13,000 miles when I bought it. It has now reach 256,000 miles.
@@SHOLTIE2004 I think its you who has been very lucky. Edit.......Sorry about this comment. Maybe you're right. I just found out last week that the car's mileage had been clocked. So what is currently registering as 73k is INFACT closer to 150k which will explain somw of the problems I've been having. Its not really the cars or manufacturers fault. It's done a lot of miles and so naturally some things will wear out.
@@MrElchavnah, I concur. I have a 2009 2.0t petrol, and had it do stage 1, giving out 285 bhp and almost 47kg of torque, putting a lot more strain on the engine and it has now reached 160k no issues whatsoever. You were just unlucky
Do you know if condensation in the headlights also common is?

I have exactly the same car, 90.000 miles, no problems at all. I am selling next year to buy a new car, just for a change.
One of the most reliable cars in the market
Are automatic gearbox reliable?
I think they pack Aisen gearboxes in some series which are very reliable.

Crap cars
Poorly engineered. GM make crappy cars.
